First ever commentary video, not too sure why I made it but I am quite happy with it, could be improved especially wording but it's a good start. Love you lads. Mornin'
Thank you Dominic! I am always glad to hear some feedback, I know I definitely have an issue with saying "Really", "Great" and "Very" way too much. Hopefully if you come across me again it will be upgraded from Decent to Great! :D
I recently got my Pico 4 and it is so much nicer than the Quest 2 (which I upgraded from). Softare issues and exclusive games aside it's a much nicer headset to own and use. The counterweight makes it so much more comfortable to wear for hours at a time than the Quest and the motorised IPD is much nicer than the manual step IPD that the Quest 2 uses. The wireless PCVR is flawless (minus Discord streaming the VR status bar instead of the game, but that's a separate issue). So far I've tried NMS, gmod, Bonelab and RecRoom all through VD and I've seen no issues minus some rotational-tracking error in the SteamVR loading screens, which doesn't matter. If you are getting into VR for the first time and have the PC for it I absolutely would recommend the Pico 4 for the time being. In my experience the PCVR for Quest 2 was lackluster, it didn't run properly with heavy frame drops. And that was after it took me a week to properly set up. Pico 4 9/10 would recommend.
Well you rounded it all up for me then hahah! I wasn't aware that PCVR for the Quest wasn't great, I always assumed it was good cause I never heard any issues but I agree with your sentiment about the PICO, definitely an incredible headset for the price! :)
@@Sponkaroo also gonna hijack this to say I enjoyed the video too. It was paced well, had good editing and made me chuckle a few times. From your other videos it seems you stream, do you still? You seem like a chill guy to just watch when I'm not doing much. I subscribed, excited to see what you have in store for the future.
Hahah thank you, I am happy to hear that, hopefully you end up staying a while! I used to stream quite a bit but it is a lot less often now due to work and studying, but if I do stream again it will be on UA-cam just not too sure what it will be just yet! :)
So nice to hear... :) since I sold my Quest 2 after got disappointed mainly by it's low FOV so it's good to hear Pico 4 is much better than Quest 2...I ordered my Pico 4 two days ago, hopefully it's gonna be good.
Nice commentary on the Pico 4! I just bought one, and it'll be here next week. Other than finger tracking, this headset will be better than my Index. And I'm excited. Higher resolution, same FOV (thank goodness it's not lower. XD), better lenses, lighter design, and wireless capabilities! I'm even thinking about picking up some Logitech Chorus's so I can get the Index audio on the Pico.
I must admit, I bought some really good wires to do Wired VR which I thought I would love cause its how I started with the Rift S but my god... When you go wireless you seriously notice the wire once going back hahah! I hope you enjoy the headset! I was actually thinking of getting the Index but went with the Pico cause I imagine Valve will bring out a headset at some point that is better :D
If you want really good sound then I would recommend Bose QuietComfort 35 Headphones II. It's the best Bluetooth headphones I've ever had and there aren't any delay.
4:26 That's me haha! I also got a pico 4 and it's really great, it's my first vr headset so I can't really compare it to anything but the experience has been great! Thanks for dancing with me on the battlefield ;D
Oh my! Very coincidental that you managed to stumble across the video hahah, Glad you're liking the headset and hope to dance on the battlefield with you again! :D
Yeah 100%, I had never used it before getting the PICO but I am more than impressed with how versatile it really is. Just a shame that the PICO solution for wireless streaming isn't very good at the moment :(
Dont know if its mentioned in the comments already, but you can also connect via ETHERNET CABLE with and adapter to USB-C. Havent tried, but ethernet cables are cheaper and lighter than 5m usbc cables
I tried the pico at gamescom in köln. I had one major problem whit it the sound i heard nearly nothing because the speakers are on the front i think and not at the ears
They have some speakers built in near the ears that to be honest are definitely serviceable, I have heard some people say it's on par or better than the Quest 2, but I play with headphones anyway so I dont use them much :)
I currently have a Quest 2 but i just sent my left controller to get the stick drift fixed. Took me 3 days to get them to cooperate and I've honestly gotten terrible service 3 times with customer service so I'm definetly getting myself a Pico 4 just so I don't have to deal with Zucks shitty customer service.
