I found you while I was in the hiring process for a CCA... You loved it in the beginning and made me feel optimistic. I’m sorry it didn’t work out for you, but I have been here 6 months and love it. I have a good office with decent supervisors. I love the fast paced work. Being outside. Exercise. Getting to know my coworkers. I’m just leaving this comment for the others who are starting out and thinking there is no hope. The internet stories makes it sound horrible, but it can be a great fit for you.

I lasted five months as a CCA before I decided it just wasn't going to work out for all the reasons you listed here. I switched to a Postal Support Employee (PSE) position this month. Now I'm sorting mail and parcels to the carriers in the morning, and when that's done I sort the mail for the P. O. box section. A lot less stress and pressure.
@@blancapedraza153 Yes, but I took it back in October last year when I worked as a temp PSE for the holiday season at the distribution plant. All of the various pre-hire tests are done online now and are very easy. It only took about five minutes.
I worked as a CCA for 4 months before I resign.My test score was 98 for a CCA position. I just applied for a PSE position and I score a 93 so I'm hoping they contact me. I just hope the job is better than being a CCA cause I was crying constantly after work being a CCA
Mandi! I am honestly so devastated you were forced out! 😭 I started last year in September as a CCA and struggled immensely. Everything you have described, I have felt on some level. I wouldn’t say I had a supervisor that directly made it difficult for me but she definitely was not always my cheerleader. I also learn by doing things over and over and over (like the same route). So I can basically memorize things without having to think about it. As a CCA this is difficult to do, you are switched up all the time and you’re just expected to preform as good if not better than the career carrier. I took to UA-cam last year trying to find anything and everything I could to get me through my struggles as a CCA. I found you and you gave me so much hope and inspiration. I truly am grateful for your videos and your time spent as a CCA. You 1000% helped me through my 90 days and taught me things I never learned in training. (The sequence number for instance.) I understand why you left. I often ask myself can I really do this for 30+ years?? I hope so. I want this to be my forever home. But I get it. The USPS needs a revamp. I’m curious what your dad’s input was on your experience? We have a couple of carriers that have been there for over 30 years and they often talk about how they missed the days before Amazon and the Internet. When there was not all the packages and time constraints. I truly am happy you found a new job that makes me happy. I wish you all the best Mandi!!! 💙💙
i remember u. I feel really bad for mandi. what mandi is referring too is that supervisors dont have leadership skills. and yes its a skill. Mandi got caught up in the politics of the job and not the actual job. I am coming up on my year . But i tell them, the supervisors i am talking about. to do not involve me in the politics. I am here to deliver the mail and get it to the people. if i cant do that thenn why am i a mailman and why are you guys telling me about this politics shit. I do not and i have no problem telling them or whoever supervisor it is, I have told all of them that in they face.that they dont have leadership skills and they need to take a class. They know i say exactly how i feel to them. So they pretty much leave me alone. If i cant get it done I just cant and need help. I stood up and said we are a family we are suppose to protect each other and not bash people because of work. i aslo said when u come into a company the company is here to protect the god damn people who work for them. if something happen u come to our aid. That other shit they doing I will not tolerate it. So like i said I am barely a year and i talk to them like that. all of them. Once u do that. they will let u be.

I know exactly how you feel I was only with the post office for 6 months and I was a PTF so I'm glad I got all the benefits and 401k off the bat but it was just so understaffed and so overwhelmed with everything just one day I couldnt handle it anymore and quit that day it was the best decision I ever made. The next morning i felt so relieved and was able to actually breath.
Definitely has to be your office. After watching your videos before my OJT, i was super worried about getting a bad office with bad supervisors. I love my office, my supervisors, and the postmaster. I guess I got lucky. Thanks for your videos and sorry it didn’t work out.
Sounds all too familiar. Ex mail carrier here. I left in November of 2019. Best decision ever and will NEVER look back. The USPS needs to be revised all the way across the board. And they wonder why they can’t keep CCA’s. I DO NOT MISS THAT PLACE! Enjoy your life now...Freedom at it’s finest.😌 Congratulations!
After day 30 including orientation l had enough. No matter how well you do someone is going to let you know you could have done better. I'm not ending every day defeated.
Just keep grinding Tisa. I got hired as a CCA but I haven't started yet. I've had jobs like this before though. Don't let them get you down. Do your best every single day and the job will get easier, I swear. Don't take anything personally. Just try to improve a little bit each day and eventually it will get better. I promise!
Dominance how long did it take before they provided a start date I’ve already done my finger prints/background worked for the post office previously so no interview needed I haven’t heard anything Idk if I should just move on or keep waiting

