The animation you see is called Rotoscoping it's were you take live action and draw the animation on top of the person to create that effect. If you have a look at Netflix's Kingdom you will see this same set. The clothing has to do with the Storyline in their MVs which is based around a multi universe. The Instruments used were traditional Korean with a mix of other's as you were aware of. The fire you see is based on a Korean folk tale on Goblins.

And 2:22 blue fire means Dokkaebi fire. "소리꾼(Sorikkun)" is a traditional Korean traditional music title, and it means a person who sings in the traditional Korean story song "판소리(Pansori)" and a person who professes to sing. Koreans know that they are "singers" as soon as they hear the word "소리꾼(sorikkun)." And "소리(sori)" means sound and voice in English.
