She’s so right. Marketing, marketing, marketing is the corner stone of showcasing how and what Cambodian food is like to the world. We need to open up more Khmer restaurants and call only Khmer food and not mixed with other countries name. Thank you, congratulations and best of luck!
She is amazing! Congratulations! thanks for everything you do for us Khmers/ Cambodia 🙏. Promoting authentic Cambodian cuisine to the world. People are taking notice of our rich history and culture. Cambodian food is very delicious 🇰🇭
I suggest that anyone who claims that Saoy is a copy of Thai cuisine should actually read or buy the book before commenting. The author specifically mentions in a dedicated section of the book how the recipes are linked to Cambodian royal cuisine. The book consists of traditional Cambodian food, some of which were handed down from Cambodian royalty. There are a few Thai recipes (about 2 or 3 out of 60) that she has reinvented with her own twist, and she gives credit in the names where she did that. There is no stealing involved. Our geographical is close and that means that some ingredients are similar, but this is distinctly Cambodian food. No country owns the rights to ingredients. Your own lack of knowledge about one country's cuisine does not mean that the country lacks its own food and culture.
I saw some of the pictures and realized that I have already eaten/ have seen nearly most of it when I was a child. I can tell u that its really look like Thai cuisine. Many of the Cambodian royal used to live in BKK and influenced by Thai royal at that period and her live in US may give indirect/ direct experience about Thai food. May be that’s why it’s truely look like Thai’s
@@grapassam6864 I would agree with you that our food looks similar, but the taste not so much. Also Thai food in the US are Americanized Thai food, most of them are not authentic. To note, those food, that you have seen as a child, we have also seen and eaten. The royal that she mentioned started food adventure around 1950 -1960 which is before the war in 1970.
Ministry of culture of Thailand should protest awarding of this competition immediatety owing to the allrecipess inthis book robbed from Thai recipes without shame and terribly caused disrepute to Thai cuisine that popular well known to over the world
This sweet Khmer lady never once landed in Thailand nor thought of Thailand. Everything was documented inside Cambodia and its beautiful villages. Carry on with your thai self and no need to worry about other countries affairs. It shows racism and insecurity. Nobody asked for your thailand opinion.
I suggest anyone that said that read and buy the book first before commenting. She even mentioned it in the dedicated section of the book about the recipes and how it linked back to Cambodian's royal food. The book consisted of Cambodian Traditonal Food and some were handed down from cambodian royalty. There are a few thai recipes (probably 2 or 3 /60) that she reinvented with her own twist (she also give credit in the name if she does). There are no stealing. Your lack of information of one country doesn't mean that the country doesn't have their own food and culture.
@@pokpok561are you suggested her to wear sumpod (skirt) alone... 😅😅😅 Anyway she were right to sbai and kben...she not wear Thai traditional dress in her cover

Thanks for copy Thai food. Why don't dare to dress sumpod instead of Thai dress?
Another one that just can't handle the truth, lol
The cook book is probably a knock off Thai food recipe.
