I work with a production standard, which means the office monitors every keystroke we make while we're working from home. When we're away from our computers, a yellow light comes on, and it turns green when we return. Working as a Chicago VA benefits adjudicator from home helps me concentrate better, reduces the need to take days off, minimizes office harassment and bullying, and cuts down on gas and mileage. I enjoy TD Jakes, but I want to make sure everyone understands the benefits of working from home.
I'm glad you posted this, I believe his perspective about working from home needs to be revisited. Everyone's situation is different & it's no one size fits all. Times have changed drastically, and I think it's easier for him to state this because technically he's an "employer" and entrepreneur thus his approach to this topic is biased.
Agreed, this was more his perspective. We live 45-50 minutes away from our jobs, and working from home saves gas. Me working in an office setting won't fix the economy. Until the price of housing goes down in the city, a lot of us have to commute from rural communities with affordable housing. The work from home option is a God send for us.
