The Beatrix Farrand Garden Association planned to launch a full season of FREE cultural programs in 2020 called 'Third Thursdays' which included hands-on art workshops and musical performances featuring talent from across the Hudson Valley region. We also planned to host a full season of garden-related workshops, ranging from tool care to seed saving, and everything in between! Due to the Covid-19 crisis the full season of programming has been postponed, but we've brought one of the talented local artists to give a demonstration of the workshop they'd planned to present: enjoy weaving a peony crown with Jesica Clark!
Jes Clark is a vegetable farmer, willow grower, and amazingly talented weaver from Standfordville, NY. Her 5-acre Willow Vale Farm supplies produce to a number of local markets, and her woven art can be found at high-end retailers and maker's markets all over the region. Check out www.willowvale... for more info.
The Third Thursdays series was made possible in part by generous support from the Ann and Abe Effron Donor Advised Fund of the Community Foundations of the Hudson Valley, Dutchess Tourism administered by Arts Mid-Hudson, and Decentralization Program, a regrant program of the New York State Council on the Arts with the support of Governor Andrew M. Cuomo and the New York State Legislature and administered by Arts Mid-Hudson.
Thank you for sharing your talents with us!
Just lovely! Jessica, you are so creative and talented.
Well done! The pacing was perfect, Jesica's demeanor is lovely, and the finished peony cage is stunning. I would love to have a pattern for the jig.
Absolutely amazing! Really lovely to watch. Thank you!👏🏻✨
Beautiful.
I just love this type of thing, should be more video's of it. Thank you for sharing.
Jessica you're a good teacher.
Absolutely amazing and inspirational!
I’ve been dreaming of doing this sort of thing in my garden, but haven’t hunted down a source of willow, yet.
Lady's expression is so cute when she speaks 😄
Очень хорошая идея, спасибо за вашу идею ❤
Very interesting. Had to search for a video on how to do a proper God's Eye wrap, though. Not difficult, but involves making a box shape around an x. Will be making my own jig. Thanks.
So good to see and follow the design Jess thank you. Somewhere i would love to have you teach me personally ❤ sending you a big hug ❤
I LOVE this! Eve used various supports over the years for my peonies and it have willows! Thanks so much for posting this.
This is already looking so beautiful. Sadly for me the filming ,for the base structure started on your left side, where all I could see was your shoulder and arms.
Leaving me guessing and wondering how did you start. 😢. Thank you for including a lot of other information on international weaving!
Absolutely amazing work!
thanks for sharing with us.
Its beautiful your very clever, and lovely to see a left handed weaver really helps X Luv from UK 🇬🇧
Is there a pattern to make your stand? I love weaving and so many of my neighbors need support for various plants & vegetables, in particular tomatoes! And they would love the natural support.
Thank you so much for your patience and your wonderful knowledge you are a great Kumu (teacher)
A pattern for the stand would be great.
Enjoyed the video.
Here is another version of this same talk. It may have more detail. I grow willow in NY and can't wait to try a few of these out. ua-cam.com/video/Bx1cX0_Duho/v-deo.htmlsi=VEdgv7sesHracYKi

in front, behind, over, under, over, under --- the important rhythm but I missed the twist. The top was in front, behind, in front, behind, with no twist?
Thanks Jessica 😊❤️
