Saw them about 7 years ago (for the third time) and between bands Chris actually came out on stage to grab his sticks and somehow nobody even batted an eye. Me and my buddy started shouting his name from the crowd and he looked directly at us, smiled and waved, and went backstage. Such a cool moment, and such a cool dude
@@LeakyJAZZ doubt it, listen to the dude talk at the end (this doesnt sound sped up to me). I think its performance anxiety but it is beautiful how tight they remain with the sped up tempo
@@fredericlariviere9875 when I said that I must've been noticing the drummers crazy right hand on the ride cymbal. also, I doubt it's anxiety, probably just like to do it fast live.
@@LeakyJAZZ i didnt mean bad anxiety, more like hype (aka eustress) :P but yeah the drummer has crazy endurance and keeps the whole thing so tight for the whole set. Seen em live a bunch of times and my mind is blown on every occasion. Peak music originality and showmanship, 11/10 much recommend to all that havnt experienced the crazy ambience they put on
I argued with my brother for a long ass time about whether this was sped up post performance.... I still don't think it is! I think they were just burning on that day.
RIP Mathew Stewert It wont be the same without you. Thank you for melting my face off at every show !!!!!!! Somewher in the in-between you made one hell of a mark and will be missed .....
2:37 why, WHY do almost all these videos cut away from the drummer during the most impressive parts of the song? That was a killer snare roll and one of the only parts of the entire video where they take him completely out of frame.
Rest in peace Matthew Brandon Stewart you will be forever loved and missed ❤ it's gonna be tough going to Streetlight shows in the future and you not being there. Thank you for being such a kind soul to everyone you inspired and made feel welcome at shows. ❤. You are an absolute hero to me personally and have inspired me to thrive musically even if for me it's just for fun 😅 But for real RIP brother 🙏
Dude it’s so pretty. Reminds me of an old love song or something. I swear, I’ve heard that “do-do-do-DO-do-do-do” part somewhere else, in like one of those claymation Christmas movies or something.
broach93 I agree with you 100%. Chris Thatcher is such an underrated drummer. I actually know him personally. He is married to my band director and he is a drum tech for our marching band and indoor percussion. Hes such a great guy and hes so talented. He deserves so much more credit than what he gets.
He is involved in marching band? Do you know if he has any ties to DCI? I know the trumpet player marched with Jersey Surf in the past, it would be cool if the drummer also participated in DCI.
stale56 Yes! Chris marched center snare for the Boston Crusaders. His wife (my band director) marched baritone for the Crossmen. Also our other drum tech, Colin Bell, who is the drummer of the band Echo Movement and writes out Jersey Surf's percussion music, marched Raiders.
I haven’t seen them since this tour, but I have to say they are my favorite band to see live. They are one of the few bands that sound better live than they do on their record!
being a former Bari player, i'm super impressed with how easily he moves around with it. those things are hella heavy. i marched one parade with mine and it was a bit much
one of my favorite things about Streelight is that they sound almost identical to their studio recordings. i've seen too many bands live that don't even come close
Seen them “improvise” and even mix-match parts of different songs live. Thats how you can tell these guys are synced up to the T and masters of their craft; not a bunch of solo-players performing their parts over each other
i love the look on chris thatchers face at the beginning while he's drumming, he looks like he's having the most fun in the world there. Like a little kid filled with glee. he is one beast of a drummer. of course everyone else is as equally amazing and freaking powerhouses.
I didn't realize I'd been holding my breath until after the video ended...amazing song. Absolutely amazing band. Half the fun is just watching them enjoying the hell out of themselves.
1:41 Pretty sure the drummer is also super awesome. As for everyone in this band...why is this band so good? It's too much for me. I can't handle it. MUST DANCE.
Wow, I physically have to sing "I don't know where we go from here." God such a beautiful band. This song is just so full of energy. Well, like every song. But this one is such a beautiful outro. Bravo, Tomask. Bravo.
Just saw them last night live in Milwaukee.. The crowd screamed for an encore and they played this and The Big Sleep.. Best concert I've ever been to!!
Their drummer is one of the most underrated drummers in the past 20 years.
broach93 yeah, I didn’t really notice until watching this lol
His BPM is fucking insane and on point. I don't think he misses or skips a single note. Fuck I love this band!
They’re all underrated

This band really got me thorugh depression. Thanks for existing!
I like the way Snrub thinks
Big same
they really crank the bpm live dont they, I love it!
this recording was sped up for some reason

Watching them perform never gets old.
Everything's so precise for the genre they are in, they've truly set the standard for ska.

That MC Lars Shirt makes me so happy.

I could listen to that constantly and still feel happy.

it's been a while since I heard this band. Forgot how awesome they were.
This is like the bestest song everest writtenest!

That is really cool! It's really amazing to see how DCI has contributed to these young musicians.
He also founded Dark Horse Percussion right?
maxdevon1 Yup!
Have to love a band with a trombone solo
Personal opinion. t
This is one one the best "live" ska recordings ever. Everyone sounds amazing.
I haven’t seen them since this tour, but I have to say they are my favorite band to see live. They are one of the few bands that sound better live than they do on their record!
That is awesome. I am so excited that after all these years I get to see them live this year.
Its been 10 years, and this song still amazing 👌
The bari sax player KILLS me omg
Sarah Agristean Mike brown
he's somewhat terrifying when you're on barrier but it's hilarious
being a former Bari player, i'm super impressed with how easily he moves around with it. those things are hella heavy. i marched one parade with mine and it was a bit much
Jesus. I was at this exact show when I was 18 and came across this video randomly.
They're my favorite band
streetlight manifesto are fucking awesome!!
as of 2019 I STILL CANT GET ENUF OF THE MUSIC,, bear in mind i just found them last fall :D
I got to see them last year twice on the same tour, 6000 miles apart.
Best summer ever. :)
this song holds a place in my heart as my favorite song ever. I love ska and I love this song.
one of my favorite things about Streelight is that they sound almost identical to their studio recordings. i've seen too many bands live that don't even come close
I think the We will fall together-live sounds even way better than on record.
Seen them “improvise” and even mix-match parts of different songs live. Thats how you can tell these guys are synced up to the T and masters of their craft; not a bunch of solo-players performing their parts over each other
If a band is different then their record it doesnt have to be worse, ive seen live gigs who were a lot better,
@@toniheikkila5607 absolutely, they played the intro longer too.
@@nicholaswirth1011 And more energetic version, at least to my ear.
I love how this entire set EVERYONE is smiling!

It's 2020 and this song sums it up perfectly
Best ska band EVER.

blows my mind every time I come back to watch this.
Just saw them last night live in Milwaukee.. The crowd screamed for an encore and they played this and The Big Sleep.. Best concert I've ever been to!!