Yeah I had to go through the same thing with my Rift S and they replied after about a week and not only that but they just disregarded everything :( Goodluck with the PICO! I have been loving it so far and I am really impressed with the battery life of the controllers, I have had it since it came out and I havent had to change the batteries once yet which is insane! :D
Hahaha it genuinely is hilarious, pretty much means that nothing is exclusive at all if you play through PC xd I use it to play Blade & Sorcery and Stormland, gotta love VD :D
I gotmy Pico 4 yesterday. I also have the Quest 2. After having used the Pico 4 for a while watching some of the video content on offer and playing Walkabout Mini Golf, I went back to the Q2 just to compare. The first thing I noticed is how limited the FOV really is on the Q2. It really is like you're looking through a pipe, or wearing severely limiting sky goggles. So I think as far as hardware and out of the box experience is concerned, the Pico doeshave the advantage. The software does need a few more upgrades. It feels a little cluttered and just a bit rough around the edges at times.Having said that, it seems that the Pico was intended with people like my face-shape in mind as I didn't experience any light leakage from the edges, and once i had the nose flap installed I didn't get any light from that direction either. The image quality really is something to behold. They have a movie where a bunch of neon-style guys are dancing to a pretty much black background. In Quest that wwould've been godray hell, but on the Pico it's just magic. So yeah.cool and comfortable (to me ) headset. if you get it, make sure not to put it on too tight, but just have it a bit loose where the front gently leans against your forehead. That's how it's most comfortable to me. The audio is nice too..not audiophile quality, but certainly not worse than Quest 2.
One of the bad things about Quest 2 was the low FOV...it was too low for me to get immersed, I was always reminded by how limiting its FOV was..so I sold it (like a year+ ago) meanwhile I was using my Quest 1 but 2 days ago finally I decided to order my Pico 4...finally a good standalone VR HMD.
hahahah of course! There is more on the way! I am aiming for weekly if I can but work and studying can be a bitch sometimes so might be a couple days late sometimes! :D
So I been coming from using the OG Oculus Rift (not the rift s,) and when I was looking for what headsets there are Pico 4 caught my eye. after several reviews I decided to give this headset a chance and Bought it. I exclusively use it for pcVR and It is for sure a massive upgrade from what I'm used to but I must admit that it wasn't as much leap and bounds as I expected (set my my expectations too high i guess,) but still high enough to be pleased with it. Had some issues with the headset fitting my face. The gasket has this plastic part that puts a lot of pressure on the top of my nose bone to the point that it begins to hurt after a few min in but seeing that there will be gaskets coming out in time I decided to keep my headset as it was pretty nice otherwise. It got a bit more expensive for me as I also had to buy a new router as My current one didn't have 5g and 2,4 router is not playable at all, so had to pay a 150dollar router just to be able to play wireless. But It wasn't too much of a deal so after that purchase I was all good. Haven't played much as I don't have many games I enjoy yet but It really sparked my passion for VR again ^^
I had a similar experience at the start, for some reason the back of my head would really hurt after 15 minutes but that just went away after a day so I didnt mention it, not sure what it was but the padding is wuite hard until worn in a bit. I am happy to hear you passion for VR is back, I hope you enjoy the time back! :)
I got my Pico 4 few days ago from Amazon, and I just had to return it. Comparing it directly to Quest 2, which I own from its launch, Pico 4 has better hardware - lenses, resolution, its smaller and more comfortable. PCVR on the other hand is the reason I returned it. While using the Streaming Assistant wired, I couldnt achieve the same image quality and latency as on Quest 2 (wired or wireless), it was just awful. Then Ive tried Virtual Desktop, and finally Pico 4 was usable, but there was still a little bit of delay while playing Beat Saber. Even when Ive tried wired VD (enable USB tethering, connect VD, disconnect WiFi to make sure it goes over the cable) it was identical to wireless. So far, Ive had the best PCVR experience with wired Quest 2 using their software. I was really hoping that Pico 4 would change that and I would have a new headset to play PCVR, but still after the good experiences with VD, the latency was a deal breaker, mainly because of Beat Saber, which Iam still playing pretty actively on both PCVR and standalone. IMO, if you have a PICO 4, Virtual Desktop is a requirement for a pleasant PCVR. If you dont care about latency so much, you will be happy
I agree completely with you, I can't lie that when I originally got it, I was very disappointed with the input lag on Beat Saber, so I decided to just stop playing it altogether which is a shame. I noticed that all other games I played seem to have little to no input lag (at least not that I can notice) but Beat Saber is very noticeable, probably just due to the much faster nature of the game, missing getting better at that game and doing FCs. At least you can say you tried it and it just wasn't for you, so I am glad you were able to return it with no issues! :)
You can play PC Oculus games on the Pico via the PC Oculus store. I have a couple of games in the Oculus Store from my old Rift and can play then just fine via Virtual Desktop. I'm glad I picked the Pico 4 for PCVR.
