Very helpful information explained clearly. Thank you so much, I’ve been listening to Spotify for 6 months now free getting a feel for it and I really like it. I would probably carry on with the free version only for the fact we’re going on a cruise so I want to have music to listen to without using wifi or data. Being able to download the music to listen to off line seems to be the answer. I must admit I struggle to get my head around the technology behind the process. I take it the downloaded music is stored on the phones cache and you can clear that as and when needed without using your storage. It’s amazing how ever they do it and if it means music on the cruise I’m in! You helped me make that decision to switch. Just a question, if at some point I wanted to discontinue using Spotify all together is it true you have to do it on a computer? I’m using the iPad Pro and will also use on my Samsung phone once on premium. Thanks again 👍🏻🇬🇧

how can i stop the music recomendations
Listen, all I want to do is search for songs, add them to my playlist and listen to them, and ONLY THEM. I don't want any music suggested to me. On the free version I have added some songs, but I've not heard ONE OF THEM YET, all it will do is play the songs they added. If I purchase the premium version will I be able to play ONLY MY SONGS. Its like going to a restaurant, ordering food and the server brings you what he or she likes and says, well I know you ordered this, but you will have to eat this. I'm about to throw my phone.
Word of advice, please lower your volume while interacting with your Google home, 2 of my Google home devices reacted when you said “hey Google”.

i dont know, the updates for spotify are annoying me. it seems theyre trying to stop you from having the music, and just trying to push new music (if that makes sense). its like theyre taking away control of how you listen to what you want, limiting your ways. like, i used to be able to "save" an album, so if i heard something new and wanted to give it a try when i was free... id just save it, and itll be saved with the rest of the albums i put there. if i like the album, its always there, if not, i get rid of it. now what? they took away that feature and i either gotta follow or "like" an album i never heard. what am i missing?? we're losing control of how we listen to music... since the old school itunes. ☹️

There is one thing about spotify that I don't like. The lyrics option is useless.
If downloaded sound hound and shazam. I connect both of them to my spotify.
Is there no option how I can see the lyrics direct on spotify, rather than swichting from one music app to another?

You can create a playlist with your own album and you should be good to go. What kind of music do you create?

I am new to Spotify....i liked about 600 songs before creating a playlist.....how do I get them into a playlist that my Mighty will recognize without going into each song (three dots) and moving it into a new playlist??
It is 2021 and you cant import a playlist into Spotify. WTF. It is the little things like that which makes me disappointed in tech. We are 10 years behind in terms of user experience not because of technology, but due to business plans that try to carve out echo systems and limit what we can do because it brings in a penny more. Smart home tech is the same way.
This is a lot of good information for a beginner but the one question I am trying to get an answer for you did not address. Or if you did, I did not understand. I am trying to follow 1000 people. I am already following a lot of those 1000. That makes my playlist page very cluttered. I made a playlist titled-those i follow- please, do you know how to move the playlist I am following into my one playlist so that when I open the page I will see that one icon that I can then click on to see all whom I am following. Thanks

I have a question I hope you can answer. I transferred virtually all of my Apple Music to Spotify. It’s all pretty much there when I look at my mobile device. When I go to my CarPlay, however, and I click on artists, it only goes from A to J (Joe Walsh being the last artist is shows I have). But on the my phone I do go all the way to Z plus any groups that have numbers in their names. Any suggestions on how to fix that?

If you're on desktop and a song is on, but you forgot from which playlist it is. Just click on image of song in bottom left corner. It will open the playlist it is from. Make sure you click on image and NOT on expand button.
Am not seeing the download option anywhere 😩 even if I don't have premium an not seeing the option.
Unfortunately you have to have premium to download songs. You do or don't have premium?

It seems my long list of saved songs (took me FOREVER to put together) and now I cannot find the complete list on Spotify. REALLY upset

I have had this for a few years. Now, some guy has totally taken over. He listens to a type of music I cannot stand. So over a year later he has totally taken over my account. I just pay the bill. Say your listening to your playlist and you decide you want to delete the song from that playlist. Is there an easy way to do that?
Yes, there is, you can press the '...' button on the side and select 'remove from playlist'. Let me know if that works for you

Hi I learned a lot from the vid. The one question I have is how on my iPhone do I turn off the shuffle? I have a downloaded album, and in the middle right side it has the play button, connected to it at the 5 o'clock spot, it has the shuffle button on. How do I turn it off and listen to just this album? I push the "button" and nothing happens.... HELP

Hey Charles. I learned several things on this video but I wish you would do an addendum on how to actually download songs to make a playlist. I try to make a playlist of individual songs but I am downloading the whole album. Also how do I delete individual songs when I want a whole album except for a couple of songs.
Hi Thomas, thanks for letting me know, I think to do this you need to download songs 1 at a time if you don't want all the songs in the album, unfortuntately. You can also upload your own music to Spotify too. I have a video about that here: ua-cam.com/video/UVDhRD3GDWk/v-deo.html

@@sibusisomabura7737 Unfortunately it doesn't reach out to people, you have to share it yourself, you can start doing so by just sharing with your friends and try to get followers that way. I think that's a good first step!

Unfortunately Spotify hasn’t made a bulk playlist add a feature yet.
The thing i miss is to find new albums of artist.. Spotify mostly just show playlists.. or maybe am i doing something off

Hi ThePionier56, good question, unfortunately when you 'download' songs from Spotify you don't actually get the mp3 file to have on your computer, it's another file that allows for offline listening, so if you leave Spotify premium then I believe you cannot listen to your downloaded songs anymore because that is a specific premium feature.

Charles what does Auto Mix actually do, I can't figure it out?
Hey Marcus, i believe automix is a feature spotify was testing that was similar to crossfade but it improved the song transitions on some playlists even more, like taking out intro/outros or even extending them a but to mix into the next song.

Hi Kenneth, I believe if you can't turn it off than that might be a limiting feature spotify has so that eventually you get annoyed and start paying... unfortunately.
That is the big irritating limitation of the free version.

Unforuntatley, on the Spotify app you can't make folders but having nested folders could be an interesting feature, thanks for sharing
@@CharlesCleyn I just found a way. When Spotify is open, go up to the tool bar under File and click New Playlist Folder. Then I drag related playlists to be sub folders under the new one I've created.
