- Linköping is a city in the Östergötland region and is one of the most beautiful places to visit in Sweden. It’s the number one high-tech city in Sweden in a number of areas: Internet of Things (IoT),
vehicle safety, aeronautical technology and technology for a sustainable environment.
It's one of the largest cities in the region and has a rich history dating back to medieval times. Linköping is known for its universities, historic sites, and modern industries. It's also the center of the Linköping Municipality and serves as an important cultural, educational, and economic hub in Sweden. Linköping University (LiU) is one of the larger academic institutions in Sweden, Northern Europe.
The imposing Linköping Cathedral, a quintessential example of Scandinavian Gothic architecture, is a towering presence that has graced the skyline since the 13th century. Additionally, Linköping has a strong presence in the aerospace industry, with Saab AB, a major aerospace and defense company, headquartered in the city. It also boasts a rich cultural scene, with theaters, museums, and festivals throughout the year.
Linköping has a diverse economy with strengths in several sectors. As mentioned earlier, aerospace and defense are significant, with Saab AB being a major employer. The city also has a strong presence in technology and innovation, with a growing startup scene and research institutions such as Linköping University and the renowned Linköping University Hospital.
Surrounding Linköping is the beautiful Östergötland countryside, characterized by forests, lakes, and farmland. Outdoor enthusiasts can enjoy activities such as hiking, cycling, fishing, and boating. Nice video of my city. Lots of history too, near the bridge with the locks were the . battle of Stångebro stod between Duke Karl and king Sigismund of Polen.
Thanks for the info, I did not know these facts from history. The city is perfect for living, much less crowded than, say, Stockholm or Helsingborg, and still offers everything that larger cities have. 👌👌

Sweden, in fact all Nordic countries, is full of forests. And woodland. I thought Lund would be the number 1 high-tech city in Sweden. Both are lovely cities.
