Great podcast! Lol. Interesting! I love how they work directly into a camera! Might get these for fun since they are only 77. When I use to do sound for my church, we used and still use 4 wireless Beta SM58 mics and they require AA batteries. Pain in the butt and always die at the worst times
Yeaaaaah I hate batteries....but some energizer lithiums would last a loooong time... But man those are expensive! Funny you commented... I just watched your instalink 360 video. Good stuff
@@ObscureMics thanks! I really struggled with learning how important it is to edit videos in the same FPS that you record in when making that video. Created some serious issues with lag. Lesson learned. Going to make a “6 month later -update review” on it.. mostly so I can redeem myself on the lag issues. 🤦🏻♂️
Hello! I love these mics! I have the pdp-1 and the pdp-2. I love them! They are phenomenal sounding. My only gripe is the dongle receiver doesn't show of the dongle is charging or fully charged. It is big guessing game. So when I bring it somewhere, I really have no idea how much the dongle has on it Also the 45 degree angle accessory they give you is too loose. Both of mine just falls over. So instead of having your dongle facing up as recommended,it simply falls over and ends up facing down. It's pretty useless. Luckily I still have had no issues with it regardless of that issue. I do highly recommend these mics. If anyone has any answers on the charging issue, let me know please.
Do you need an interface for a PA System for a small show? Reason I'm asking, I have phenyx pro (PTU-71-1H1B)with interface and just purchased the headset version PDP-1-1B. Would i be ok not using the interface for shows?
Damn. Thats pretty decent. Whats battery life like? Is there noticeable latency with the receiver and monitoring? I have a pair of saramonic lav systems for interviews. The latency is borderline unusable even though they sound great, i usually have to slide the audio back a a good chunk in post.
Dull and muffled in the 3kHz range, a little too warm on the bottom, around 60-80Hz, but for what it is, not bad. Could be easily eq'd out, I suspect. I wonder how solid the wireless connection is? I also wonder about the clipping I heard on your mic in the "not a real podcast" podcast....
Hey, watermelon Monster Rehab is awesome stuff! What's Adam's problem, man? But about the mics... they sound pretty good for what they are, but it bears repeating that when a setup like this is used to record two people, the audio from both mics is going to be combined on one track. If you're wanting to have each person's audio on its own track, this isn't going to do it for you.
Those wind screens remind me of the fake socks they have at shoe stores that you throw away when you’re done.
LOL NAILED IT
These Phenyx Pro PDP Wireless Microphones Sound Amazing For The Price! 💯
Definitely solid!

Should be pretty good in a bad room and minimize any crosstalk. 😃👍
Could absolutely do worse

Yeah, this is a good buy. Sound is not too shabby at all. Off-axis rejection is insane! Any idea how far from the receive you can be?
I did not test that entirely but I did go about 50 feet from it in testing...just wasnt a video test
They sound real good!
Absolutely

I haven't killed the included batteries yet, but only have 2 hours of use on em... Latency is shockingly fine

I got a wee bit loud lol. No volume adjustment is not a great thing but for what it is.... I like it alright
@@ObscureMics Are there two separate audio outs, one for each mic, or are they mixed together?
Mixed
@@ObscureMicsthats a deal breaker right there for me. Was the other question i forgot to ask.
@@ObscureMicsif you use it with a good mixing board you are good on the volume & eq adjustment

Correct. I will say... For a podcast... I dont bother with multi-track
Oh and Adam got hurt by a monster juice too.... Must just be him
shame it's not usb c. they could do it, they have a digital signal there somewhere, just get rid of the dac entirely
Truth
It’s usb C to charge at least!
$77? Not bad
A lot of these wireless mics sound better than one would think
