Pat on the back and standing ovation for that intro. Especially now that you’ve gone full time. From a future channel starters point of view. That intro kicks arse. As does Rebecca’s bat
I own many different cars from many different manufacturers . Team Associated cars and trucks were meant to race. They were quite simply the best. I used to race the RC10 and the RC10t truck. You might want to get one of those trucks too. The only cars and trucks that could compete the Team Associated were the one made by Team Losi. The best 4wd car at the time was the Yokomo Dog Fighter. This car was actually imported by Team Associated. I think it was called the YZ-10. This car is very rare.
In one my old RC Car Action magazines from 1991, there were ads for factory T.A. aluminum pans for $19 in all colors, pink, black etc. That would be awesome to find some new old stock of those
love the intro im the same when i buy something new but my misses has the eyes and ears of a bloody hawk its like Misson impossible tbe only trouble is i get caught 😂😅😅😅😂
The rear motor/chassis guard was an optional extra on the graphite, Team associated item was gold and the RPM was anodised black. I have a spare RPM if you need one. Front bumpers would be the same as gold pan RC10's, as in aftermarket fitments. RPM shorty bumpers are popular for Graphites but any RC10 bumper will fit as the Graphite carries the same fittings.
The car that Team Associated released when they finally decided to stop resting on their laurels of the classic RC10. It came a whopping 5 years after the original RC10. Ironically, they did not use it to compete at the '89 IFMAR Worlds.
Love that intro!! I've been there. I was just given a 1984 A Stamp Chassis RC10... A basket case though. Intact, just missing parts. I'll probably end up selling it, as much as I would LOVE to have another. (I raced the original back in the 80's) Several others have just fitted the Gold Pan rear guard to the Graphite. Adds weight though... I didn't get a close look, but for the Gold Pan, the 7 rib Front Tyres are what you want. Please stay SAFE! 😷 Carmine ✈🚂🚙
Nice addition to the RC-10 family bud, I told you they're addicting..lol The rear guard was optional for the graphite. You can get them from the gold pans or thru RPM directly I don't know how much they charge last I knew was $6.00 US but that was a few years ago. As for bumpers didn't have any stock but there is plenty thru the aftermarket. Such as Andy's, A/L, CRP, Proline, and RPM to name a few. As for the bodies you have the Graphite body is called the Protech 2, the other one I believe is the Viper which came on the Championship editions both the 6gear and Stealth variations. Nice start to an awesome RC-10 collection Galvin 👍😊
Hi i own a graphite team car that i raced hear in aus yes they did have a rear bolt on motor cover standard.I raced it in the early 90's I still have it today.
It's great, it must so great to find such a mint car, you must be getting difficult to know which one to paint first, I look forward to you getting them all built,😀😀😀
In the late 80’s I bought a rc-10 for $250, $85 for the bearing set, $450 for a t1-x Novak speed Controller, $200 for the futaba radio, $125 for a graphite chassis, $200 for ball linkage with titanium turnbuckles, $100 for titanium drive shafts, $100 for a trinity drag motor, $100 for a battery pack, $40 for gold plates battery and motor connectors. That’s in late 1980’s money. The parts are cheaper today.
My brother in-law gave me a very used rc10 graphite version too, almost the same as the one you have with novac speed control receiver and ko propo servo, except the shocks are dark like bronze color with plastic shock caps, sadly no wings and body.
I was fortunate to find an absolute mint RC10 graphite with the original box, Futaba controller and even the original store receipt from when he purchased it in 1989.
Nice rc10 graphite! I just purchased a NIB (open) rc10 graphite yesterday in Tokyo. The second most important associated car change after the RC10 Edinger.
I still have the black works RC 10, in fact I can see it from here it's across the other side of the room :-) I had the graphite works car as well, but that seems to have been stolen at some point from the loft when we had the roof repaired. :-( I did find however my MIP four-wheel-drive conversion kit for the RC 10, so I shall be putting that together at some point. It's an addiction, you just can't help yourself. :-)
I honestly wonder how much an original graphite stealth rc10 goes for in mint condition? I have several of them because I used to race back in the day and a few of them were just trophy Queens. But I have no idea what they're worth as a real vintage car not a release. Info would help
I don't know if you ever received the pictures that I sent you on your Facebook page of the Vintage Motors of all brands but also on that same sailor's site there were some packages of original Kyosho tires and RC 10 Tires I only seen the rear rc10 tires in the picture but they were still brand new in package you could tell they were vintage by the coloring of the cardboard paper at the top of the package that shows the brand, make and model number of the item
