- Part 1: Shows step-by-step how to build a low cost egg incubator with items that are easy to get. Use it for chicken, quail, duck, goose or any other bird. Even Reptiles!
Also demonstrates how effective two different types of thermostats are in an incubator.
My husband made me one to it's be at of a deep freeze it holds 4 egg turners! Thank you for sharing. This will help alot of people save money and still be able to hatch there eggs!
My grandfather from Sweden had thousands of white leghorns and made his own brooder incubator in the 1920s near Seattle. Other chicken ranchers came from miles away to see how he did it. His electrical contacts were Silver dimes that often burned out. But 100 years later, most of his descendants are engineers who could fix that problem right now. We would use broody hens:)
The fan is used for two purposes. 1.) it helps circulate the air around the thermostat which increases the rate of heat transfer and allows the thermostat to react more quickly to changes in temperature. 2.) it reduces temperature differences in the incubator. Since warm air rises, the top part of the incubator would naturally be warmer than the bottom part. Circulating the air around helps minimize this.
Love this video ! Enjoyed watching it !
thanks a lot for the instructions with them i have make my own
thx

Holy shit! It's Neil Patrick Harris..
ok i see all these comments but no one is asking what's the wattage on the bulb that would help nice video
and also if I decide to put a mini humidifier in my cabinet incubater and i decide to use a hygrostat thermostat, will the installation be the same as urs with the thermostat by using ?? Thanxx
hi, can you sayme what type of termostat you use in this incubator please?
how do you make this thing so that the fan doesn't run non-stop? Basically, so that it turns on to cool the thing down when it gets too hot on the inside.
This was tested using a few different wattages to see which would work best. The one you will want to use depends on how large your container is, how good your insulation is, what type of thermostat you are using and the temperature of the room where your incubator will be kept.
i use 25w- and no thermostat , is it okay ?sir
What brand of thermostat is best, and do keep that fan on all the time, please respond as soon as possible