HEYA, Q2 user here who ALSO Uses VD? I"Ve used it with my mobile hotspot from over 15 miles away. My laptop was sitting right here at home on the charer, which was a life saver because I used to take my entire gaming laptop to my friends house. (Before I remembered and realized VD is a giant cloud server.) SO the part about playing it from one floor away? I feel it.
It is honestly like magic I cant lie! I also didn't know that VD is a cloud server!? that is insane, might have to quickly go to a different country just to experience the pure insanity of it xd
I have an index with a leather VRCover interface and bought the pico 4 since i wanted to try standalone. Honestly, the pico 4 is sooo uncomfortable. It really hurts on my face so unfortunately i need to return it even though i really like the pancake lenses.
The water effect sounds like space warp, which kicks in when your pc is rendering at a lower fps than the headset's refresh rate. This exists in all headsets. Since pico has a really high resolution display, try lowering the resolution and refresh rate and, if there is an option to, turn off space warp. In airlink(quest) it is called ASW and in virtual desktop it is called SSW. And I am pretty sure you are aware of the whole dedicated router, only headset on 5 ghz AP spiel.
Cheers for the heads up I actually didn't know that, I will definitely give the PICO software another chance with your advice in mind! :) It seems to run everything perfect with VD but with native software it isn't the best and warps, I would hope that my PC could keep up it is a newer PC with an RTX 3070 Ti but I don't really know. Tbh I think it is just the cable I am using not being able to transmit data efficiently enough but I have also heard across the board that the native software is miles behind VD, either way I will give it another test :D
@@Sponkaroo The pico 4 has 2 2160x2160 displays which is 9.3 megapixels, and a 4k (3840x2160) monitor is 8.3 megapixels. Now for VR you need to render more pixels than there are on the display to compensate for lens distortion. Which means your pc actually has to render at 3168x3168x2(equivalent to godlike setting on VD), which is now 20 megapixles, to see the native resolution of the display. Almost 2.5 times the number of pixels of one 4k display. Now imagine running that at 90hz and never dropping any frames for a smooth experience. VR is hard to run. Also make sure steamVR is set to 100% resolution scale so that it is not trying to super sample or if it is automatically set to a resolution lower than 100% just lower it in VD or pico software.
That makes a lot more sense now, thank you for the explanation! I will play around with all the settings tomorrow and draw some comparisons from VD and the PICO software with and without a direct USB-C connection and see which one works best! :D
No worries man, I am glad you enjoyed! I will have a look and maybe make a video about it. I have heard very good things about it though so I am sure it looks and feels amazing :)
Yeah I used to play it on Steam, I can actually boot it up and everything but the input delay from the wireless streaming is very noticeable on fast songs, I think my internet just can't keep up hahah :)
Thanks for sharing. I would have like a more in depth comparison between the lenses (fresnel vs pancake). I feel that is the biggest diff for a new PCVR person like me who is looking to buy a device soon.
No problem, glad you enjoyed! I was thinking about getting into the lenses but in all honesty I don't think I have enough experience with other headsets to really nail down the drawbacks of either, but I will say that the Pancake lenses in my opinion are much better, there is a noticeable jump in FOV from the Rift S and it's amazing! One drawback with the PICO however is some people have light leakage depending on your head shape, I personally haven't had any issues with it as I have a fat head hahah but I am sure due to the spike in popularity with the PICO, 3rd party accessories will be made to accommodate all head shapes! :)
@@Sponkaroo Fair enough. I was inerrested in god rays (a second ghost of an image that is shifted diagonally but not as pronounced as the ligitimate one) in a game such as Elite Dangerous (mainly black with some bright colours). I've read that it is very tirering with Fresnel lenses and someone said that with pancake they are completly gone.