I feel bad for the experiences people have but c'mon man it can't be that bad. I served 4 years in the Marines did a 6 month tour in Iraq and work at Fedex. I don't understand why people say they cry after their route is done or have to carry a heavy package up some stairs and they bitch and complain about it. I can tell you this if people buckle at the post office they would scream bloody murder working at Fedex.
Ok this video just made me super nervous, cause I’ve already done my shadow my llv training and going to the academy training tomorrow but I completely understand this video. They had me casing and delivering mail and packages on shadow day and showing me what to do with the mail we bring back. They were treating me like when I come in they are going to treat me like I’ve been there for years so I should know what I’m doing and that scared me. Your videos have really helped me and I just hope and pray I can do this. LISTENNNN!!!! Everything you said in this video, you're absolutely right about!!!! I went into USPS as a RCA and converted to CCA because everybody told me to convert over to CCA. I felt as if RCA was hard but omg being a CCA is harder!! The supervisors talk to me like I'm dirt, they're literally overworking me and never saying anything nice to me! I cried so hard yesterday because I hateeeee this job now! With the elections around the corner we have sooooo much political mail to case and deliver the same day, that's not including all the buckets of ballots and raw mail we have to case as well. I think im going to quit soon.
I start academy soon and stumbled across your videos. Found them to be very informative. Not gonna lie I'm a little apprehensive now but I'm gonna try and stick with it. As a CCA who’s been here almost three years I feel this, it’s taken over my life the 60 hour work weeks has ruined relationships and just taken so much from me. And I rarely ever even get a thank you or good job. I feel this to my bones tbh

Thanks for making this! I felt like i was the only one, I am same age as you, I am what some would call a job hopper ever since I lost a job i was at for a long time (now 7 years ago!). SO i def understand what it's like. Most companies out there do not care about employees, we are treated as disposable and it really really makes staying at any job difficult! It really helped to know i am not alone!
My sister was a corrections officer for many years then she became a counselor for the inmates in the same prison she retired at 53/54 years of age and is now enjoying her retirement, stay strong it is a very hard job good luck and don't let anyone bring you down.

I complete 90 working day on October 3rd! I love the physical side of the job i went from size 20 to size 16! The only tough part is dealing with the toxic work environment not everyday but there are the days where the OTs act like highschooler's. Wear earbuds while in office casing tune out the whiny babies :) good luck!!

Hi Mandi👋🏾 Good for you and Congratulations on your next move👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽🍾🥂 I been left USPS after a few months in as a CCA and I miss it sometimes but I agree with you 100% on how poor the training is!! You definitely work for the money and you would think that the places would treat ppl better and want you to be great at what you do but unfortunately they can careless of how sick u are and how unfamiliar u are with the work. All they care about is all the Mail being done to make them look good. I really loved it but I got tired of driving far to get to the hub , driving along Day delivering mail and then having to fight traffic an hour n half to get home only in time to eat dinner (late) and shower and go to bed and do it all over again 14 days straight 😩 man it was strenuous on the body!! My feet had broken out in sores and started becoming numb at the tips!! My husband saw the pain I felt and pushed through daily! I lost weight and began missing having a life. It awe to be a law for how they work cca’s!! Plus I was working for Miami so the mike radius was wide which means I had to be prepared to go out further to other hubs whenever they needed me there. That’s mainly why I left also because I preferred to be stationed at one location! And then of course on sundays there was amazon deliveries with USPS 🤦🏽♀️ well I got my feelings back in my toes and some of that weight back but most of all I have a life again. I’m sorry you had to go through the mayhems with such ppl but I’m glad your on to bigger n better things now! Forget USPS!!!
This is how I felt when I worked for Usps. I worked as a RCA in Pennsylvania and the same thing happened for me on the RCA side. The Training offered is not enough. We sat through powerpoints and more powerpoints. Had one day of a ride along with a regular and then I was thrown to the wolves. I think you should get more time with the regular to know the route. To learn where things are and learn the proper way to case. If Usps gives more time for training and such I don’t think the post office would have the problems they have, It’s a wonder why Usps is so under staff and there is a rolvering door. The attitudes I received from supervisors is crazy. And when you don’t know something they give you an attitude like you have been working there for 15 years and should know. Between the way the trucks are and how you are treated it’s crazy to me that Usps is still around.

