I’ve never been envious of celebrities, but after reading Barbara Walters book Audition I was envious of her. The woman traveled the globe many times over, interviewing the who’s who of the world. She was constantly on and ready at the drop of a hat to travel to a foreign land to interview Foreign leaders and even Dictators. She had her finger on the pulse of what and who the audience wanted to hear from. She had an amazing career and truly paved the way for the many female journalists we have today. There will never be another Barbara Walters…..I’ve missed her since she retired in 2014. If anyone here likes to read I suggest giving Barbara’s book Audition a try.

Barbara Walters Z”L , what a Mentsh! A wonderful and full life enjoyed.
I have the deepest respect and greatest admiration for this pioneering woman who blazed and significant trail for the women who have, are and will enjoy a career in journalism. What magnificent shoulders to stand upon and monumental values to uphold.
Her life must have been an unbelievable adventure at times, particularly meeting the unique and interesting people she did, all of which would pale in comparison to her beloved daughter. A terrific woman indeed, G-d’s speed!

You may be joking, but one must remember that the Crosby family comprised an alcoholic wife & mother, and 4 children beset by emotional problems: one who struggled with alcohol & substance abuse, and two who committed suicide. That does not equate to a happy home. If Gary was to be believed (claims his three brothers initially corroborated), it was far worse than a hairbrush. Besides, a parent who can turn away permanently from a child-for any reason-is not an admirable person.

Baba Wawa blew it when she asked the Shah of Iran about his statement that women don't produce anything of importance. She didn't do her homework. When he shot back with "name a woman scientist" and she could only name one, she clearly had not thought out her question--or rather the possible replies to her question. I used to cringe as a teenager when I watched her, and I still cringe at her rather gross and one-tracked way of thinking. She was bold, and I respect the hell out of her for beating the Man's system, but she could have used a little etiquette training somewhere along the way. Her bedroom questions were vulgar and lazy, in my opinion, because she always brought the subject there, when there were so many more interesting things about people she could have asked. It was like watching a home movie of your childhood friends or family members playing show and tell or something equally unnecessary and uncomfortable that you could have lived forever without seeing.

Farrah's looks changed quite a bit. At their BEST, they were both very beautiful. In this Barbara Walters interview, Bo is NOT at her "best" there is another interview with Bo Derek that can be found on youtube where she looks "perfect" literally - a 10 for real. Nice tan, her cheek bones look higher, face a little slimmer and her hair is extremely long and golden. Based on that one interview, I would say Bo...because in that one interview, all of her features looked perfect. Farrah always had an odd looking nose, lol.....but at Farrah's best, she was still gorgeous...AND...I much preferred Farrahs personality. Bo was stiff and at times seemed nervous and awkward. Farrah was charming, interesting, funny and more captivating. in general, I like Farrah Fawcett much more.

I think most of us have heard:
      Nature's first green is gold.
Indeed, when a woman is young--new and captivating, the glow in her eyes, the sheen of her skin, the bounce in her step--and the knowledge that her life is still ahead of her---is quite beguiling.
Bo and Farrah---lovely and wonderful women.... I'd rather not compare them....

Sean Connery is absolutely right. Never slapped a woman, probably never will, I just grew up like that. But he’s right. I tried everything with my love. Everything. In the end, I’ve always resorted to reason and peace, and she resorted to being a pandora box of trauma and emotion. We, like everyone else were not perfect, and we made mistakes, but nothing truly big deal (like cheating or something like that, it’s not in mine or hers character to do that) an we loved and were good to each other. We ended in a way I could not for the life of me imagine - she cursing me, hating me, calling me names. I shouda have given her a good slap.

If resorting to violence against someone you love is supposed to be what mends the relationship then I hate to burst your 1952 bubble, but you weren't meant to be with that person. Sounds like she was verbally abusive to you anyway so why physically abuse her in return?

It might feel like a relief to you to slap someone you're angry with but it never fixed anything in a relationship.
Love, tenderness and compassion makes things better in a relationship, not abuse.
I'm sorry your wife treated you like that. There are other fish in the sea. I hope you find happiness whether alone or with a new love.

The interview with the Shah of Iran was very provocative in a bad way…Walters KNEW the culture was not conducive to free speech on women’s rights. How she can bulldoze her way into the conversation is appalling! Did this contribute to the overthrow of his rule?… the result being a more oppressive government…
