Ukrainian drone drops bomb into Russian tank open hatch with precision

- MOMENT a Ukrainian special forces drone drops a bomb straight into a Russian T-72B3 tank's open hatch with pinpoint precision.
The footage shows a stationary Russian tank on a dirt track between a field and some trees. Shot from above by the drone, the images show the UAV dropping a bomb straight into the tank's open hatch.
The bomb explodes, causing a puff of smoke to emanate from the hatch before a secondary detonation takes place, with flames suddenly erupting from inside the military vehicle.
The images, believed to have been filmed somewhere on the frontlines, then show a second tank a little further up the dirt track also being targeted. This tank appears to be next to another military vehicle. The drone drops a couple of bombs on it before the footage ends.

When the drone pilot hit he was like "gain some height, the turret might launch any second"
With the hatch open it would not be able to reach that altitude. The hatches MUST be closed for a full liftoff.
@@briananderson8733 presumably with the hatch open there would be a massive pressure wave going vertically up out of the hatch which would smack into the drone if it's too low
What I was thinking! "Oops! Fire! Get away from that. It will pop!"
I bet the drone operator felt like I did getting long-distance head shots in COD back in the day.
@Ronnie McFloyd not against that tank :D, hope russia walks soon enough away as the wet dog it is.🤣🤣🤣🤣. I used 4 emoticons to parry that three of yours.

Blyat, this drop is what's known as a text book case.
There's one where the bomblet is headed right for a napping Rusian's chest, but he raised up a second before it hit. I think he went back to sleep, permanently.
I'll bet the operator of that tiny drone never expected to completely take out that tank. That is an efficient use of a small weapon.
of course, tanks always stand in the middle of the road with open hatches, and doused with gasoline. oscars to actors
Damn, the inferno for the crew. I'm all for Ukraine defending themselves but i have a thought for those guys who died like that.
That feels like a better death compared to others where they take several minutes to die from blast fragments or gunshot wounds. The bomb's concussive force in there would have likely knocked them out if it didn't straight up kill them.
I wonder if the crew had left the vehicle out in the open and then hid in the woods just hoping that it would get zapped like this so they wouldn't have to get back in it again.
@@michaelareay1037 I dont think so, it's 30⁰c no air conditioning they shouldn't have the hatch open but it would have been warm an they parked in the shade taking a break
@@bulkyspace I imagine that you are probably correct, my comment was more about Russian troops trying to abandon their position and get to safety, as many of them seem to do.
It sucks yes. But that’s war… they should have thought about that before invading a sovereign nation.
A very dangerous angle of attack for the drones, since they are in the direct flight path of the turrets.
-Since the drone has to be directly above the tank to drop the bomb on it that tank must have a hell of a gun elevation. 🤡😂🤣😂-
Sorry i miss understood i thought you meant the flight path of the drone was in direct fire of the tanks turret,

Totally agree, that’s the darts equivalent of 180, reactive armour won’t help in that situation. Big price to pay for some fresh air.

The fact that you recount in details the 20 second video to express yourself is just out of this world insane to read.
What I find interesting is how cheap and easy to hide it is, if Ukraine (god forbid) did lose this war this is what the Russians will be dealing with for decades from resistance forces lol they will never get a real win.

Oh boy! These guys are getting really really good at this! A tank destroyed by a mortar? That´s unheard of! Amazing precision!
"Unheard of"? Hardly. There are some pretty large mortars out there and they can be used as artillery. If you called in artillery on an enemy force in WW2 and what answered was 120mm mortar battery, they could be devastating to even the heaviest tanks - mostly because their trajectory causes them to drop onto the thinly armored top. A main battle tank destroyed by a 60mm mortar round dropped from a drone? Yeah, that's a new one!
That's not a mortar it was a drone dropped bomb.
And depending on the calibre a mortar is totally capable of taking out a tank, the weakest part of a tank is the top and since mortar bombs are fired up and drop onto their targets a smaller calibre mortar shell can take out a tank.
Kids being raised on video game turned out to be good milatary training!
Not a mortar. It's a modified soviet handheld antitank grenade called RKG-3.

Truth be told, although it is a great trick for sure - those tanks look abandoned/destroyed before they got hit by the drone. You can clearly see misaligned and bent side armor panels that is 100% not an effect of this charge being dropped.
If anything, this is used to clear insides of the tank from potential troops hiding in it after the attack.
After a few months in a war zone tanks don't look anymore like they do during a parade you know.
@@tellyboy17 I think the OP is correct. It most likely was disabled in the arty barrage that dimpled the field. These drone attacks were most likely to finis off the usefulness.
Notice the turret hit, not the hatch shot, there was no flurry of activity.
@@tellyboy17 That's not incorrect, but also not a case here. First scene you see a tank and do you know what that panel on the ground is? That's a piece of the skirt covering the tracks so it means it got a significant hit before, most likely from that arty shell exploding nearby (that got the crew partially incapacitated by over-pressure). Take a look at 0:30, you can see pieces of the reactive armor around the tank. Also, look at the ground behind the vehicles, track marks are long gone so clearly they are there for some time.
But you believe what you want to believe. This is just a cleanup operation on wrecks. They got destroyed earlier.
