Amy do you sell all these blade sets and do your customer service ppl know what is needed for say and old air marine (air403) to upgrade? Also do you other spare parts like the windings, control boards, etc for the said old model?
I need to double check, but I think when SouthWest Wind Power sold their Air family to Primus, I think they may have discontinued upgrades to the old old models. We can get many parts, contact us, if the sales folks don't know off the top of their head, they can find out for you.
It's hard to predict the life of the turbine, as they are under such different weather conditions. They do have a 5 year warranty, so that gives you a little view into the minimum expectations. The price to repair varies depending on what has broken. Air 30 is well made but not suitable for high wind environments...they are still flogging this nonsense as fact. The turbine cuts out at around 32 knots....waits for 5 minutes ...then the processor allows it to spin up again briefly to check if wind speed is still too high. So, it may go for 10 seconds then hibernate for 5 minutes again. I live inland Scotland...it produces next to nothing most of the autumn ,winter and early spring. I can see that there is merit in having an electronically controlled brake...but only if based on an average , say if it was consistantly over 30 knots for ten seconds that would be fine. As it is, a gust for a second above this will shut it down for 5 minutes. I had this out with the sales dept ...their reply was that they have sold 100, 000 units. Maybe so, but it does not detract from the fact that this unit is severely mis-sold...even the graphs they have on this presentation makes it look like the turbine limits the power over certain speeds but still has output. That would be fine...thats the basis I bought it on. However, its a complete fabrication to show outputs as they do.After 32 knots , the power drops to zero and the blades are electronically braked until it goes thru the motions of starting up again. Like I said, it seems a well made unit...if you lived in a perfect world where the winds were between 22 and 32 knots at all times...you probably would love it. Otherwise, buyer beware...save a few hundred bucks extra and get the Superwind 350...with feathering blades which will churn out 350 watts from 24 to 124 knots.
