Big moochers landed towards the end epic stuff. That bait gathering mission looked like alot of fun haha and damn that was a massive squid 🦑 love to see it.
Some nice fish there. It's good to see you still getting out there. It should be a good summer of fishing. Do you know how the manukau harbour is fishing atm ? Tight lines
What stretch of coastline you exploring? I'm a rock fisher from Northland and been in Aux for a while... have no idea where would be a good area to explore for some rock fishing?
We were north of the city on the east coast. Not a lot of uninhabited areas to explore around Auckland but its a big place with multiple harbours and two coasts. Best advise would be study google maps for interesting looking spots and then go explore. Sus out potential for future reference and then hit it when you think is a prime time.
@DarkmoonAngler hey mate, thanks for that. I've got a couple spots to explore up near matakana, so I'll see if I get lucky enough to make some content. Keep the vids coming dude!
Good area to explore. Seems to fish better spring and autumn. not sure what it'll be like over summer. I usually keep out west over the hotter months due to amount of smaller fish and people out east. But best of luck out there anyway. tight lines. @@hideonkush
huge range. couldn't say anything specific. look for a rod 9-12 foot. 10-15kg, probably 2 piece. And a reel that balances the rod, feels right, and doesn't bust the bank. You'll probably want to upgrade in a season or two with the gained experience, so no need for anything super flash to start with. Things get trashed easily rock fishing.
Love your vids
The sounds of that reel dying was was too much 😂
Mean couple of fish there towards the end Jas, awesome east coast session
Yeah hit that east coast spot at just the right time, after a big swell.

I think Ive caught too many big snaps of late cause yes, catching kahawai on a piece of crap was way more fun...lol.
@@DarkmoonAngler hahaha I fully get that and less painful on the back region too 😅
The farts on that reel 😂😂😂😂
Nice squid mate. Did you walk in from t/p wharf?
Yeah, nice reasonably easy walk. Well known squid area apparently.
