Agreed on the stance about Kyle Fletcher. He’s good, but fuck, it feels like 20 years since Wardlow was the most over guy. And again, it makes me sick to see Hook suffering from career CTE by smashing his head on the FTW title glass ceiling
I feel like Tony Khan is trying to make Will Ospreay into his new CM Punk; his new favourite and is doing everything in his power to make Will Ospreay happy
Imagine if you were a billionaire who loved food and you hired 50 of the best chefs in the world. Once every six weeks you let them pair up and cook whatever dish they wanted and all the food critics showered YOU with praise. But then three times a week, you (who have zero experience in cooking) came up with your own menu and forced those chefs to cook it.
The disparity in quality would probably be familiar.
The reason this is at all confusing is that you give TK credit for the PPVs being good, that he doesn't deserve. The sole reason for the quality of the PPVs is the ability of the wrestlers themselves to create engaging wrestling. TK's involvement on that front is solely to have paid for a platform for some of the best wrestlers in the world to perform.
The weekly shows however are where those same wrestlers have to perform the awkward and nonsensical little bits and storylines that TK has come up with to fill the space between PPVs. THAT's where his input can really be felt, and that's where AEW is at its worst.
Maybe you're right. Lots of good points made here.
I think He does deserve credit for their PPV.
They are not just good Wrestling wise but from in ring storytelling perspective as well.
I'm at the point where AEW is just in the background!
@Queenlunaloveswolfking it's mostly how I watch it. I'll put It on, watch for a bit, get bored, then turn it off. Also, I don't think I've totally liked any of the PPVs. It's usually like 2 or 3 matches that I think are ok or really like.
@@fredheadeded5358Me too. The PPV's are just better than the weekly shows, but for me, usually nothing groundbreaking like you said.
It’s hard to have a bad ppv when it’s just matches. So that means nothing
@@ThatGuy-p2c GREAT POINT
that's what aew has always been, wwe is soap opera, & aew is bell to bell action
wwe ple's are just like their weekly tv & they suck just as much as well
@@imobjectivelybalancedonTHEball I don't agree, only because WWE's PLE's actually have the ability to change the course of months/years to come, (CATC 2022, or RR 2023 for exa.) so I can't say they are JUST like their weekly shows either.
@@imobjectivelybalancedonTHEball AEW really just has matches for the most part, and when they do have a "story," they do things like not mention Christian/Toni Storm for weeks after All In concluded. Even Swerve had no mention of his whereabouts (fron what I recall) after him and Hangman nearly deleted themselves. At least Prince Nana could've made an update on his condition or something. Stuff like that is why I'm kinda on/off with AEW. I try to watch AEW cause even I get tired of WWE (I feel people overrate their PLE's to an extent too). I didn't feel like WM38 or WM40 were some of the greatest ever (have some people tell it), so I see where your coming from tbf, but I'd still take the E's any day of the week. Srry for the long essay lol
I agree these weekly shows have been really terrible the matches are good but the storylines are just not there hopefully with this new TV deal they might have no choice but to turn things around
Matches aren’t “good” either
Alyx I agree with this one. This week was just ok, just too many logic gaps. Heck I even said Raw was better this week. You know how I feel about H and how He books. I look at both H and Tk as one in the same. One is a match maker ,and the other somewhat better at telling stories. The strong spots from Dynamite is definitely Mox, Darby, Nigel, and Hangman. Everyone else is in limbo and thats on Tk. Leo vs Jack was better than his match with Bryan. Sammy vs Ric was good. TK is rushing Nigel and Bryan because of ticket sales. We can cry until we are blue in the face on wanting this company to be better. It all falls at the feet of Mr. Anthony Khan.
I find their PPVs to be just a slightly better version of their weekly shows. The PPVs are just amped up matches with little selling and more even more chops. The only two things that matter at the end. The random acts of violence and the surprise new signings or return from injuries. Those are really the only differences between their weekly shows and the shows that you're supposed to pay for. I assume a lot of people pirate their PPVs considering the amount of people that watch the free weekly shows.
AEW Is Falling Apert With There Weekly Show Like WCW 1999 Nitro
because it's not a soap opera like wwe? you wwe fans just try & turn it into wwe lite
@@imobjectivelybalancedonTHEball exactly
AEW weekly shows have been great especially in 2024
@@jayjaybulldog9180 it's never going to be great every week
Just Alyx Awesome Video Today!!🔥🐐🐐💎
Kyle Fletcher is Australian and AEW is trying to break into the Australian market. They have a PPV scheduled there for next February. That's why they are pushing the Australian talent to get the fans there invested?
11:16, to the storyline point dune is doing 2 storylines as well.
Is it that WWE has better pacing on it?
P.s fan of all forms of wrestling 😅
AEW ppvs mean zilch if there is no build. That just means alyx is a nerd for “great matches” that don’t mean anything.
Shane needs to come in ASAP. I am an inspiring writer myself and I even have better ideas than TK and can be a better booker than him as well.
I’m not a fan of AEW at all the weekly show lack logic and intrigue and the PPV’s are the same matches over and over hit every finisher known to man kick outta all of em sell nothing repeat it’s literally video game wrestling
because you're a wwe fan & wwe is a watered down girly melodramatic soap opera
@@imobjectivelybalancedonTHEball your the only one here making any sense full of wwe fans here
I love there PPV and I love there shows Aew is doing excellent in both categories
Weekly AEW tv is so bad that it makes me enjoy the PPV's less. Because wrestlers get cooled off on tv.
Aew weekly shows are Hot Garbage.
wwe is a soap opera, their ple's are just like their weekly tv, & aew is bell to bell action
@imobjectivelybalancedonTHEball Actually WWE matches has become really Excellent and storytelling is Masterful. AEW matches has become pretty boring storytelling is nonexistent. I been watching AEW since 2019 it's not the same company.
@@phillipbrown2318 how can wwe matches be better than aew's when wwe is a watered down form of aew? what you mean is that wwe gets you all in your feelings, that you're involved in a relationship with, & emotionally attached to the wwe itself
@@phillipbrown2318 it can't be that excellent & masterful because they're still declining in viewership as well
@imobjectivelybalancedonTHEball If AEW has Great matches how come the buildings are empty ratings are down stop being in denial AEW is lost right now.
AARON.TEAGLE I've been saying that since day one of the things try to be still alive to ourselves
