ok listened to this and here's what i think: I like the vocal processing that makes it sound smoother and underwater, but the drums that come on over the top of the mix i think kinda clash with the rest of the style that you're going for - they're kinda piercing. you need to start everything with a stated goal ("This song will be smooth and melancholic, to show how the relationship is" or whatever) and think about how every decision you make, lyrics, singing, production, helps convey that to the listener. you can justify any decision you make if you try hard enough, even bad ones, so you need to be self critical and honest. what i think you were trying to go for is a then drums high in the mix on every beat is not the way - it's a bit obvious and sledgehammer, you know? you're trying to be smooth, and having it hit there is a little bit much. quiet piano chords, washed out vocals, DRUMS ON THE BEAT HIGH IN THE MIX, kinda clash, they don't serve the same purpose. good song though
