I just can't get over all the layers. The walls, ceiling and even the floor! Unbelievably thick.

Hubby and I just finished doing this in a corner of our basement. We're venting with the air conditioner into the basement. Since the earth is bermed up to the house in that corner, the northeast, on both the north and east we don't have to insulate heavily on those two sides. Very exciting to have this resource ourselves. Happy for you having it also!!

Great video, great build! That will be used for many years! I'm in my 80s now and the one that my dad had when I was growing up is still working. We used it for hanging deer, beef, and chickens, also for many vegies we grew on the farm.

What size was the room when you started? What size was it when you finished? It still looked spacious at the end. Also, what kind of door was that? Did you make it or did you buy it? What was the power of the air conditioner for the space? Great job!
Excellent video and an amazing build. Can you share details on the door? Where did you get it, brand, etc... I'm planning to build one next summer and don't want to use a standard door.

How awesome. Tons of insulation (more than I would think) means less electricity needed for cooler. One extra: How about a temp gauge mounted on the cooler exterior to help monitor inside temp without opening the door to look at the digital readout.

Hey man. Im going to be helping one of the pueblos here in nm build one of these. I think i will frame the floors at least 2x4 at 24" on center so the floors don't sag with the weight of the heavy shelves and carts etc.
Essentially a Yeti cooler you can walk into. AC unit instead of ice.

With the popularity of cold-plunges, and considering a refrigerator outputs 32-40F (0-4C)...
I'd love to remodel a bathroom, such that with a flip of a switch somewhere, ice-water comes out of the shower-head!
Any thoughts if this is do-able , or is a shower's water flow too much for on-demand ice-cold?

Nice. I would have put a light inside though. That way you can close the door behind you to keep the cool in and still be able to see to arrange everything in your shelving.
