no, youre doing the right thing. the elsagate videos are really creepy and i strongly believe that there are sick people like pedophiles behind these types of content.
Yes, youre right. It is part of a pedophiliac agenda, using color programming and strange 'associations' to soothe kids into being desensitized to trauma and sodomy - pizzagate/kidstv/heykids - Look out for the specific color theme in videos and STAY AWAY from them.
great video. I once stumbled upon one of the weirdest net of channels of this kind of video, where bots had distorted these videos so much it was basically just a mess of graphics and recycled broken videos... I don't want to go back there. Please, do not give phones to yours kids below 12 yo.
you are now entering a world from which you will never return. you may choose to embrace it or fight it, but you can not change it, nor can you go back.
This was the reason why my mom stopped allowing my brother to have access to our phones without supervision and have a tablet with UA-cam kids because this was the kind of stuff he watched along with other stuff. It just troubled us how this kind of content could get on UA-cam. I mean the stuff my brother learned from these types of videos cannot be unlearned and we're literally having the time of our life teaching him what he learned is not okay. UA-cam seriously needs to investigate these kinds of channels and their management because this is not okay in the slightest.
I'm so glad you made a video about this haha. It's such a rabbit hole once you start to look closer into it. Completely disturbing, but as a UA-camr who's day job depends on the algorithm, truly fascinating.
You'll never see me sitting a kid down with a tablet or phone. I didn't have even supervised access to the internet at home until I was about 10. My mom always watched content actively with my sisters and I. This is a good example why just letting your kid watch whatever they get their hands on can be a bad idea. Really young kids need a variety of stimuli in order to get the most neuropathways developed as they can. Video isn't that great for that. I really do fear for the ramifications of this new style of parenting. Every second of the day can be spent in front of a screen now. You don't ever have to take a kid away from one if you don't want to, and you know some parents out there won't separate their children from a screen as long as it shuts them up. Maybe I'm just paranoid, but this development honestly spooks me a little bit.
like you say, its not a good idea to let video babysit kids, even if they are watching high or medium quality stuff; but even with the creepiness aside, these things are of such low, low quality with zero effort or creativity motivated by no artistic endeavour whatsoever, or anything other than profit. even if the content was totally innocent, it wold be a sad state of affairs if thats what a kid has as thier entertainment.
I watch very young kids unattended by parents flipping through content on UA-cam like it was a treasured story book, and it makes me sad. I was blissfully unaware about this disturbing variant on that. Thanks (?!?!) for educating me further. Always lovely to hear from you. I do like the way your mind works. Well part of it is that the youtube kids app is a thing, and these videos are popping up on an app specifically made for parental controls. That’s why they’re more visible now instead of just on the “weird part of youtube”
Corey Pierson It has been that way for a long time though, I remember seeing a video about a Hitler finger family song targeting the kids app like 2 years ago.

I’ve said this on Folding Idea’s video on this, but in 10-12 years, these kids are gonna come of age and the internet will be all over this topic again, like the Sinbad/Shazam thing, but real.
It won't change much for the average user when it goes away, that is true, but small business will have a much harder time, and if companies may throttle internet speeds against rivals it will incentivize the development of monopolies, the same situation with att and time warner (the same one trump spoke against)
Alex McCullough is that what netflix told you? In reality NN just protects big companies like netflix that consums like 30% of all internet bandwidth. They don't want to pay more for using more.
Even over here in the UK, the idea of Net Neutrality going away scares me, but I can't do much besides donate and email. So I've donated some money and emailed the chairman of the FCC, Ajit Pai.
I miss this channel more than any other MIA UA-cam. You started a comeback at the beginning of the year and I was super stoked, but now those videos are all gone and I’m just watching the same old videos over and over like my favorite canceled television shows.

My theory is that someone thought "if I had to grow up with Courage the Cowardly Dog, Ren and Stimpy and all these crazy insane cartoons that were traumatizing then the next Generation has to as well" LOL
I can't say that this suprise me or that it's even new to me, but thanks for the reminder that Hell isn't always Fore and darkness, sometimes it's children videos on UA-cam.
Hey Sam, did you forget to put some of Mango Kids' more legit looking stuff around the 9:36 mark? Because you mentioned it a couple times but just cut to Godzillas on the Bus.
