- Hello my lovely bunch of people and welcome to another music video reaction! We have Random Mondays, Anything goes Wednesdays, and Music Fridays, so today I am bringing Dimash and his cover of the famous French song SOS d'un terrien en détresse.
Dimash is a singer from Kazakhstan and his voice is absolutely incredible, as I've noticed that during my recording. I was so stunned by what Dimash did vocally that I forgot to react to the fashion aspect as that is something I always do, so this video is the first time I completely and unintentionally neglected that part.

Dimash is amazing people I don't know what else to tell you, and this song, SOS d'un terrien en détresse, seemed perfect for him. Everything that was added to the song was perfectly fitting for his voice. I fell in love with this version.

Lmfao! 😂 Lara liked his version of Adagio. It was early in his use of English, but his vocals are out of this world. SOS was his first performance of the The Singer 2017 when he was 22. Adagio is episode 6. Episode 2 is a fun performance of Vitas' song Opera 2. Another vocal showcase.

Dimash was born in Kazakhstan in 1994. He began studying music at the age of 5. At a young age he was diagnosed with "perfect pitch". His parents are famous singers in Kazakhstan. He studied piano and singing. He later graduated in classical and contemporary music. He has a master's degree in composition and is currently pursuing a doctorate in musicology. He speaks Kazakh, Russian and English. He sings in 14 languages. He has received countless awards and honors at home and abroad. After competing in "I am a singer" in China 2017, he became famous all over the world. In addition to being a singer, composer and multi-instrumentalist (more than 6), he has ventured as an advertising model, actor, dancer and audiovisual director. He is only 28 years old and is 6.3 feet tall. He lives in his country, Kazakhstan. He has a You Tube page (Dimash Qudaibergen) where he has posted many of his songs. He has just finished a tour that had been suspended due to the pandemic, starting with Dubai where he achieved total success with the attendance of fans from more than 60 countries around the world and which was repeated in Germany and the Czech Republic. I cannot fail to mention that he is an exceptional human being. He is known as "the best singer in the world".

I responded to other people who said similar stuff as you, but what I didn't mention is the insane fact that he sings in 14 languages even though he doesn't speak all of them. I as a child could sing in many languages, even today if I listened to the song enough, and it just shows the power or music, as well as our memory and potential. Music unites. And to respond to your other comment with suggestions, I will get to some of them next week heh.
You just witnessed the greatest vocalist alive. He’s from Kazakhstan (28 years old), sings in 15 different languages, plays multiple musical instruments and is currently working on his PhD in music. He’s been training since the age of 5, has a 6-8 octave range (depending on who you ask) has absolute pitch, and is an amazingly humble man. He sings every genre (even raps) He has many recent performances, but I would highly recommend "Sinful Passion" 2018, Stranger" 2021, "Diva Dance" at Bastau 2017, "Ikanaide" 2021, "Ave Maria" 2021, "Daybreak" at Bastau 2017. Each performance will leave you stunned.

Dimash is far removed from an ‘arrogant’ b… he is incredibly talented, humble beyond belief, kind, generous, thoughtful, respectful, intelligent and funny. You should go down the rabbit hole - you won’t be disappointed.
The guy you wanted to know about is one of the contestants in the band ‘Lion ‘ - not sure what his name is but the guy sitting next to him, Jam Hsaio, is the founder and leader of the band. They are amazing, as most of the contestants were on the show The Singer 2017.
Dimash came second overall in the competition - he was only 22 and a total unknown to the Chinese audience who fell in love with him after this performance of SOS which turned him into an overnight star in China (600 million views) and launched him on to the global stage. 🙏🏻🇦🇺

In my opinion,the smirk at the end of the song has nothing to do with arrogance,he is an extremely humble guy,as you said,but rather his relief after getting a job done.He had a lot of pressure,doubts,mixed thoughts the whole week preceding this first episode of The Singer Chinese competition where he had to be the first to sing!I We should add that he was the only non-chinese singer ever competing and the youngest one and that there were 12 episodes in about 3 montths and if those ones who weren't ranqed in the first 4(,out of 7),if I'm not mistaken, had to quit the competition.Well...maybe his smile has something to do with all of it.