I have orientation the 22nd. After seeing many CCA's experiences, I'm pretty nervous. I tried for a job at UPS but I would have to be a package handler to become a driver and there is a 2 year waiting period for that so I went with USPS. My friend is a Correctional Officer and is happy with it, good luck!
Some managers are the devil.. hubby had a boss that fired everyone he had under him (including firing my husband who he made work literally all the time on a salary and he made my husband so sad he cried, couldn't sleep, etc). His boss was middle aged and went to hospital one day and just died.. no reason.. sad. I had similar experience when I was a 21 year old single mom.. my boss sent my desk stuff to my home without notice essentially firing me. He was only 40 or so and died suddenly as well. Had young kids, a wife, huge house, living the dream. VERY SAD! Seems God took care of business? Btw, both of us are very hard workers and give 110%.
Good job , you lasted 1yr I only lasted 7 mnths as a CCA in South central district in Ca. I ended up take a job in the USPS P&DC center , so much better. And dont be sad about not saying good bye. Unfortunatly its the nature of the job. That poisition needs so much reform , I agree

Yes, everything you said is exactly right. I thought it was great when you said what I’ve always said....(almost 8 years in) it’s the hardest and the easiest job there is LOL. It’s so true but it is more hard than easy. It’s a shame that so many people bust their ass for ‘upper management’ to look good. Every carrier works so hard because you cannot NOT work hard with this job. It’s physically debilitating and then The way management treats you is mentally debilitating. Thank you for being honest about the facility and letting it be known that things aren’t always ‘perfect’. The general public thinks it is the best job ever. It’s not. I am SO HAPPY FOR YOU THAT YOU GOT OUT BEFORE YOU GOT TOO FAR IN!!! WAY TO GO!!! GOOD FOR YOU!!!!
It sucks i applied and didnt get it cuz there was a lapse with my DL but i really enjoyed your videos and i was really sad ehen you had to go through that surgery. I never comment on videos or channels but i really enjoyed yours you helped me feel pumped but i believe things happen for a reason at least now you can say you tried it and know about. I also had a bad experience working at USPS, a female supervisor was unfair, unjust and lied to get rid of me. All my coworkers at warehouse loved me, I worked hard and was very efficient. She was jealous and felt threatened by me, I was never absent and was let go because of attendance...left home sick 8 hours into shift once. And for unsatisfactory performance...total bullshit. I also cried from the unfair reasons I was let go. She was rude, condescending and out right miserable. I wish you the best of luck!!! I missed all major holidays with my family so I definitely didn't miss USPS. Felt relieved. You seem so much happier and you're so inspiring.
I finished CCA and a shadow recently and and still lost. Orientation was a mess. Didn't have proper trainers because they were short staffed. We don't even when we get health insurance for our selves/family. The union rep was the most helpful
Couple of comments - I watched your initial USPS videos and thought they were great, and very informative, since my orientation so far has not been ( I do driver training in an LLV next week). FWIW I'm a 48 YO male, doing a complete career change (international sales since 1997). What I've seen so far is making me seriously reconsider my choice. I'm fully aware that I will be entry level, and have no problem with that. In the last two years, I've done what a lot of people would call "lowly" jobs - I was a grunt for a house building company (talk about hard, and in 95 degree plus weather!), I did the Doordash thing, Instacart, etc. What I DO/WOULD HAVE a problem with, is being treated like garbage, as if I were some newb in a fraternity being hazed. As someone mentioned in the comments below, it seems to be a USPS culture problem, not a job problem. And just based on what I've seen so far in my brief interaction with them, I tend to agree. If I talked to one or even a few CCA's that complained about the treatment by supervisors, I could write it off as sour grapes, bad worker, etc. But I am hearing almost the SAME kind of complaints by very different people, in different places (including talking to people in my class that had previously worked there, quit (or were fired) and are back again). That tells me that it's probably systemic. Makes me think that, like a frat pledge (to continue my analogy), "they" put you through hell for...3 months? Why? To make you quit? No, but it probably feels like that. Because THEY were put through hell for three months, and they are paying it "backward", and maybe it feels "just" to make the newbies go through what they did. And some ppl are just teapot tyrants and like and abuse tiny bits of power (in their realm). As a grown ass adult, IF that is the case, I am going to have a problem with that. If I could tell my 25 year old self anything in terms of the future career in front of him, it would probably be "Always stand up for yourself and don't just "take it". I'm not talking about talking back after being corrected for something you did wrong, and if you continually do those things, maybe even have a stern talking to, or write up, whatever. That's a given, and as a new guy in what sounds like a difficult job, I EXPECT some level of correction. Serious, even stern correction does not bother me at all. I'm talking about what sounds like verbal abuse (screaming at people, physically yanking them in front of co-workers and dressing them down, etc). If I'm in a situation where I am being verbally abused, I'll be walking. When you consider that you will be worked to death (80+ hours weeks?), sounds like being on call, etc. no time off, ZERO work life balance, the pay is not THAT good. Anyway, I am going to try it, no matter what...and will try very hard to make it 90 days. Primarily because I LIKE working outside, doing physical work, moving around, etc. Perfect job for me. But if that perfect job is surrounded by a toxic culture... I will close with a comment about your looks since so many other people (mostly in other videos) have mentioned this: 1. In your earliest videos, when you had NO make-up, I think you looked great (better, in fact than WITH makeup :D) You say you love beauty in your video...whatever. From watching your videos, you already have a beauty, and it has nothing to do with what goop you put on your face, or not, or even how you look. I think just from seeing your videos, that you have a great personality, and probably are a very good person, with a beautiful soul. Trust me when I say you don't need the "glamour" stuff. :P I'm also sorry the USPS didn't work out for you. You sounded SO optimistic and excited, and even proud at first, your videos were really infectious and obviously sincere. Hopefully this next chapter in your career will go/is better for you!
Say good-bye to holidays, weekends (you have to work Sundays) and work at least 10 days straight at a time. But must don't get days off if you are under probation period. It is rough and to top it off you get buried in Amazon packages! I have had 14hour work days during holiday season.
Totally Agree with you!!! I'm on my 2nd week on the job & no one cares! "They" assume you KNOW all the routes and wonder why "You're so slow" or "what did your trainer teach you?". I said the same as you "They taught me THEIR route that THEY know." They don't care...they say "You should know how to organize so you can deliver faster, you did terrible". As a CCA we are treated badly & feel like we're walking on egg shells the first 90 days. Yes...supervisors & management does get your in trouble all the time where most places supervisors & management stand up for you!! Thank you so much for sharing with us your journey with USPS, so glad I'm not the only one who sees this!
The best response I learned was "I'm doing the best I can" ... The funny thing is that most of our higher ups, have never delivered the mail and have no idea what it is like. Even if they walk behind you, there is so much more to it than they even realize.
Reminds me of the Army; Toxic leadership, disorganization, getting rid of good soldiers and keeping bad ones. Be careful as a CO (corrections officer), it’s not all that different. Same toxic leadership, corruption, accusations, and scandals. That’s why I left corrections/police/private security. I did all 3. Hopefully it works out for you.
Security/Corrections/Police don't have a clue how to vet leadership. I left those professions, including the military. I was in the Air Force Reserves and towards the end of my enlistment, I was having anxiety attacks about going.
