- Hi Everyone, This is the first of a series of 3 videos looking at 2 different versions of the Ducati 2 Valve cylinder head, this video sees me stripping down the 2003 Ducati 750 SSie heads from the engine I am rebuilding.
This type of head is found across many models in the Ducati range from the Monsters, ST2 and Multistrada to Supersport in various versions and capacities.
In the video I complete the following:
- Removal of the covers
- Removal of the camshaft
- Remove the shims
- Remove the intake and exhaust valves
- Remove the opening and closing rockers
- Complete a visual inspection of each head.
During the video I strip/teardown both the horizontal and vertical cylinder heads with some useful tips for those of you who are doing this work yourselves.
In this series the second video will see me also strip a set of Hypermotard 1100 heads and then the final video will see me compare the two different sets of heads and talk through the differences.

Easy to follow videos again and good angles for seeing the steps, very much appreciated 👍
The tangs on the rocker arms were a god send when they came in - worked on my pantah 600 and having to remove the rocker arms just for shimming up was a royal PITA
Sounds like bevelheads experience if not mistaken
@@xyesman5519 600SL pantah was early belt drive,, although would be nice to work on a bevel
This is worth waiting 🏍️
Glad you enjoyed it 👍😎
love these vids🙂
Thanks for watching 😎
Nellie, thanks for that, very informative. Interesting small puller you're using on the head, is it home made or factory. 👍👍😎 (HOKITIKA STH WESTLAND NZ)
Hi Kris, its a copy of the factory tool, I think I got mine via Laser tools. There are a few copies available on ebay. 😊
Nice video, but where did you get the tools for undoing the nut holding the cam drive pulley on. That went a bit fast.
I made one from a 25 mm hole saw. Ground teeth off and cut slots.
I got a replica holding tool and the socket from ebay
Nice. If worn valve guides, do you replace them and recut the seats on your own?
No, I have the valve guide tools but not the capability to align the valves correctly so would outsource the valve seats to get cut.
Hi Nellie, great content, thanks for taking the trouble to post, are you taking on new customer engine rebuilds and whats your contact details ? Thanks
Thanks for watching, I am taking on some limited work, you can reach my via Insta or via the channel details page 😊