Yes, the little smile at the end, that's easy to misunderstand. He was 22 at the time and invited to the Chinese show as a wild card. It was his first song, the first time he was away from home alone for a long time. He competed against a lot of established singers and as a Kazakh he was a stranger in China without being able to speak the language. It was also the first performance of the evening.
The smile, I think that was pure relief, phew that went well. He's a beast on stage, an absolute showman, but very different backstage. His second appearance is a cover of a song by Vitas called Opera 2, after which he asks twice if he sang well.
Very well may be a sign of relief, absolutely agree there. Especially when that was his breakthrough moment it seems. Love it.

But he didn't know that at the time, he only found out when the episode was broadcast on Chinese television and the organizers suddenly put bodyguards at his side. He didn't take it seriously at first. But when he went out onto the street and was immediately recognized, he slowly realized that something big had changed.
Dimash is a high fashion model endorsing what he wishes. At the emi gala he won the fashion award for 2022. This is from 2017 the China show I am a singer. You’re question is he a counter tenor is the big question of the vocal coach. In Ave Maria he starts in soprano and metso soprano. It isn’t just his range which is over 7 octaves. He’s 28 now so this is 5 years old. You only saw one song 5 years ago. He hit a D8 one note off the piano at the top of the piano which is not a note but a frequency. Dimash sings in every register including base and baritone.

Dimash was taught to be in character before during and after a performance.
Yet sometimes he forgets that, which shows he is only human. There are a few other performances where he had a little smirk as well. Not out of arrogance, but because he is a perfectionist and sometimes he is satisfied with how it went. This was the first episode of the Chinese show and he was the only competitor from a non Chinese speaking country. With this song he could showcase most of his talent. From then on he was catapulted into world fame.
This was his first appearance in a Chinese competition. He was probably thrilled that he nailed the performance when he had that little smile. Actually he’s a really humble, nice person and he rarely breaks character during a performance. He began his voice studies at 5 years old. Enjoy!

You’ve just stumbled upon the best singer in the universe! Dimash is from Kazakhstan. His parents are professional singers and he’s been training since the age of 5. He was offered a place with an opera company but turned it down to do his own thing. He plays 7 instruments and sings in 15 languages. He’s far from arrogant. In fact he’s the nicest most humble person you’ll find in the music industry. This was in 2017 when he entered a show in China named I am Singer for already well known singers. He was a last minute wild card entry, the youngest and only foreigner. This was the first song of the competition and he became an overnight sensation in China. He’s very well known in Asia and Eastern Europe. The western world are catching up fast. Please do react to him singing Adagio from the same competition. It may very well change your mind about who sings it the best. Lara Fabian is fabulous and one of Dimash’ influences btw. You might be interested to know that he has a fantastic dress sense too. I loved your surprized reaction! I also loved that you noticed that little smirk of Dimash at the end knowing that he nailed the song while dazzeling the jury members. In this competition he was the only foreign competitor, they called him "imported little brother". So he had to reach very high and he did it! He blew not only the jury but the whole Chinese community away with this performance. While ending this song, he couldn't even imagine this was the beginning of a worldwide recognition of his incredible talent. I love that little smirk...It is like a cherry on his pie. Oh my Lord, that is astounding. He is so experienced and well versed and educated on singing and the technique as well as stylistic choices for his age. He looks so young and so fun but he sings as if he has been a professional singer for five decades. Yes Dimash.. What can one say? Just watch, listen, admire and splutter in disbelief! He is just on another level, among his many qualities is immense courage! He can do anything, and always does! The performance that confirmed all this for me is Olimpico/Ogni Pietra written for him for opening the European Games a few years ago. Performed at his Arnau Kinetic Voice concert, the best version. Born in 1994 in Kazakhstan, Dimash was 22 at the time of this performance - his first ever time singing in China, where he was totally unknown. (You’re correct, he has been training his voice since the age of 5.) Now a worldwide star, SOS is his breakthrough song - please investigate further as he’s even better now! He has millions of fans known as Dears, and is much-loved not only for his voice, but for his warm, caring and humble personality.

