  • A sermon delivered by C.H. Spurgeon, Sunday Thursday evening January 1st 1885
    Here Spurgeon speaks about the New birth, and the joy of forgiveness. Here is hope for those who are far from Christ, and those who have marred their faith by sin. Further, here is solid hope for the backslidden.
    During this sermon some in the congregation cried out 'Haleluijah!' and other exuberant resonses. We see by the preacher's reaction that he was unused to such congregational resonses, but still we feel his joy.