My vr world started when I got psvr on release day then I made a massive upgrade to the quest 2 a month after that was released, then about four days ago I got the pico 4 which while not being a massive upgrade from quest 2 it is still an upgrade,I will be keeping my quest 2 as I have got 220 games on it,I hope more games will be coming to the pico 4 as it has a lot of potential, just hope the controllers don’t get drifty like the quest 2 ones do from time to time
that is quite the portfolio of VR headsets hahah! Do you mainly play standalone VR then? I am just guessing cause if you have a PC you could play the oculus games through the PICO with VD :D
@@Sponkaroo I sold my psvr because I just wasn’t using it due to having the quest 2, but I’m keeping the quest 2 and the pico,I’ve got a MacBook Pro but that’s really just for music production for my band
Great video man, just bought a PICO 4 here in Singapore on 11.11 sale for only 432 SGD (~267 GBP), a LOT cheaper in than in the UK. I'm yet to receive it but I've been looking to the internet for validation that I made the right choice. Your vid definately helped, especially the fact that I paid a lot less thel you lol, so thanks! Also, you ought to have a ton more subs!!
Thank you so much man, I appreciate the kind words! I am jealous you managed to get it for so cheap! 100% a bargain for that price! I hope you enjoy the headset! :D
@@Sponkaroo I can't wait to try it out, my first VR headset ever! Looking forward to your future vids too.. do a few more VR stuff.. good or bad, the metaverse is enticing
BTW, with the Pico 4 YOU HAVE TO USE VIRTUAL DESKTOP. Don't try to do PCVR with their wireless connection or link alone. Wont work well. It reduces the stream output for some reason. Connect to Virtual Desktop to get the real experience.
I get my Pico 4 in 2-3 weeks and I'm so hyped to get it because my current headset is the OG HTC Vive and I stopped using you because of how long it took to unpack and setup and also how bad the display is when looking through fornell lens. I was going to buy a Quest 2 but then I stumpled unto Pico 4 and found out it was much better hardware.
Nice review m8, I've also bought the pico 4, and I am upgrading from my rift s, can't wait for it to arrive tbh, it's going to be nice to have much better resolution and to be free of that cable, umbilical cord.
Cheers man it is much appreciated! Hopefully you are as impressed with the clarity with the visuals as I was, you're in for a nice treat from the Rift S! Enjoy the new headset brother! :)
@@Sponkaroo Yeah I'm canny excited to be honest, those god rays drove me mad but at the time that's all there was, and I just don't want a meta account. Ordered my VR Optician lenses also.😺
Thank you, I am glad you enjoyed! I will try make the videos better and better as time goes on and as I get used to commentating, just need a good topic now! :D
Hahaha literally, although I think that VR is a little less toxic than what the console wars were, also good thing we have some genuine competition now that is willing to make headsets cheaper, it will always lead to better products and prices for us! :)
Hello . In pcvr with the pico streaming software you need to put 200% résolution in Steam option to have a good quality image. That change everything 👍
I've unfortunately only had the opportunity to try the rift :( Although I am looking at the new Pimax headsets and considering getting one of them (when they come out) to review it but I don't know if I am the man for the job hahah :D
Pico 4 has a Virtual Desktop PCVR device seems acceptable. I don't play mobile games. Although I find that option to be have been great where pc parts were hard to find and now are overly expensive.
Nice review, thanks! Do you use a dedicated router for Virtual Desktop? What is your setup? I'm worried about streaming PCVR and the compressed image quality
Glad you enjoyed! :) I actually use just my home router for VD and it works great! The compressed quality just comes from the software that comes with the PICO for wireless connection, I would say VD is miles better! I think most people have issues with their router due to too many devices in the 5GHz radio frequency being used near the headset but I am just guessing hahah. I have put some of my PC specs and internet speed below, hopefully it helps you out! :) Download: 140.85 Mbps Upload: 29.60 Mbps GPU: NVIDIA RTX 3070 Ti CPU: 12th Gen Intel Core i7-12700KF RAM: 32 GB DDR5 CORSAIR VENGEANCE Power Supply: MSI MPG 850W A850GF POWER SUPPLY - MPG OS: Windows 11
I've got an Quest 2 since release and just have my Pico 4 for a month now. The Hardware of the Pico and visuals are bit better, mostly the sweet spot which is massively better with the Pico 4. The Pico 4 is more comfortable because the Battery is on the back. However the software on the quest is MUCH better as of now. I cant even watch Netflix on Pico Browser because it is outdated :(. The Quest 2 with its strap is for me great for watching Netflix and other streaming services while the Pico 4 is now my main gaming device for VR.