Technically and artistically that’s a fact. His versatility, wide range, stage presence, performance, background, technique, creativity, powerful and beautiful voice makes him all in one 🔝🔝🎤❤️🌹 The Singer , it was a Chinese show for highly respected singers to compete, Dimash was the only non Chinese singer invited because the producer saw him perform for the Chinese and Kazakh presidents and was very impressed. He is from Kazakhstan and was the youngest ever competitor in 2017 at only 22 years old. This was his first performance on the show and the audience went wild for him. When the show was broadcast on tv he had to have bodyguards for the first time in his life as he had become a superstar overnight in China. 'Why are they clapping right away?' If you watch vocal coaches or musician reactions to this, you will see they are sold the moment Dimash opens his mouth. It may sound simple but he is singing very high, very softly and with amazing control. It sounds simple and easy because Dimash is making it so. I promise you it is not.
Seriously, I have watched 3 years worth of first reactions to Dimash. Maybe too many because it's turned out to be an addiction. Anyways, I am honestly telling you from the heart that today watching your first reaction to him has been really my favorite. I've mentioned to other first reactioners that they were in my top five. All these years I've never said one of them was my favorite. I figured I would do it one time when I least expected it. You are great. Dimash was not only discovered as the worlds best vocalist, but the best of the fashion industry discovered all 6'3" of him as well, he is dressed on stage or off by the very best, has done magazine layouts, and fashion videos. The camera loves him, and he is one of the most photographed people in the world, so they more than get their money's worth. He is in fact beginning his own clothing line, he already has his own perfume line. Dimash was 22 here, he is now 28, and has never stopped honing his voice, with hours of training a day. It's so fun for us "Dears" (that’s what Dimash calls his fans because he loves us as a dear family) to see how people react to him.
Some info about Dimash. He is born in May 24 1994. He is from Kazakhstan and has been music schooled sense 5 years old and told the teacher that the piano was out of tune! He sings about 7 octaves or so! No one knows he is still learning. He sings higher than the piano can go! He also writs and compose own songs, plays bunch of instruments including Dombra there own Kazakh instrument that has a sound you can’t believe and onley 2 strings! He also sings in about 14 (Kazakh, Turkish, Usceck, Russian, Ukranian, Serbien, Bulgarian Chinese , Italien, Spamish, French, English, German, Japanese ) languages and speaks 3 so far (Kazakh, Russian and English).
Dimash has an excellent education: he graduated from the College of Music with a degree in Opera Singing, university of arts in the specialty "Estrada and jazz vocals", and on June 18, 2020, he completed a master's degree in Composition. He graduated with a degree in opera from the music school at the University of Aktobe (2014), a degree in pop/jazz from the National Arts University in Nur Sultan (2018), just completed his Master's degree in composition (June 2020) and have started his PhD.
He have done some contests in his life but the one I think got the worlds intension is "The Singer" (Allso called "I am a singer" or "Singer") from China in 2017. The Singer is a program for established Chinese singers to face off against each other invites only in a competition where votes were cast by an audience of 500.
Dimash Qudaibergen was a last-minute inclusion (a 'dark horse'). But his performance of 'SOS D'un Terrien En Detresse' electrified the audience, his fellow competitors and the viewers who numbered in the billions (this program was one of the most-watched in China and outside).
They also got him the nickname "Imported little brother" the day after the show. They also had to get bodyguard for Dimash do to the famous over night both in China and also the world. Dimash wasn’t really prepared for that. He had come to China at 22 years young man by him self and didn’t know the language. They hade contracted him for 2 shows because they didn’t think he cold go further than that. He didn’t think they would like him. So he was nervous this performers that he had also to start the show with. But they hade to change that do to his famous over night.
Dimash got many new friends from this show and he said at some point he learned a lot from it to.

