Love it! Using water based markers and no fineliner outline was a smart move, it looks almost like watercolor, more natural! And I agree, those kitchens look like a dream 😍
Hi Filo, all I own is water-based markers and I completely understand where she's coming from about the streaks. However, in this case, like she stated, it definitely worked in her favor because it really does look like wood grain. I would love to try alcohol-based markers but I'm so afraid of the bleeding/ghosting. I personally don't care for the streaks, but I've learned to deal with it and it turns out most of the time. I just bought a 180 gsm journal so I'm looking forward to maybe trying some paint in mine since I do enjoy painting and now having an obsession for journaling, I would love to combine the two hobbies! Happy journaling to you!
I commented this on your insta story too but I am obsessed with green kitchens, and I LOVE my green kitchen, so LOVE LOVE your theme this month! And it instantly made me want to update my sims game with the new expansion and play that today 😂
No way you are becoming a simmer!? I've been obsessed with that game for YEARS its basically my childhood lol. Kinda in a sims slump now but its still my favorite game🤷🏼♀️😊
Omg this is ✨stunning!✨ I swear I’m in awe of people’s creativity and ability to bring ideas to life like this …sooo wish I could draw and letter in my planners like this haha love these videos! Thanks for sharing and happy August! 🥳🥂
I love love love the green cabinets! I think using the water based markers was perfect, the streaks works well here as you said. I did a Santorini/ Mykonos theme using lots of white and blue gouache paint it turned out really nice :))
I love your Monthly Spread!!! I, myself, am a @CharizzeT fan and I do believe you really captured the essence of her kitchen spread. You did a fantastic job with this. I kinda laughed when you mentioned the scrapbookish tabs. The tabs make me think of dish cloths or dish towels. Thank you so much for sharing your talents with us. I always look forward to seeing your post. For my August spread, I decided to go with the Harry Potter's Marauder's Map since most kids are going back to school in August or at least in the Southeast. I didn't really want to do a "back to school" theme with the books and pens/pencils. I wanted to do something a little more challenging for myself. I'm new to journaling so I've struggled trying to figure out what themes to do and how to set it up. But overall, I think it turned out decently. I haven't really done much drawing since middle school art class, so I'm super rusty on a lot of that. Plus, I'm somewhat of a perfectionist and if something doesn't turn out the way I'm ok with, I will scrap it or start over. Definitely something I have to work on. LOL. If I were comfortable showing my August spread, I surely would. But again, thank you for sharing yours! Happy Journaling!!!!
