Well done. This perfectly captures completely cringe dialogue and nonsensical tactics from the original show. Its almost as if the protagonists only really won because the entire battle was scripted, but that would just be crazy.
Even more cringe: Yu-Gi-Oh duels in Real Life. Are those still a thing? I'm already reliving my childhood through Korean Maplestory comic books that I had imported through South Korea.

I love the detail in this video! No wonder it's a passion project! From having the stop time effects, additional dialogue that Nelvana adds, bakuclips, battle pod & voice, plus all of the Neil Parifitt tracks, it truly is a well done parody! I really enjoyed watching it!
I just realised this battle is very similar to shuji vs dan round 1 in episodes 1 and both toolbox and jett kouso have been using reboot counterpart or similar
I hope you make another one of these using the tcg. Like both players do flashy moves in setting the cores. Then for a visual on the life have a wall with 40 hexagons that gradually gets smaller as your opponent mill you deck and draw cards. The anime didnt showcase the tcg very well so i hope jett can change that.
Things went south when we went to the Gauntlets in season 2, no power readings in season 3, and worst: Season 4 being a contest of who can di the most property damage, even the Bakunano chant is just "Bakunano, destroy!", which meant you cared nothing for the game and more about how much you can destroy.

SO fun to make. Animation is a pain but man, we wrote the script and shot all of Toolbox’s stuff that same day before he left town.