In Neuromancer William Gibson describes "Dub" a type of music listened to by space Rastas as, "a sensuous mosaic cooked from vast libraries of digitalized pop." In effect Dub, in the context of the novel, is a semi-automatically generated remix of all previous music in a never ending recursive loop. While these videos are about animations on UA-cam, I feel like we can apply Gibson's term to these works. But what can we make of it? For the space Rasta's of Gibson there is a method to the madness, effectively an emergent order. Kind of a thousand monkeys on a thousand type writers given a thousand years can produce Shakespeare, with a bit of zeitgeist thrown in there for good measure. I'm not totally sold on the value of that particular reading though. What does interest me is the way these emerge from what Focault calls, "The death of the author." In many ways these videos are authorless, one cannot point to a single site of authorial power. They also totally break down concepts of IP and discrete textuality. This is similar to how folklore and mythology are created, spread, and used by people. Take, for example, the legend of Bloody Mary. No one can point to the author of the Bloody Mary legend, though their are several theories about possible inspirations. Most people know the character used. There are countless versions of the legend, all of them reconfigured around certain basic elements, mirrors, saying her name three times, and so on. In these videos no one knows the author really. Most people know the characters used. There are countless versions of the videos, all of them reconfigured around certain basic elements, animations, scenes, ect. Their is a major difference though, and thats the automation. Who knows? Really interesting stuff though.
I remember one day (when all this wasn't a huge thing) i was on some weird tumblr and found a post talking about a channel called "hey kids". The channel consisted of animated cartoon finger family videos but a lot of the videos had the persons voice with a weird cartoon face and he talked about nonsense and that was the first time i heard about any of this weird stuff and i forgot about it until h3h3 made his video. This is all very weird.
It's cheap to produce and generates a ton of revenue, and the fact that it's overseen by a "network" means the videos always stay up on one channel or another. UA-cam Kids is built to promote these videos, and with autoplay enabled by default, it's easy for kids to track up hundreds of minutes of viewing in an unsupervised afternoon.
I am so disturbed by these nursery-rhymes-cg-animated-superheroes stuff. A few months ago my 3 year-old nephew stumbled upon one of these after watching a totally fine episode of a real show on youtube, and he was fascinated. He stared at the screen for hours, hit the replay button to watch it over and over, and when we tried to stop him, we were in for the biggest anger fit we'd ever had to deal with. He cried and cried for hours, standing in a corner, that he wanted to "watch Spiderman". It felt like a drug addict being cut off. This deeply worried me, I am personnally a fan of all things weird the internet has to offer (partly why I love this channel) and have no problem feeling disturbed when watching something... Doesn't mean I want kids to watch too. As an adult, I can deal with all that's off in these videos (I'm not speaking about most of the Elsagate stuff, like live actions ones and... babies getting shots ? I'm lucky never to have dug these out of the UA-cam pit of despair), I know it mainly has to do with the uncanny valley, the mix of realistic-ish animation and super heroes and more cartoony ones, the out-of-character moves and action, the bare set design, the fascination with cars (?), and most of all the crazy gap between "whoever created that was probably on drugs" and "why nursery rhymes". This creates the fun, this creates the uneasy felling too. But kids can't really process it, yet they still feel the fascination they entail, hence the "watching crazy stuff for hours" that ensues and could possibly be quite harmful.
Huge fan of yours cmilk. I love Winston too. Been watching you both for years. I know this is an old post of yours but I was surprised to see you here.
They're cheap, unlicensed 3d character models dropped into generic bright colored settings, all programmed to do a dance animation. So basically they're automatically generated memes. They look innocent at a glance from a parent. With a horrifyingly dark underbelly, based on child abuse and wanking to babies getting stuck with needles. 😧 I can't even believe that UA-cam even opened UA-cam Kids to anything but hand-picked, reliable, major companies. What did they think was gonna happen?? Also, I am genuinely concerned about the number of these videos with the phrase "finger family" in the title. 😧😳😬
I will never leave a small child alone with youtube. I still have dozens of VHS of 90s kids show. Winnie the pooh and Ponyo for them, no way theyre getting close to that shit.
For another great video on this whole thing from another great and underappreciated channel, look up the Finger Family video by Fredrick Knudsen/Down The Rabbit Hole. Anyone who loves This Exists should also enjoy that channel. The format is different, but the idea is similar... he just talks about whatever subject he finds interesting, which leads to a lot of really great content.
I'm just going to posit this theory about how some of the trends in subject matter in these videos get added to whatever data cloud the Weird UA-cam Kids stuff pulls from: I know a lot of adults act really weirded out that pregnancy is such a common recurring trend in these vids, but I remember it being one of those things that fascinated me as a kid. Especially since it's one of those semi-taboo topics (because sex is involved) so it gains this "forbidden fruit" aura. So, you know, kids old enough to work a search engine look up "pregnancy", whoever makes these things gets word that this is something kids will watch, and adds it to the topics in their videos. Also, while Godzilla going on a tour bus doesn't make sense to adults, to a kid who doesn't really care about the logic of an atomic monster driving a bus, it just kinda... clicks. I dunno, I just remember my thought process working that way when I was young.
you should investigate the "X has Conga Buster" phenomenon. essentially what people do is take kid show intros, change the color pallet, apply the mirror effect and bitcrush the audio. here's the link to a playlist of the most known ones of them: X has a Conga Busher: ua-cam.com/play/PLEQVBR2XZauSBtTMZeZbu_rYxLjjqriPl.html
Was not prepared for the deathminion.png and I probably pissed myself but unintended jumpscares aside, thanks for more top quality, intriguing-ass content.
