We can't depend on schools to do everything, we need to back the schools up, by exposing the children to as many things as possible, so that they have an idea what is out there. The average British child does not have the kind of zeal and pride that this children display. There's money in the entertainment industry, we need to ensure they can read music and compose.
Abdii you just nailed it by saying that "these guys practiced every evening ".....well that is what is needed for one to be successful. Unfortunately many people don't want to put in the work that is needed to succeed in whatever they are pursuing. Put in the work and the results will follow
I'm proud to have been a founder of this culture in pumwani. We started in 2005 with senior principal kk kingori, muyale and the Aquinas old boys. 15+ yrs and the boys are still this good. Alot of practice needed though to nail it. 2007 was just mad. Has the choir ever beaten the record?
Mr.Muyale was the best... I remember when back in those days he would come with Pumu choir to Ngara girls for training and collabos. It was heavenly...
This is the best composition I have heard so far. This is a masterpiece. The composition, mastery of the song, accompaniment, voice balance, what about moves -real classic.
How I wish this talents could be natured in future. This was so brilliant Pumwani boys.I have watched severally, can still watch again and again without getting bored.
The instrumentalism... Oh this is the closest we have come to the legendary TP OK Jazz, which was had passionate instrumentalists... I love I love... Thanks for documenting this for future generations.
I was in the neighboring school Starch and I remember that one guy from Pumwani Band who used to play Trombone with his left hand😂, he was our real threat and I am surprised he is not here.
