Need your advice! 2004 Mercedes E320 wagon W211 with 225k POV test drive walk around

UPDATE! NO SALE!! When I return today the check engine light was on and the rear end was sitting on the ground with a air suspension warning light on! I consider this a close call they tried to get a bid for $1000 and no one bid…so NO SALE! This one is up for auction Friday morning at approximately 10 AM. What do you guys think I’m worried about the brake warning even though the car has super strong brakes and of course it’s got some bumper damage but it should be cheap! How much?

Sbc problem will be in red and it’ll say sbc malfunction braking is no longer available.. visit workshop … that’s not a sbc issue without a loud beep .

The SBC brake system is under warranty, so no cost there. High miles means you most likely will not be able to get it onto an auction site. There was a W210 4Matic wagon for sale here at $4K and it had no takers for months, but it was a bit more rough around the edges than this one. It had way lower miles too. I'd say $1500 would be a fair price for the one you're looking at.

I would go up to 4-5k if you want it. W211 wagons that are serviceable, despite the bumper, air hoses, and balancer are climbing in price. Non 4 matic is getting harder to find. This one needs pads. SBC failure lights up in red and tells ya to visit workshop. If you can get it for 2-3K don’t hesitate.

Check in behind the rear lights for any further damage. $500 - $800

Airbags are not difficult job. It’s about 500ish in parts depending where you shop.
If the car seems nice enough overall, it’s worth fixing. Good luck!
I think this car just needs pads. If it was SBC it would be giving you errors in red and telling you to brake with caution.

Wasn't there a recall for some bits within that brake by wire system? I'd run a code reader on it and go from there

Scratch that, there's too many small issues here for my liking. Not exactly a green flag car lke the other one was. I would avoid this one unless it goes under 2k
