I still work my fields with my 4020 power shift. It looks very similar might be same year. Very nice plowing. I use 3rd gear when plowing but it depends the kind of dirt. Good job!
When ever I here of a 5020, I think of my days at tech school 1988-1990. They had a 5020 engine that they used for tear down and rebuild for diesel engine training. My friend and I disassembled, did all the usual measuring of parts, and then reassembled the engine. Finally, we got to start it up!👍👍😃😃 Our excitement quickly turned to panic and terror!!!!!!!!😧😧😧😧 The last person to work on the fuel injection pump got something wrong!!!!!!! We had a run away engine on our hands! Most of the other kids hid behind their piece of equipment!!!!!!!😆 Our shop teacher, FLEW across the shop, jumping over a pallet of parts, grabbed a block of wood and covered the intake. But the block of wood was rough sawn, so the engine was still available to suck air. Still a run away! Shop teacher then used his pocket knife to cut the fuel line! After another 30 seconds of running, the engine finally died!!!!!😥. The shop was so full of smoke, I don't think you could see 5 feet in front of your face!!!!! LOL. Good times!!!!!😆 Love your videos!👍👍👍👍👍👍👍
I enjoy your videos. In a couple of months be back out in the field with the 3020 and 4 bottom or maybe I'll use a 3 bottom on the G. Dad always gets first dibs.
Been enjoying watching your videos, plowing and then picking corn. My grandfather was JD farmer. Had a D and a A. But I have one question, why is that tree still in the middle of that field? Just curious.
When I was growing up (I'm 68), my dad used to tell me that sometimes a tree was left out in a field when people still farmed with teams, so the horses could rest in the shade.

some nice looking soil and the tractor pulling the 7 bottom hardly sounds like it was working hard at all
That's because it's not in the ground very far

@@smid2550 I could see that as a reason. Thnx
Plowed a lot as a kid; rally miss it. Anybody else notice the tach on the 4020 wasn't working? 🤣
We have a new one on the shelf ha
Pretty typical
Where is this being plowed ? Looks like southern Minnesota soil !
Northern Illinois
What gear where you plowing with that 4020?
I think 4th most of the time
Nowhere near that easy if that had been sod and hadn't rained in 3 weeks.