Thank you! That's great, I hope you are enjoying it so far! :D As for games, I would recommend Skyrim VR (With mods), Budget Cuts (1 or 2) and my personal favourite Beat saber! :)
@@AnotherAnonymousMan ALSO Haha if you're into horror, there's always FNaF Help Wanted as well as Wraith the Oblivion Afterlife. Lastly there's The Exorcist Legion.
I wouldn't be too sure, from what I know the PSVR2 is not officially supported for PC however there is going to be someone that will most likely make a program that supports it. Honestly if you are thinking of getting the PSVR2 it might be best to wait for it and then wait a few weeks to see if anyone makes it compatible with PC, if you can't wait then a PICO is a good choice if you have good WiFi! :)
quick tip bois, don't buy from Japan on Ebay I did that mistake because was none left to buy or pre-order on amazon end up paying around 98£ Pounds of importation fees.
Oh my god that is ridiculous, seems like quite the scam by customs, I remember I bought a hoodie from the US and it was like double the price in importation, its just not it :(
The usb connection actually works great . Maybe your cable is bad. Something is wrong with your Pc or video card is old? I use the wired connection with Steam Vr and have no problems , smooth as silk. Don’t forget to upscale the render in steam by 40% , to account for barrel correction. Pico 4 is 2160x2160 native per eye, so to actually see that res , upscale the render to around 2560x2560 . Hence, you need a good graphic card. I use a 3080ti and I couldn’t be happier . Cheers,
Alright that is good to know! Definitely my cable then, just out of curiosity what cable do you use? Should be all good on the video card side as I have a 3070Ti. Much appreciated with letting me know! :)
Everything is all good in Virtual Desktop, it is only when using the native PICO software where this problem happens, but I will disable them and see if that helps out with the official PICO software :)
I had given it a go before but I notice that on harder songs the input lag gets quite noticeable compared to a direct connection, I will give it another go though and hopefully I will have better luck :) Maybe my internet is just too dogshit to keep up hahah
@@Sponkaroo sorry didn't know that as I've not tried it. I only got my Pico 4 on Thursday and all this VR stuff is new to an old git like me but having fun
Hahahha that's great to hear! I love hearing about newer people getting into VR, especially if they are a bit older, it makes for a genuine and wholesome community, I hope you are enjoying the headset! :)
Hi Phil, Of course! I will leave a little list of some of the parts below :) GPU: NVIDIA RTX 3070 Ti CPU: 12th Gen Intel Core i7-12700KF RAM: 32 GB DDR5 CORSAIR VENGEANCE Power Supply: MSI MPG 850W A850GF POWER SUPPLY - MPG OS: Windows 11 Hope that helps :)
Thank you! I tried to be as unbiased as possible, however I am looking forward to what the headset has in store in the future with software updates, I think hand tracking is also in the works so could be a bright future ahead for VR Competition! :)
Nice video, I did think about the Pico for about 3 seconds then realized the software would be shite so didn't bother LOL! To be fair it's a great headset, like you said the issues are the software and that will improve. Also, you have PCVR Oculus Store compatibility so you can play Beat Sabre as well if you own it. Not sure what headset I'll go for next. I was interested in the Quest Pro but that has more software issues than Pico, it's largely a Beta device based on a legacy XR2 processor. When Quest Pro 2 comes around that could be a much better proposition but we'll see, it's never going to match a dedicated PCVR headset like the Pimax Reality but their software is shite as well... 👍
Hahaha you're right, it'll take time for headsets to get into the new realm of using the new chipsets and actually taking advantage of them, I am curious where the average price will go, as it was going down for years and now is bumping back up again. Software is just going to have to get better overtime, seems like everyone is putting it on the back burner for hardware instead hahah :D
With VD its awesome. But you need a VR ready pc to enjoy and take the most of the glasses. Otherwise, due to the store, right now Oculus can be the best for the ones that are only looking for stand-alone experiences. Hopefully its going to balance in the future
Yeah that is true, I also don't see developers making separate graphics just for the PICO either which is a shame, but you never know as the headset is quite popular :)
I just got mine. I think for pc-vr it is a nobrainer. I already have a Vive Pro wireless with Index controllers. Sure, the Vive has better tracking, better blacklevels and I find that compression wise it is also better, but the Pico 4 wins in the screen door department, and more importantly in how easy it is to put on, comfortable to wear etc. I much rather pick up this to play than the Vive, unless I play some game with a lot of darkness in it (due to blacklevels). Normally it also beats the Vive in terms of lenses which uses Fresnel lenses rather than the pancake lens of the Pico, but I modded my Vive with the GearVR lens mod, so it also is quite good in that department. As a standalone, I'm not sure how many games I will be buying, the selection isn't great, so if all you do is standalone, you are probably better off with a quest 2 or wait for quest 3, even if the quest 2 is not quite as good visually.
