Recent batches of Herods are really weak! My friend bought one few days ago and I was disappointed with its performance!! Initio Side effect lasted on my skin for 11+ hours, was satisfied with the projection as well!! I felt it's like Herod+Carlisle...really love this fragrance!!
Lol...I keep trying to tell ppl that post 2018 batches of Herod, Layton, and Carlisle have been watered down severely. Theyre sliding by and still selling because of their reputation for being "beastmode"..but the new formulations are nowhere near beastmode. Theyre possibly the weakest scents in my entire collection.
@@silentsir2446 Dua now produces Herod and Layton clones that are beastmode sprayable attars (majority fragrance oil). They project for 4-6 hours and the base lasts as a skin scent for up to 24 hours. It's insane.
@@silentsir2446 all Initio frags have been watered down. I won’t be buying any more from this house. Overhyped and overpriced.
So what's with is trend? Go ahead, look at the comments for just about any newer hyped niche fragrance and they're just loaded with people constantly complaining about performance. Literally on every channel with every fragrance. It's always "previous batches used to be.....blah blah. I'm sorry but when I see this constantly, with every damn fragrance and it NEVER matches my experience....I call bs. You're either anosmic, bought a fake, or likely have some romanticized notionnof a previous version and thus gives you an opportunity to remind everyone that your bottle is still better. Just stop. Stop shitting on everyones joy at discovering something new. Seriously. The fuck is wrong with you people?
@@silentsir2446 you should try the tom ford's then lol... New batches of oud wood didn't last for more than 45 minutes on my skin. It's an absolute joke what they all do. Creed house is probably the worst for reformulations .. I am happy paying high prices for niche but number one rule it has to last & project . What these big name companies are doing is criminal in my eyes .

I just bought Side Effect a few weeks ago and I absolutely love it. It’s too bad it’s only available in 90 ML. I really wish they would offer this fragrance in the 120ML.
Decent scent, but slightly overrated
Basically Blessed Baraka is replacing the watered down reformulations of Carlisle, and Side Effect is replacing watered down Herod. PDM knows their popular scents are watered down now, so theyve created this new hyped spinoff house to introduce these "new" "stronger" (original strength) formulations of scents theyve already done under PDM before; only with different names. New hype sells. Smart strategy.
Side Effect is not so similar to Herod i own both.

Herod has more a cherry vibe tobaco scent, a bit smokey also.
SF is more on the vanilla side and sweeter imo

Both are owned by the same people hence the similarities.. new formulations of Herod are quite weak and doesn't last that much. Side effect solves that and feels like an improved Herod.
From my experience Herod has decent longevity(about 6-7 hours) but projection is not that great after 1 hour.I think the old Herod used to be much brighter than the current one, current one is more darker and smell of tobbacco is more prominent!! While the old one had more a hookah/sheeshah sort of smell!!
I have both Side Effect and Herod, on me Herod actually projects more and lasts longer than Side Effect. Also, this is subejctive of course, I like Herod more than Side Effect.

And there is nothing in it that connects it to Bentley Intense Man.

To my nose Side Effect is also more feminine than Herod.
But very smooth, elegant and well composed scent.
And they are not sooo similar like everybodys talking about...i own both...
This Side Efect fragrance is syropy cinamony like JOOP with extra freshness / zingyness.
Too sweet too faminine. Not for men.
Too candy like.
