I watch all of your tutorials, you're a great teacher and despite the fact that I've been crocheting for 50+ years, I have learned SO MUCH from you.😃😃 But I'm sorry to say that this is one crummy tutorial!!!😖
Marlene S. Ayres Would you care to explain what makes it so "crummy?" It would be a lot more helpful and constructive if you could provide details so that Mikey can improve future tutorials if needed.
I love me some hairpin tool
I would love to know what yarn is used in the thumbnail. That is Gorgeous!
I know this comment is old but another comment said the yarn in the thumbnail is Red Heart Boutique Unforgettable.
I have this Hairpin almost 45years. Thanks to bring this again.
Love your laugh 😂... As well as well as your humor. And thanks for the tutorial.
I really like that you explain the hook motions bc when you first see it turns flips and I had no idea what yarn went through the loops. But I have learned to do it by only rotating and moving the yarn back and forth to wrap the yarn and pull through. Or maybe I'm doing it wrong but the sections seem to match what I see.
But thanks for going slow and explaining it!
I have wanted to learn again how to crochet. My mom taught me a little bit when I was about 8 years old, but I forgot. I just turned 75, & your precise and careful teaching have made it possible to crochet, thanks to you & YOU TUBE. I appreciate you making these videos! Frances
I know I'm commenting twice, but my loom came in the mail today and I'm watching a second time to practice with it. Thank you again!
Great video. My grandmother used to do hairpin and broomstick lace. Love your humor it’s simply contagious ❤️
So this is hairpin lace huh! Put me in the mind of that funky “loop it” yarn but a lot more work. I have never seen a loom like this before. Thank you for this tutorial, now I will know better!
Thank you!! I have had a hairpin lace loom for years and never have I been able to figure it out. Once again you have successfully broken it down into doable steps ❤️
I too have this type of device that I had no idea how to use. If I had known it came with a barrel of laughs I’d have used it years ago. Mikey, you have an endearing way. Thanks from Australia 🐨🐨🦘🦘 🤣😂🤣
I just love your tutorials. . You have single handedly taught me how to crochet! ❤😊
Omg i felt the exact same way when I first tried hairpin look. I felt like i had no control over anything in my hands, super humbling experience. However once i got past my existential crisis, it quickly became my favorite technique. Very beautiful results.
I love you giggling and also your work 🙌😂😂😂😂
Many Many Years!! Just found You!!💐 thank goodness!!!⭐⭐
I have made two broomstick lace scarves with that colorway from Red Heart Boutique Unforgettable-the yarn shown in the thumbnail photo of the video-so it's wonderful to see the same yarn and colorway hooked up in hairpin lace!
I think I have some of that yarn left over, and I have the loom. So yeah, I'm gonna try hairpin lace again!
Thanks, Mikey!!
Mike, thanks so much for reviving this lace. Can you please show a few more strip joining ideas ? Your tutorials are so explicit and hence hence easy to follow.
Another request can you please suggest, how many loops to be made for a shawl or a stole❤
Thank you for being so detailed and slow, showing us how to do this. I appreciate the repetition a few times also.
Though this work is beautiful results, I have found that for me, this is just too fidgety for me to work. But again, thank you SO much for taking the time to show us how it works.
Great job!
Thank you for this tutorial! I've always been too intimidated to even try hairpin lace. You're the best, Mikey!
Nice Miley
You are an awesome instructor,. I have been following you for years and you haven’t disappointed me yet. Keep up the good work

That's beautiful ,thank you Mikey
Love your humor and your laugh! I've always been intimidated by hairpin and broomstick lace. I'm gonna try hairpin now. I think my daughter and I can learn together from you mikey! What is that beautiful yarn in the thumbnail? It's gorgeous worked up on hairpin lace! Thanks so much for making so many things less intimidating!

