Definitely right and buckets are for trail blazing and smoke making hooning or crying away the tears of that one girl or car/truck depends how you look at it
Seeing that Can Am hood on that Pontiac brings back sweet memories of the 80's when you could pick these and other rare coups up for pennies on the dollar. Zip~
When doing roofs, it is stronger to step cut each cut, rather then doing straight cut. The out shell cut, protrudes further then the inner structure. But you did good by adding strengthening plates.
Seems like a car thats not sure what it wants to be to me. Is it a station wagon? Fast back sports car? Kind of looks like both to me. I think if the tail lights were a bit more aggressive id really like it honestly.

Another solution is to have a friend with an English wheel make you a roof skin (or Hurst T-top it, since this is a full perimeter frame vee-hickle). Ultimately you will know in July and August you did the job right when your car sits in the sun at a show all day and the roof metal expands as one unit...rather than popping loose or "oilcanning". But that's why Detroit gave us vinyl tops to pay extra for.
That lemans had a rare GTO style hood option. It was also available on the grand am. The Ram air was never functional because during testing it failed drive by noise regulations.

During the fitting/install of the replacement roof, I think it would have been quicker and easier to use sheetmetal screws somewhat loosely installed to hold the reinforcing plates in place. Then the plates could be easily manipulated into place and welded all together. No?
Math doesn't check out for your Marlin power figures. You claim a peak of 270hp but 360lbft of torque at 6000RPM. That calculates to a HP of 411.3 HP at 6000 RPM. Something is off, probably typo on the RPM which peak torque is hit.
They should have built the Pontiac Lemans and put a big Pontiac 455 in it. That would have been awesome. It is a shame they changed the door handles on that Buick Centurion also.
Bench-Frontseats don't suck, nor are they ugly. Its a unique feature only vintage american cars got. Every new car got buckets...so whats so special on it?????
Anyone else wonder why the LeMans wasn't restored. oops spoke too soon, stay to the end. The 66 Marlin wasn't compared to the 66-67 Charger. Weird to me because of the similarities.
Yeah...I took out my bench seat from the malibu, wish I kept it in there, harder to roll around with your girlfriend in buckets and the backseat dont have doors you can open or windows u can roll down

Bench seats are awesome- but for a diff reason
Haha
"Step out of your comfort zone and challenge yourself." AWESOME encouragement.
MORE operation Dead Goat. Honestly I was hoping that Buick was being customized more than it was. Keep em coming.

The junkyard messed up my roof on my stolen 70 Lincoln , I’m glad there’s a vid out there already on about replacing old car roofs

That is the only way I ever seen it done before this video.
I remember poking fun at Marlin's when they were new. Now I would love to have one. Guess getting old does that to ya'.

They must have influenced someone over at Dodge because the 66-67 Charger is similar

KEEP THE BENCH!!! Cruisers need a bench seat
Can't cruise and snuggle in buckets...
Bucket seats may be more fun for driving but bench seats are WAY more fun for parking.
Agree

Much more Comfortable. Buckets with a Console are thought of as Nut Crackers

Awesome seat.
I love these guys iv learned a lot watching them!

If possible Upload an episode that the Flash back was The Oldsmobile Toronado Could you do that Please?

If you have the basic skills to measure and weld (doesn't have to be pretty, just solid) you'd be surprised what you can get done.

I feel mislead. The roof ended up at stock height.
The old roof had a big rust hole that was patched but not very well. It also had other problems. Watch at 0:31 he explains.

This is "replacing" a top, not chopping it.
Does the one dude have a wig?
To get the top just jack car in middle and slip her in Geometry and physics
project goat put a bullet proof glass top on that puppy and ride n glide down the street evey one will b goakin ....aka bug eyed lolol...
why the hell would you chop the top on a 73 Buick?
swapped,not chopped
Damn...not as solid as I thought
I'd rather have an AMC Rebel SST!
Donking is the dumbest thing you can do to a car second only to chopping a roof
So, they didn't CHOP the top. They replaced the roof. OK.
I will turn that Buick LeMans into a wasteland car
They fucking up.a good classic car smh
They could of chopped it a inch

Depends what you're after and the price of the parts. Cheap car plus cheap parts makes it worth the effort for something a little different.
Chopping the roof off of the vehicle real stupid
Since when is a 73 Buick anything a “muscle car”.
Its not
Anything after 1972 wasn't a muscle car, but that car was available as a GS 455 stage 1 option..
Yeah. Those '70's GM cars were not very attractive. Heck, really, they were fugly.
I'll take the bench off your hands
They probably threw it in the trash, like they do with the "dated" oak cabinets on the home improvement shows.

A flux core welder is pretty damn basic. No gas required, just get the settings right and get on with it.
