Where did I get the new game field? My original game field was very damaged, and many details were lost. Nevertheless, I took photos of my broken game field. For the missing details, I searched the internet for game fields in good condition to get an idea of what the original looked like. Then, I recreated and vectorized the game field using Affinity Designer. Afterward, I had it printed at a print shop.
I’m going through what’s probably the worst depressive episode in my life where staying alive every day is a struggle, but your videos are such an incredible way to just relax and focus in something else. Amazing restoration as always, and thank you for saving my life in ways you don’t realize
Hey I’m just a random internet person but I saw your comment. I’m sorry you’re going through such pain right now. I can’t imagine what you must be feeling. I’m glad you’re pushing through these difficult days. I’m glad you find some relaxation in these restoration videos (me too, try Tom Johnson’s restoration videos). Most importantly, I’m glad you’re here. Keep going, the sun always rises again no matter how dark the night. ❤
So glad to read you found something that keeps your mind busy on something else. Most important thing. Even when energy is barely available. Keeping the mind occupied helped me so so much. This random internet stranger believes in you ❤ youre worthy of all the good life will have to offer
I've been where you are. I promise it gets better, even though it feels like it never will. Don't be afraid to reach out to friends, family or the hospital for help. But even if they fail you, which they might, do not stop fighting. It will be worth it in the end. I nearly gave up a few times and I'm so happy I didn't. I believe in you.
I have suffered from depression and anxiety for a long time. Medication has helped me and talking to people I can trust, as friends or in a professional capacity has proved invaluable. I hope you find the support you need. It might be difficult to find but there is help out there.♥
It never ceases to amaze me just how much craftsmanship and creativity went into these old-school tabletop games like this... And how amazing a job restorers like yourself do when bringing them back to life! Incredible work! 🙂
Thank you so much for your thoughtful comment! I completely agree-there’s something truly special about the craftsmanship and creativity in these old-school games. It’s a privilege to restore them and give them a second life. I’m so glad you enjoyed the work; your kind words mean a lot to me!
Thanks for sharing that tidbit regarding changing the pressure for sandblasting wood. How sandblasting worked on metal but didn’t damage wood has been a background thought for me.
Thank you so much for your amazing comment! I'm really glad you appreciate the restoration. I put a lot of effort into perfecting every detail. Your feedback motivates me to keep working with the highest precision. Thanks for watching!
Only concern I have is switching the wooden ball for a metal one is the shooting for the basketball hoop. It hitting the backboard and then the playing field would cause denting or other damage rather than using a wooden ball. I would hate to see all your lovely work be damaged by the metal ball.
I was thinking the same thing. I would have kept the wooden ball for this game. The ball bearing has a different bounce and roll dynamic due to its heavier mass than the wooden ball and may cause denting and premature wear. Very nice restoration otherwise.
Thank you so much for your kind words! I'm thrilled to hear that you like the restoration and noticed the details I worked on. It means a lot to me that the retro basketball game now looks even better to you. Your support motivates me to keep creating! Thanks for watching!
Very nice! For me, it was kind of hard to tell if the ball went in the basket or not. If you used the bottom half of the bag and left it in tact, the ball would stay in the net so you knew for sure it went in. Probably easier to tell in person though. Very neat game and great restoration!
If you want to get a shiny look when using a metal looking paint. Use a gloss black paint as a base coat then the metal paint will come out shiny and really look like metal.
Thank goodness you've explained how you got the new game field. I was like "They make reproduction for this particular game?!" Great restoration as always but I wondered why you've switched to a metal ball vs the wooden one? Wouldn't it dent the backboard and playing field after repeated plays?

Great Job👏👍
Awesome, would love to see a video of that process on a future project
Thanks for the comment; I was wondering how the graphics would be replaced -- they were so badly damaged.
@@williamharris8367 I will soon post some pictures in the Community tab showing how I created the graphic using the program Affinity Designer.

Beautiful restoration! 👍
I think given the age of the game the netting would be thicker string rather than thin plastic mesh. But a lovely job nonetheless.
Toujours autant de plaisir à regarder vos restauration monsieur bravo monsieur
This channel make me realize how great toys were and differentes from now
I like that you show the need to turn down the blast pressure when working on wood. Most places fail to include that.
Love to see old stuff turning new again :)
👏 (thx from a french guy)
Amazing Craftsmanship and Restoration 👍🏻👍🏽👍🇬🇧🇬🇧
still one of the best restoration channels ever on YT
Bravo !
You are one of my favourite channels. Excellent work as always, both the restoration and the filming.
I love to watch the painting ❤
Now that resto is beautiful and functional. Very nice.
Thank you so much! I'm glad you find the restoration both beautiful and functional. Your support and feedback mean a lot to me. Thanks for watching!
Maybe use a rubber ball instead of a metal one to avoid damaging the game field? 🏀
Splendid the way you restored the retro basketball game. It looks much better than before and the details you restored are awesome. Excellent work.

The drilling of the holes did something nice to my braind that sounded vwry satisfying 😂❤
Cool old game. Nice restoration.
Very good restoration. 👏👏
Thanks 😊
Pretty neat little game, honestly.
You're right, it's fun 😊
This work is impressive!
Great restoration 👍🏾
Good work 👏 on the old basketball toy game
Amazing job! I would maintain the previous ball, nevertheless it was an awesome restoration work.
Oh! It's like an open pinball table top pinball game with a basket ball theming and point system. Nice! Especially the restoration. :D
Beautiful restoration!
Thanks 😊

@@gshaunsweeney Thanks for the information
Bravo!
Thanks
Wunderbar!
What a weirdly wonderful little French game…
Wow nice to see wood with actual grain and not just pressed together from scrap

Show de bola 🎉🎉🎉
Thanks

i LOVE THESE VIDS SO MUCH... how in the world do you find the new vinyl decals/labels????
Yes when I think of basketball...I think of France
Love Your work. Really. But how and where did You get the original graphics?
11:18 What instrument do you play?
“T H E D R I L L”
Where did you get the reprint of the board graphic!!
Kompliment 👍👍👍
Where did you get the reprint?
Does the ball ever doink its way all to the bottom without landing somewhere first?
There's ASMR, and then there's nerd ASMR
The plastic duckies kinda threw me for a sec. 🦆🤔
❤😊😊
❤❤❤❤
You should have used glue on the frame before nailing them
That's good advice. Thank you for the tip!
Are you using "dihydrogen monoxide" (DHMO) at 4:30 ? should be carefull with these chemicals!
Amazing. But the net sucks.
Mind blowing, please resale it. ❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
Mmmmm... Kool-aid :D
i think you could've taken time to color the net of the hoop. and maybe straighten it out a little more and make it more appealing
Sir, that's not for sale, you know?
Belle restauration sinon ;)
Why did you change the ball?
Bro shut up
At the beginning of the video shoot, I didn’t have any metal balls yet, so I used a wooden ball instead.
UA-cam hide this from me for 1 hour >:(
Oh, that's unfortunate. Unfortunately, I have no control over who UA-cam recommends the videos to.
The net looks like shit.
Stain it, but NEVER paint wood
Wait... You have lebron james jersey but nobody was flailing on the ground like a toddler.