Love the intro. Surprised Rebecca didn't actually smack you one in the face 🤣😂🤣😂🤣😂 The RC10 Graphite is gorgeous, I had a black pan team car when they released the stealth transmission, wish I'd never sold it 😭
The next car I would like to get is the worlds car. I’m also after a stealth transmission to upgrade my A stamp gold pan but do you think I can find one!?! Zero around.
Down the rc10 rabbit hole, it's easy to end up with several of them. At one time I had 6 or so and multiple generations and editions. Any plans for a jrx2?
You can get a black aluminum motor guard from Rpm you just need to contact them and request it. Last time I ordered them they were $6 each plus shipping.
Actually I think they were $10 USD each plus shipping but they are very nice they match the design/style of the rear part of the gold pan but in black.
Maybe my memory about the rc10 graphite is off, my friend had a graphite and I seem to remember the chassis chipping or breaking relatively easy. I can’t remember if that is true or not.
It’s possible. Probably just an incorrect memory. We used to really hammer these cars back then so I guess anything could have happened. Love the content!!
Keep an eye out, one will come up in yours budget at some point Rob. It might need some work but slowly you can restore it and it will be something to be proud of 👍🏻👍🏻
@@RCKickschannel I will keep my eyes peeled but I still need to finish my rc glider / plane with a foldable propeller. I nearly finished it but then had to move it all to let the chimney sweep in, and that was years ago already lol !
Question Gavin - are all your all your buggies set up with toe out on the front wheels. I only ask as I am new to RC (having just built my 2005 Grasshopper and a Rising Fighter) and I have set them up with toe in as you would on a sports car. Any advice?
I used to have an RC 10 Gold pan, BUT mine had holes all over the chassis and also had the wider front end and the same wheels that are on the graphite !! Was this a real model or did I have a Frankenstein car lol. Ps its possible I may still have it somewhere hidden away ! 😊
It's a real car. I bought the same car. Wide front end gold pan RC around 90 or 91. Mine had short travel shocks of which I added long travel. I then put on Tamiya's Lunch Box wheels and body and made a stadium/ basher truck of sorts. Good times had by all. What a ride back then!
Mostly really good. The RC10 gold pan was probably the lowest quality I’ve had from them. It was thin and the cut lines are all missing. I have a good few Kyosho Mid bodies from them and the quality is great. I guess it comes down to the original that’s used to copy.
The second TQ10 version, introduced by Horizon Hobbies in early 1990, came with the same upgrades as the the RC10 Graphite, including: wider arms, rear bulkhead, turnbuckles, black idle gears, axles and front shock tower.
Now you'll want one with a Stealth transmission; maybe a Worlds. Then an Edinger, a Team car, a Graphite Team, and...oh!... the Reedy motors and Novak ESCs for all of them. Feeling sorry you for already.
I'm just spitballing here, but I'm counting eight rows of five cars on his wall. Assuming $300 USD per car (including parts and accessories), that's approximately $12,000 USD. Hopefully he can afford to retire.
I swear my girlfriend knows when I’ve gotten a new car despite my hiding all the evidence - maybe it’s how happy I am 😄 - also I can’t count the number of times I’ve left work early to get home to see a new car that came in the mail
Love that intro!
Yes! Glorious car and exactly the model I owned as a teenager.

That intro was epic. Lol
I'm rebuilding two gold pans right now.
I have a 30+ year old RC10 worlds graphite car with the RPM long arm conversion kit on it. I restored it and it works and runs GREAT!!
mine also has the long travel shocks in the front which are the same as he rear.

I do love the new direction your going with vintage rc 10 buggies .wait till you venture off into vintage Losi buggy’s and Stadium trucks
Hahaha I posted something along the same lines. It seems once you have about 8 or 10 AE cars you jump to the Losi's.
I have a TA buggy but it has a black aluminum pan chassis. I think it was called a Team Car but I cannot remember what year I bought it.

It has had a pro painted replacement body since this video. I went box art with a twist.
Hahahaha hilarious 😂👍

I used my other body but it won’t be easy without it.

Toe in is what you want so when under power the wheels are pushed inline with the rear.
Omg so true 😂
I'm not really a racer. Id like to build a buggy in this style. But just can't get around the price ...
If you want to run it, keep an eye out for a used one to save some money. Also look at Fan RC as you can get some from them.