I used to do hairpin lace in the 80s but forgot how to use the loom. I want to make a beautiful shawl for myself for the winter. Thank you.
I love your laugh! It made me smile so big!
I was disappointed to see this was all loom work, but super glad I found this channel! So many great videos I cant wait to binge. Subbed.
I don't have a look yet, but I love the look of the work. I watched this whole video because I want to get a loom and try this soon. Thank you, Mickey!!❤❤❤

OmG!! I got it!!! Even left handed!!!
This was super helpful! You explain things very well. :) I haven't wanted to try hairpin lace until now, but I'm going to the craft store tomorrow to get a loom and try it!
I’m fascinated with this tool. I really like the results
I’ve done a scarf in hairpin lace...it’s awesome. Just take your time..
Love. This!
This is going to be my quarantine project. I am dying at lick and flip
Thank you for this tutorial! I've been thinking about learning this and now I have your wonderful tutorial! Thanks again. ❤
Omg I love those colors
I didn't know there was a co-host! Awesome!
Why not just crochet it from the back ? Looks like a pain in the ass to me. I'm sure there's an easier way to do that without that contraption! But kudos to you! ❤️
Very nice 👌
I bought one too, it's still in the future project drawer lol still hadn't figured out how to use it. Thank-you for this tutorial I really needed it.
Thank you, thank you, thank you!!
Ummm, 😳😳😳😳😳 wow! Just, wow!!!!
Love you Mikey, you make crochet so much fun. Lick and flip 😂😂. Greetings from Northern Ireland
Lick and Flip! haha
I have one but never learned how to use it. I see lots of possibleties. So can you use almost any stitch with the loom. What an eye opener. Thanks for the video. Lady from Texas.
Thank you for showing me how to do this😊 I had this thing for 5yrs and never could figure out how to use it right and crochet the loops together ☺ you have encouraged me to pick up the tool and make some lace. Thank you showing this clearly and cleverly.
Hey Dan...is this your first video. I haven’t seen you in videos earlier. It’s gr8 to see you.
It’s beautiful my aunt Peggy used to do this but I never did learn it from her maybe I will learn from you Mikey thanks for sharing it🧶🧶
That's what that thing is for!! LOL OMG
Which yarn did you use? I LOVE the colors!
How to start hairpin lace
I admire your video, and now I know for sure that I don’t want to try this. 😂
You're such fun
Thanks from Qatar, I have a addinet with 3knitting needles, and I don t know how to use it, do u have a any tutorial explaining how to use it?.thanks
So besides making up pieces & then attaching them afterwards, can you make more than flat things with this? Like a sweater, baby dress, ect?
I'm not really sure. I saw this yesterday but I wanted to wait and think about that. it's a great question but I haven't seen anythin glike that.
I have an old one with a curved metal end instead of wood. Is that the same thing and is this how you would use it? I have different sizes. I always wanted to try to use them but didn't know how. Thank you.
What size is the wooden crochet hook you used to braid the loops?
What yarn did you use to make this awesome scarf?
Hey Mikey, I just feel like sharing an observation, that the hook motion is a lot like the clock going from 3 o’clock to 12 o’clock to 6 o’clock.
I cant find 2hat yarn this is, what is it?
I have to give a workshop on hairpin lace to the guild of knitting could I please use your hairpin patterns. I will say where I have got the info .
Yes that's fine. Wendy (our team member) also saw your request on Facebook and showed me earlier as well.
WAIT! I could be getting points?
I love and actually know how to do hairpin lace. I would love if you were to create motifs with the loops. Not easy to find tutorial on making motifs with the loops.
Like you I have found it impossible to find patterns. How I would love to find something beyond the basic
what make is that hairpin loom please i want one now to have a go. see what you started lol.
It's just something you can pick up at the craft store or order online. It's called a hairpin lace tool.
@@TheCrochetCrowd thankyou
What is that loom called?
I'm so confused. Don't think this is for me. But very interesting.
So it’s a form of weaving
I have to say that the looping at the ends looks like it’s tedious.
You’re so funny, 😂😂🤣
8:19 when did the two strands go you just tied on 🤔
Yep.
What a PIA.... A lot of work 😲.I would be afraid to fart😬🤫
How do you know me so well! Lol
Voice is to fast and low
LOL
