    That was excellent! Whoever presented it was wonderful. Many educational presentations are boring & soporific but this presenter’s energy & personality kept my attention & interest.

    absolutely love how rich Florida's wildlife is. especially the birds! didn't think I'd enjoy living here so much but it's great for nature lovers

    I've heard that woodstorks are also bioindicators. Which is good since I've been seeing them around quite a bit lately. What are those huge birds that I see in central Florida a lot? They're huge, they have red on the top of their heads and if memory serves, like a weird spikey crest. They're the type of bird when you see them you say "Ooh, look at that." At least I do. Do you know what I'm talking about? I can't find one on Google images.

      Sandhill Cranes are the large birds with a prominent red crest in central/southern FL, but it's possible you're also describing a Great Blue Heron in mating plumage.