Thank you, I am glad you enjoyed! I was the same with my Rift S, I can't lie I am quite sad that the PICO can't play it with noticeable input lag over WiFi, missing the days of slashing 2k blocks :(
Receiving my tomorrow…can’t wait since I also upgraded from Rift S. Rift S was Better than PSVR 1 that had to many cables and screen door affect, rift s has some screen door which annoyed me still and couldn’t relax elsewhere just to watch movies. Now pico hopefully will be what I love. I’ll post my profile when it arrives if ya wanna join any multiplayer games when I’m not working for once 🙄😂
Well hopefully it comes soon and you end up liking it! I had a similar thing happen when I got my Rift S a couple years ago, took 3 weeks to deliver! :D
Cancel your order by calling your credit card company. That’s what I had to do as they gave me the runaround. Best to get them from Amazon or eBay instead.
have you tried without the facemask? the difference is huuuuge. Once you've tried you don't want to go back. I seriously wish we get a guest pro type solution for P4, that forehead cushion.
I cant say I have tried it without the Facemask yet, I will be sure to give it a go as soon as I fire the headset back up :) Does the light not get into the lenses and make it worse? Also can't wait for some Accessories for this headset to be made so it is a little more comfortable, that's why I am so happy to see all the people considering this as an actual competitor to the Quest :D
I am honestly not too sure, I just had a look and it looks like people are having issues, I have heard that depending on your head shape it can let in a lot of light, I personally don't have this issue however I am sure there will be accessories made by 3rd parties to fix this. In my time with it, I have had very little issues but everyone has different experiences! :)
I reckon it'll not be too long before the community find a way to side-load Quest games in the Pico 4 😉
Oh definitely! You can actually play Oculus games through VD on the PICO but maybe there will be a way to do it without a connection to a PC soon :D
That’s what I’m waiting on!

The first two games were Contractors VR (Starwars and MW3 Mod) and the last game was Stride! :)
what game are you playing in the beginning and is that on the quest 2 and also i will check out the Pico 4
I am pretty sure it is on the Quest 2 but I am not 100% sure, it was Contractors VR using the Battlefront mod :)
@@Sponkaroo ok thank you awesome video btw
No problemo and thank you! :D
The fact you can play oculus games on virtual desktop with the pico 4 is just hilarious
One of the bad things about Quest 2 was the low FOV...it was too low for me to get immersed, I was always reminded by how limiting its FOV was..so I sold it (like a year+ ago) meanwhile I was using my Quest 1 but 2 days ago finally I decided to order my Pico 4...finally a good standalone VR HMD.
more commentary please, I just subbed for this lol
hahahah of course!
Wait a second. Does VD really have a USB option exclusive to PICO 4?
@@Shadow_banned_by_UA-cam not exclusive to Pico, its a adb command that goes into the menu and enables USB tethering for you
You can play PC Oculus games on the Pico via the PC Oculus store. I have a couple of games in the Oculus Store from my old Rift and can play then just fine via Virtual Desktop. I'm glad I picked the Pico 4 for PCVR.
