China has been running these mines for years and they actually encourage "artisanal" mining in their less developed mines.

Countries like Tanzania and Uganda have significant mineral reserves, only that they don’t shout much about them. For instance, make your research about the Kilembe copper mines in western Uganda which have some of the largest cobalt deposits - majority of which is already extracted and piled on the surface. Make your research before claiming to know much about everything in EAC.
