- Hello Model Railroaders! In this video I'll be discussing how I'm rebuilding my Mascoutin Valley Railroad in HO Scale. I'll walk through the concept of the railroad and the parts that I'll be modeling plus talk about how I'm developing a couple of key scenes on the model railroad.

@@AndyDorsch Thanks very much Andy for replying to my comment. Like the work you are doing so l subscribe to your channel to improve mine to get some great ideas. Thanks DD.
I love the story of the Mascoutin Valley Railroad. Can’t wait to see it all come to life.
Thanks John. I have a full "history" of the railroad too...one day sat down and wrote it up...I'll share it one day in this series!!!
Very nice set-up, I like the dog and hunter idea
New Sub: Great story and a great build theory! Looking forward to see what's on paper becomes through the lens of the camera! - Jason
I like the small scene to begin with as you described @ 11:25 with the tree's flanking the view into the railroad. It helps to set the layout story in motion. Bravo. Cheers ~ Boomer.
Very impressive layout and great update. Lot of good info as well. Nice backdrop .
Thanks for the update! Looks like a lot of work ahead!
Looks awesome. Hope you are out of the funk. Can't wait until the Podcast tomorrow
I am certainly out of the funk! The podcast will be great tomorrow!
Thanks for the update. Interesting plans!
Thanks Joseph! Looking forward to making them happen!!!
Good stuff Andy, thanks for sharing bud.
You bet
Thanks for the layout update and showing us the plans you have for your railroad. A storage track is a great "industry" to model as any car types can be set out or picked up from it. I agree, a low backdrop to separate the tracks will help viewers only focus on the storage track and not the main line runnign behind it. You can also add a tree line in front of the backdrop to help it blend in. I am looking forward to your next update.-Tom
Thanks Tom! Alot of my planning and redo of this layout has been inspired by your model railroad and our discussions! I'm very excited about this layout and I love how it's coming together!
Gonna be a nice layout, with lots of operating potential. I love the Shadowbox LDE type scenes. Looking forward to more videos! - Paul
Thanks for watching! I'm very excited to continue with this scene!!!
Looks like you’ve got the start of a nice layout. Will be watching for more updates. Have a great day
Thanks Johnathan! I am really excited about this layout!
Great video Andy. As others have said, looking forward to new postings! Question about the backdrop past the Athelstane structure. Have you considered a small radius curved backdrop from the long wall to the short wall at the end of the trackage? Maybe you'll cover that vertical corner with a tall tree ala Boomer Diorama.
New sub . Liked 🙏😀
The small width forces you to think about the scene. I like it. Just me, but the passenger equipment looks out of place on the storage track. I figure you were using them as a "filler" to make reference to the capacity. Keep us up to speed on the progress. Remember it is summer and you have a family. 👍
Yeah they (the passenger cars) are there to see "capacity" of big cars!
Looking forward to the progress on this layout. Q: Why is everything in Wisconsin so difficult to pronounce? Athelstane Veener? At least it’s not in Oconomowoc.
Well I could say it's because of the French and Native American influence but I'm guessing the real reason is there must have been some arcane rule on the books that before you name a location you had to drink a bottle of whiskey and blurt out the first thing that came to mind...to me that's the only logical conclusion. 😆
I can't find much information on this railroad. All I have found so far is bike and walking trails. No history.
Ps. Nevermind I just heard you say in this video that it was basically a railroad of lies lol.