Just after they got out of that room Dimash turns to his father and asks if he did good! Gloria Wu's channel has the back-story about the song that is so sad and from a life story about a boy losing his parents in an awful way. Also you get to hear how Dimash sounds like then loosing his voice the day of the show!!! When he went on he didn’t know if he could sing. Looking close at the other contestants they where so worried about him. He lost his voice again after. Li Jian another contestant bought him a very very expensive Chinese medication for him so he could get better soon!

Episode 10 : 'Unforgettable Day' In Kazakh and I think some translation in Chinese to. If I remember correct he wrote the music to this one when he was 19 years old and lyrics by Oral-kosai Baisengir, who was a poet/lyricist father of a friend of Dimash. Also in this show another contestant "Terry Lin" that was about 51 years young here he considered Dimash a dear friend at this point. But Dimash started telling them al he was his father around episode 9 I think!! That is a big respect and love from his part of the world to call him! Terry was gladly accepting it. They are still that close and also invites each other to there concerts and sometimes singing this song in duet to. They sang it in Jackie Chang movie festival in 2019 and Jackie was choked in how good they were. Terry was known as an alien before Dimash and they have similar vocals to.

The song was composed by Igor Krutoy, but Lara Fabian wrote the lyrics. Unfortunately Dimash and LF have performed together only Ti Amo Cosi (+Aida Garifullina). I also wish they had done more!

Dimash is the opposite of arrogance. Humblest man you ever could hope to know. Dimash was singing FIRST in a competition of professional singers, and probably quite glad to have performed well. He was an invited wildcard. Dimash started music training at age 5. He was 22 in this competition, and is now 28, and working on his PhD. Please listen to Stranger from New Wave 2021. Dimash Qudaibergen was born on May 24, 1994, in Aktobe, Kazakhstan into musical royalty. Height: 1.91m; 6' 3'. Grandfather played professional dombra, grandmother was a teacher and sings.

According to Kazakh tradition, he was raised by his grandparents (Mama and Papa) and for a long time he kept his parents as his brother ans sister in law. They all live together in one house.

He has been training in music since he was 5 years old, has a perfect pitch. He is university-educated with degrees in piano, classical/opera, contemporary music, pop, and jazz with a major in vocal. In 2016, Dimash turned down the offer of the National Opera in Astana because he wanted to go his own way ... He created his own genre: neoclassical combined with classical, folklore and other styles such as pop, rock, R&B and jazz. We laypeople say 'Popera'. 😃
Dimash is independent and has full artistic control over himself. He founded his own company named Dimash Ali.
In 2017, Dimash surprised everyone in China. He opened the eyes of his critical compatriots. Today Dimash is a 'cultural ambassador' for his country and a 'national treasure' (not an official title). He himself is a proud Kazakh and patriot.
Dimash plays at least 7 instruments, traditional dombra is a must in his family. He speaks Kazakh (mother tongue) and Russian without accent (second language in Kazakhstan), is learning English and Mandarin. He says dancing and Mandarin are difficult for him. So far, he sings in 13 languages, trains his voice for 3 hours every day... but Dimash said: "You don't need to know how hard I've worked, you just need to enjoy the results".
Experts consider Dimash to be a lyrical baritone with a typically long range. Dimash says of himself that he is a tenor. Some believe that he does not sing his high notes as a countertenor but as a natural soprano. He is the first singer to sing all 5 voices: bass, baritone, tenor, contralto, soprano.

I do the same, only difference is I can't sing for the life of me :D Also, a cute thing to know about him is that he doesn't like to wear socks :'D but I disagree there fully as I adore sox (I talked about that in another video on my channel), so I am judging him for that :'D
