My wife and I purchased one of these exact models, taking delivery in the summer of 2021. Yes, it has everything packed into a small footprint ... so much that I am still learning a few new things every year. Besides recognizing the high quality of the design, workmanship, and durability, our only comment to future purchasers of 19' Interstates is that they are quite small. You need to use it on trip during good weather so that you can spend as much time away from its tight confines as possible ... sometimes just too tight for two adults. Otherwise, look seriously at the 24' Interstates.
You are among the best demonstrators of RVs. It makes the experience so much more interesting for the viewer. Not to disparage other RV and boat UA-camrs, but there are many that are done in frankly useless ways because they seem more hell-bent on entertaining and doing stand up comic routines. And then of course there are the ones that are not really that knowledgeable and they don’t organize, prepare or practice their presentation. They do it on the fly. Hopefully, they will see that the presentation is best when it’s prepared, practiced and carefully thought through.
That was an awesome tour of this coach! I can't imagine your having missed a thing in this coach. I've looked at tons of videos from campers to 5th wheels and up to the Class A's and this particular model does everything I need for traveling to visit family in the northern states! Thanks for all the great details. Maybe some day I can afford one of these!!
Watching this from UK in total envy of anyone who could buy that magnificent beast! Just got to say that Patrick was a first class professional in his walk-through of this camper van. There can't be anything he missed and, if there was, I don't think it would have mattered anyway! Well done Patrick!
The best most extensive walk through review I've ever seen on any RV. Thanks for making everything easy to understand. I'll get one of these when I win the lottery.
Amazing walk through as always. You mentioned the generator is quieter, I'm curious as to its actual sound level. Would love to see you do a generator noise off in the future.
Me, too! I’d been stalling on pulling the trigger and signing for the unit for a week. This video was released right at the perfect time for me! I signed for my unit the very next day! Love your reviews, Patrick. I consider them the industry standard! 😊
Wonderful picture quality. Excellent piece of machinery. Truly epic features and touches all around. My only gripe is limited availability. There are practically very little to no inventory. Hope that changes soon.
These Mercedes and Promaster dealers would do better to have Patrick do all of their demonstrations than the folks they’ve been using. This was extremely good.
The overviews that Patrick does on the various Airstream models are always very informative and helpful when comparing models and learning how things operate. Will you be doing an overview of the 2022 Interstate 24GT? Thanks!
Patrick does an excellent job of showing and explaining how the units function. Like him very much. I like the Ford Wonder Transit and Mercedes anything. However I live in Chattanooga TN. I don’t think I would be likely to winterize or take care of maintenance myself. I suppose anything is available for a price. And price is a consideration. That being said it’s not likely I’d buy from you but I feel when someone does an excellent job it should be recognized. So kudos to you Patrick. So wish I could afford a Mercedes but that’s life. It is a wonderful product. Ford is as well in its category. Wish you all well. 🎊
Great detailed video Patrick! Our family loves your videos. Can't wait to see a walkthru of the 24GT and GL 4x4. Do you know if there are plans for shoulder harnesses on the back lounge on the 24GT?
Beautiful Van. But wish it had regular gravity dump with 3 inch hose instead of macerator dump. When fully hooked at a camp site, I would like to take a nice long shower without worrying about the gray tank capacity.
PATRICK - when are we going to get a bloopers super cut. I know you're ALMOST perfect at this but surely there are some funny outtakes on the editing room floor?? :)
Well done but we are concerned that 19 ft maybe two limiting so we'd need the 24 ft Interstate models. Also, our Jeep that we'd tow would be at 4,700 lbs.
Thanks Patrick... we're quite happy with our travel trailer but it's always enjoyable to have you walk us through the latest from Airstream. Sincerely, Chris and Melinda
Video is well done and very complete, thanks for including the price. Nice vehicle but not a lot of storage for larger items like fishing poles, BBQ, inflatables, or lounge chairs. And for 180K I need to make my bed every night? Not sure I like that.
Patrick, this was a great video, best walk through of the Airstream Interstate 19 I’ve seen. You almost have me convinced to like this one over the Unity Leisure Travel Van. But one question that I didn’t hear you mention. Does the Airstream Intestate 19 have tire pressure monitoring built into the Mercedes Vehicle settings? Thanks again!
This definitely seems much higher quality than leisure travel vans which I love but this doesn’t even have a quarter of the exterior storage there unify rear twin bed offers plus they have a larger fridge and a dry bath. I wish I could have an airstream quality with a leisure van design.
@Antonio Zamudio not questioning the number of dump stations available. Im questioning theres never one when you need one. Especially at favorite campsites. Try The Sequoias in mid summer, 12 deep w Class Cs and theirv20 gal tanks of effluent. 🤢🤢🤢 No thanks.. Besides I camp now in remote areas that Class Cs cant get to, and where dumper stations are few and far between. Plus the need for 4x4 in my next B class, which is why most 4x4 Bs go cassette. Effluent in a suitcase for me brotha - find an outhouse or dig a hole. 🤘
Patrick very good video. I am in the market for a premium van. This video gave me an in-depth tour; something I was unable to get off the Benz website. Thanks,
Another excellent “showcase” review by Patrick! Among the best. Am considering the I-19 versus the Atlas. Like that I-19 is compact and fits a standard parking spot. Don’t like a wet bath. Love the bath in the Atlas. Don’t like the size for parking. What did others that considered these two extremes decide?
Excellent presentation. We would like to know if the Interstate 19 has the Mercedes option for Surround View (360 degree camera system) to make parking easier, and are the lithium batteries charged from the Mercedes alternator while driving or can they only be charged from shore power?
James, as supply chain permits, most new 2022 Interstate Nineteens will have the 2360 camera. Alternator charging is done through the DC to DC battery charger form the alternator.
Hi Patrick. Thanks for all of these. I see the 23 now has external solar ports on the side , any idea how to do that on earlier models so when parked in shade can plug in a suitcase solar panel? Do these coaches have an in house water filter? If not what do you suggest other than the input hose filter? Thank you. Ross
If you contact our service department we can certainly install external solar ports on older model Airstreams. These coaches do not come with an in house water filter, however you can install one or a lot of clients will install an external water filter attached to a hose when filling/using city water.
I have friends that have some blowup mattress/filler that goes between the two facing seats on the driver and passenger side of the lounge model. The front seats get turned around, the mattress covers the facing seats and fills the area between to the floor when filled with air. It wasn’t bad for a night, and I think it would be fine for kids. It becomes two narrow single beds when needed. When not in use, they’re stored in a ‘bag’ about the size of a sleeping bag in a cabinet or under sofa. I don’t know where they got it, or who makes it but we thought it was a great thing. ☮️
This was an excellent tour of what looks like an ideal van for someone who doesn't necessarily need to live in it full time (though I just watched a video made by someone who does, and she loves it). I wondered about the possibility of increasing the solar power so as to decrease the amount of power one needs from either a site hook-up, gas generator, or batteries. I don't know anything about how these power systems interact, so that may be phrased poorly. I'd like to be as 'off grid' as possible, and I'd be content to use some amenities less.
Thanks for watching the tour. There is a new E1 package that eliminates the LP and has a 2nd alternator, larger inverter, diesel heat and hot water and has a huge lithium battery bank.