If you were going to upload some odd fetish-content videos for that small community to see, what better place to hide it from demonetization and possible strike than in a bottomless pit of pre-fab kids' content? It mixes in through the algos' meatgrinder, and gets carried along in the stream until someone not intended for saw it; and now it blows up. I don't think any of this disturbing content was unintentional, except it getting out of control and bleeding into the standard kid-vid fare. Sheer weight of numbers would do that. Up until that point, it was a diabolically clever strategy.
I'm right there with you about not wanting to know the truth about how these are made. I'm pretty sure it involves sweatshops full of tired, overworked animators who have to constantly pump out obnoxious shit for a pittance.
Only one Criticism for this video, I would like to see more examples of the clips you’re talking about. It feels like everything is leading up to a clip and than not showing it feels like there’s no release. Other than that I love this channel.
i babysit pretty often cause i'm a broke teenager, and while most of the kids i babysit watch normal kids tv shows, there is one family that puts on autoplay and lets endless half hour videos of recoloured peppa pig characters doing weird stuff play. it is terrifying and the bane of my existence. the one thing i'm happy about is that my own siblings don't watch those videos.

My nephew liked to play flash games on the living room computer and ended up on a site with games that involved taking glass our of pregnant Elsa's foot, also pregnant Dora the Explorer too getting stitches in her face. I thought that was messed up so I just put some games on the computer that are far more "healthy" like Carmageddon 2... Then he started watching UA-cam every day and he showed me some of the kinds of videos you are talking about here. I don't know why, but he loved watching them.
if i had to guess why these existed its probably some weird thing that intends to exploit algorithms to make money? or maybe its just sort of "casting a wide net" by creating as much garbage content as possible hoping that the cumulative effect of a billion shitty videos all being made at once will lead to some sort of profit
Yeah, I don't even get high and I can appreciate shit like this. It's just plain entertainingly weird. The internet is full of entertainingly weird, but there never seems to be enough of it. Funny how that works. Thanks for the heads up about more weird shit on the internet, dude.

6:37 This was made in GTA V 😂
Now they are stealing a video game from Rockstar
Sonic lmfao
@@sickly_172 are you joking?
I once see spiderman kicking people in ass in gta v video lol
You guys net neutrality matters and it's at risk, please set aside some time to read about what's happening
this video is prerecorded, probably waaaay before the net neutrality thing
Alex McCullough it means nothing.
So I've donated some money and emailed the chairman of the FCC, Ajit Pai.
every time you say 'babies getting shots' I hear 'babies getting shot'. thanks.
Glad I grew up with 2009 early internet windows movie maker edits, Newgrounds reuploads, youtube notepad tutorials and wii phone instead of this.
*I have so many questions.*
tristan digert me too!

I miss this channel more than any other MIA UA-cam. You started a comeback at the beginning of the year and I was super stoked, but now those videos are all gone and I’m just watching the same old videos over and over like my favorite canceled television shows.
I can't understand what that minion is supposed to be says.
Metalbear You are now entering a world from which you will never return you may chose to embrace it or fight it but you can cannot change it not can you go back
Typical Kid Shit
My theory is that someone thought "if I had to grow up with Courage the Cowardly Dog, Ren and Stimpy and all these crazy insane cartoons that were traumatizing then the next Generation has to as well" LOL
I Forget this channel exists.
Thanks for the minion jumpscare dude.
I can't say that this suprise me or that it's even new to me, but thanks for the reminder that Hell isn't always Fore and darkness, sometimes it's children videos on UA-cam.
As much as I liked the old way you presented during your videos, I really like this more casual format. Glad to have you back making content ;)
I KNEW IT, I KNEW IT, I KNEW THAT YOU WOULD DO A EPISODE ON ELSAGATE.
Hey Sam, did you forget to put some of Mango Kids' more legit looking stuff around the 9:36 mark? Because you mentioned it a couple times but just cut to Godzillas on the Bus.
My baby cousins watch that stuff nd it freaking weird
FishySmith37, just bright colors to distract them, with characters that look innocent enough when their parents glance over at the tablet? Yeah...
You should tell their parents what they're really watching.

What's scary is the fact that a lot of the Pregnant, Foot, Needle, mostly any of the Fettish based ones have or are made from even sicker Flash Games
The length of this video is 13:37.
This is known to us all, please refrain from pointing it out in your coment.
