- It's finally complete! I'm so excited to share this project I've been working on for the past 6-ish months (though I've wanted to do this meme for over four years!)
These characters are my own ocs from a beloved warrior cats AU roleplay, Rekindled Ruins which poses the question, "What if Warrior Cats had Kingdoms and royal families instead of Clans?"
This group and the characters have been a huge source of artistic inspiration throughout my years at university, so I'm so glad to finally dedicate my first little animation after animation school featuring them! c:
the soldier: Tatteredpath, deputy of the Kingdom Within the Shadows
the poet: Ebonycloak, voice of the outsiders, and ally to the Kingdoms
the king: Princess Honeydrop, heir to the throne and princess of the Kingdom Within the Shadows

Animating the different walk cycles for each character was challenging, but a great learning experience and so rewarding!
This was my first time using Procreate Dreams for the majority of the animation (the sketches were done in Procreate original, the lines/color done in Dreams) and honestly it was quite... a challenge. I think Dreams is great for quick ideas, storyboards, and some animatics. But the limited transformation tools makes Dreams pretty difficult to use for full animations (if you're curious about more of my thoughts on Dreams let me know!)
I also switched to DaVinci Resolve for editing, and I absolutely love this software! It was a bit of a learning curve, but I'm so glad to be free of Adobe products for now c':

Just in case anyone is curious about the flowers in the portraits, they do all have meanings! (though I am no flower symbolism expert, so it's up to your interpretation :>
Tatteredpath: daisy, larkspur, ivy, dogwood
Ebonycloak: periwinkle, lavender, ink cap mushrooms, sage
Honeydrop: moonflower/datura, poppy, cherry blossom, lily of the valley

Aw looks really nice! I love the flowers and designs and the animations are so smooth! Honey’drop looks very similar to brightheart tho, lol but I love it so much. (:
@@WolpaArts aww thank you so much! HAHA yes she does!! The design sadly just panned out that way, since she was half designed by a good friend of mine. But also Brightheart is one of my favorite characters too 😊