Your content is wonderful🧙🏼♂️‼️
HEYA, Q2 user here who ALSO Uses VD? I"Ve used it with my mobile hotspot from over 15 miles away. My laptop was sitting right here at home on the charer, which was a life saver because I used to take my entire gaming laptop to my friends house. (Before I remembered and realized VD is a giant cloud server.) SO the part about playing it from one floor away? I feel it.
It is honestly like magic I cant lie! I also didn't know that VD is a cloud server!? that is insane, might have to quickly go to a different country just to experience the pure insanity of it xd
get a pico, sideload an app to autostart things on boot, make virtual desktop launch on boot up. Congratz you now have a great wireless pcvr setup
That's the trick! I still am in awe at how insane VD really is, such an amazing app :)
Hi, thanks for the review. Could you pls try Elite dangerous with Pico 4 and tell if it's OK experience. Much appreciated.
No worries man, I am glad you enjoyed! I will have a look and maybe make a video about it. I have heard very good things about it though so I am sure it looks and feels amazing :)
Beat Sabre is on Steam
I've read that it is very tirering with Fresnel lenses and someone said that with pancake they are completly gone.
ok i have seen a tone of reviews about pico4. This review is the most honest!
Hahah Thank you! I tried to stay as unbiased as possible but it was hard as I do personally love the headset, but everything has it's flaws! :)
How's it holding up now?
You can play oculus titles on Virtual Desktop and Pico 4.
Well I hope you love it! It will be a huge jump from the Vive, if you get the chance, let me know how you like it! :D

It’s funny to me how the next PlayStation vs Xbox is happening on VR.
Hahaha literally, although I think that VR is a little less toxic than what the console wars were, also good thing we have some genuine competition now that is willing to make headsets cheaper, it will always lead to better products and prices for us! :)
PICO 4 Supports Mods in Contractors and other games?
Hello . In pcvr with the pico streaming software you need to put 200% résolution in Steam option to have a good quality image. That change everything 👍
Oh Perfect! I will give that a go, not sure if my PC would be able to handle it but I will try! :)

Pico 4 has a Virtual Desktop PCVR device seems acceptable. I don't play mobile games. Although I find that option to be have been great where pc parts were hard to find and now are overly expensive.
Pretty nice vid🔥 I subscribed:)
Thank you, I really appreciate it! I am glad you enjoyed and I hope that you will stay a while! :)
Nice review, thanks! Do you use a dedicated router for Virtual Desktop? What is your setup? I'm worried about streaming PCVR and the compressed image quality
Glad you enjoyed! :)
I actually use just my home router for VD and it works great! :)

It has to be done at least once, lets be honest
Nice review!
Mine arrived two days ago! Do you have any recommendations for Steam VR if you aren't much into first person shooters??
Thank you! That's great, I hope you are enjoying it so far! :D
As for games, I would recommend Skyrim VR (With mods), Budget Cuts (1 or 2) and my personal favourite Beat saber! :)

Would you consider it to be worth the wait for the PSVR2 release if I only want to play PCVR games ? (price is not important)
92.66 pounds to be precise :(
Oh my god that is ridiculous, seems like quite the scam by customs, I remember I bought a hoodie from the US and it was like double the price in importation, its just not it :(
The usb connection actually works great .
Disable space warp and motion smoothing in steamvr and virtual desktop and you'll be fine. Pico4 it self is not responsible for this problem.
Everything is all good in Virtual Desktop, it is only when using the native PICO software where this problem happens, but I will disable them and see if that helps out with the official PICO software :)
If you have set up virtual desktop you can get beat saber via your steam account
I had given it a go before but I notice that on harder songs the input lag gets quite noticeable compared to a direct connection, I will give it another go though and hopefully I will have better luck :) Maybe my internet is just too dogshit to keep up hahah

This was a fair-minded review. I have a Pico 4 and echo your thoughts.
Thank you! I tried to be as unbiased as possible, however I am looking forward to what the headset has in store in the future with software updates, I think hand tracking is also in the works so could be a bright future ahead for VR Competition! :)
@@Sponkaroo I can't get over how great Virtual Desktop is for gaming. With a wired PC and a Wifi 6 router, it's impressive.
Yeah that is true, I also don't see developers making separate graphics just for the PICO either which is a shame, but you never know as the headset is quite popular :)
great vid
Thank you Nadare! I appreciate it! :)

Great video, im a stick with my vive, only really use it for beatsaber