6:45 MIKE WAZOWSKI!
the bart/ doll on the shelf with the rock hard head was my brothers weapon of choice when shit got real growing up
F in the chat for the kids who are growing up from this
F
Remember when stories on disturbing shit on kid's shows were confined to creepypastas?
Anyone remember those shitty spongebob animations from 2006-2008 that had themes like saw and shoot-outs?
I've missed this channel a lot, this is arguably the most insightful and entertain channel I've ever come across, please continue doing this PLEASE.
i want to enter some of these channels in rap battles because they got fuckin rhymes for days
Can I just say that when I was 6 or 5 I unintentionally watched the Elsagate "PAW Patrol Babies Pretend to Die by Suicide".
Bro this channels upload schedule is fucked up
I remember one day (when all this wasn't a huge thing) i was on some weird tumblr and found a post talking about a channel called "hey kids".
I cannot understand a single thing in the minion part at 3:50. Can someone transcribe it for me?
Nexus 74 at a park kinda sounds like "there is nothing but black"
ArmyCrab *WHAT THW PHUCK~*
You are now entering a world from which you will never return you may chose to embrace it or fight it but you can cannot change it nor can you go back
i actually like this format more it seems more organic and it’s more engaging
I'm thankful this exists #thanksgiving
Dude legit this is one of the best UA-cam channels on the fucking platform don't stop what you're doing, love you man!
I think that was an octopus not a squid. Unsubscribed
So happy you are back.
Whoa you know this channel?
Huge fan of yours cmilk. I love Winston too. Been watching you both for years. I know this is an old post of yours but I was surprised to see you here.
It's time to make #selfsuckingsatanist a legitimate hashtag and trend
>screams in the voice of the incomprehensible abyss that watches from beyond the stars
this is an eldrich horror for early years
Thank you for shouting out H3H3 for showing how FUCKED the internet is. Tosh is also an advocate for outing these freaks.
That title is pure gold.
Okay, dinosaurs dancing is officially my new favorite thing.
I get it. the title is a parody of the weird nursery videos, right?
fuckface 666 yes
No swearing
They're cheap, unlicensed 3d character models dropped into generic bright colored settings, all programmed to do a dance animation. So basically they're automatically generated memes. They look innocent at a glance from a parent. With a horrifyingly dark underbelly, based on child abuse and wanking to babies getting stuck with needles. 😧
I can't even believe that UA-cam even opened UA-cam Kids to anything but hand-picked, reliable, major companies. What did they think was gonna happen??
Also, I am genuinely concerned about the number of these videos with the phrase "finger family" in the title. 😧😳😬
Can we just talk about the finger family fetish these channels have? Like seriously.
Thank you thank you Sam for continuing the awesomeness that is This Exists!
ShootingStarNeo I wasnt like that when I was young
you should investigate the "X has Conga Buster" phenomenon. essentially what people do is take kid show intros, change the color pallet, apply the mirror effect and bitcrush the audio. here's the link to a playlist of the most known ones of them:
X has a Conga Busher: ua-cam.com/play/PLEQVBR2XZauSBtTMZeZbu_rYxLjjqriPl.html
i was secretly hoping you would do a video on this
Thanks for continuing to make content for this channel. I always get pumped when I get an alert that you've updated.
Uh dude that link goes to a live web camming porn service now
Was not prepared for the deathminion.png and I probably pissed myself but unintended jumpscares aside, thanks for more top quality, intriguing-ass content.
Other than that I love this channel.
it feels closer to the eventuality of widely accepted 'entertainment' seen in Idiocracy, such as: 'ouch my balls'.
That name is a BITCOIN address
8:09 is a golden moment in this video. I chuckled. Love you.
What the fuck is dinky dog?
i babysit pretty often cause i'm a broke teenager, and while most of the kids i babysit watch normal kids tv shows, there is one family that puts on autoplay and lets endless half hour videos of recoloured peppa pig characters doing weird stuff play. it is terrifying and the bane of my existence. the one thing i'm happy about is that my own siblings don't watch those videos.
I couldn't decipher what the minion audio said due to the music. Could anyone transcribe it?
The Denmeister You are now entering a world from which you will never return you may chose to embrace it or fight it but you can cannot change it not can you go back
Typical Kid Shit
Old comment, I know but the audio said: "you are now entering a world from which you will never return. you may choose to embrace it or fight it, but you can not change it, nor can you go back."
Best. PSA. Ever. Basically, "This shit is disturbing as hell, and not for kids....but if you aren't a kid, get baked and watch, it's great!"
Wtf did that minion say?
Fluzzy The scrub You are now entering a world from which you will never return you may chose to embrace it or fight it but you can cannot change it not can you go back
My nephew liked to play flash games on the living room computer and ended up on a site with games that involved taking glass our of pregnant Elsa's foot, also pregnant Dora the Explorer too getting stitches in her face.