What amazes me is how all past CCA went through pretty much the same hardships. My experience was short lived (only few months), but I'm still carrying some baggage from it since it changed my lifestyle so much (eating habits, sleeping pattern, physical and mental stress). It could be a great job, but the CCA training and "so called" Academy are a joke.How they throw you on the street is definitely dangerous (especially the driving part). I am a hard worker, I was hoping for a change in life, put a good 20 years in it and then retire. Well, it didn't work. Now I'm trying something else and is working ok. Hope, my dear Mandi, your new path works ok for you too. Man ur so right , I thought it was gonna be a great job but I was wrong they’re rushing u to the streets they want u to be experts in casing etc why don’t they hire casers . Upgrade the vechiles etc .
@@LLSZXYY316 Doing Swimming pool and spa cleaning for privates. It's a huge business here in South Florida, where I live. Pretty much every home here has a pool and /or a hot tub, not too mention the hotels and resorts. A pool technician certification is quick an easy (can be taken online). The service is in high demands here, and you can make your own schedule. Few good clients and a few easy to care pools, and you are set. I have to add I was a server in fine dining restaurants for over 30 years and had no previous knowledge of the chemistry involved in pools. A good text book, a lot of common sense and listen to other people's suggestions, experiences and tips and you'll be ok. Enjoy flexible hours and be outdoors (often in gorgeous gardens) in tank tops, shorts and flip-flops (and yes, I burned all my waiter's aprons and ties!!!). I still wished the Postal job worked out, I gave my best but that system is too messed up...such a shame..... Ciao!
I was a 2 times CCA, meaning I quit the first time and worked up the nerve to reapply to try again the 2nd time which didn’t end well for me either. I can totally agree with every single thing you said!! The supervisors make the job harder than it already is. It’s sad because I did love the job even with all of its challenges. But anyway, congrats on your new career, hopefully it works out for you!
I was a PTF and I only worked at USPS for 2 months. It started out good and I liked it but then they would put so much work for me and expect me to get it done in 8 hours when it takes a regular carrier to do it in 10. My supervisors were HORRIBLE! I honestly felt like the workplace was like being in high school again with all the drama.I literally cried everyday after work because I was so stressed out and i felt so unappreciated. They treat PTF like dogs and do not care for our well being. Regulars were talking about how supervisors were saying they wanted to fire me which I did not understand why the supervisors were discussing that with the regulars. I reported them to the Union and after that week I did do that, they made me resign trying to say i missed too many days when I did not miss any at all. Tried to call the union back but they were no help either. I definitely will never go back to USPS as a letter carrier. USPS NEEDS to have compassion towards the carriers, be more professional and definitely revamp training.

I was being moved around a lot - from traveling .30 minutes to over 1 hour to do routes. Amazon should REALLY take over the USPS and modernized it. Everything is old and outdated.

Mandi do not feel bad about leaving the post office. I did 30 years as a city carrier and every year it got worse. I am just lucky I made it to retirement. It was close those last few years with all the jerk supervisors they kept running in on us. I hope you find something good to work at going forward. You deserve it.
You should have called your area retention liaison. What you delt with is unacceptable and the Usps should know about it before that supervisor does the same thing to someone else. I’m so sorry that happened to you. Thank you for making these videos it has helped me a lot.
I empathize with what you’re saying. I just finished 3 days of OJI with a person with 12 years experience on their route. Also, and this didn’t help, English was their second language. So, first day with the training wheels off they put me on a route to cover for someone. I get to the office, told the supe that it’s my first day. They had the route already cased and took off a small portion. I so wanted to succeed. It was the park and loops that kicked my butt. I parked at the first house, say the order of the DPS and went. Problem was when it looped back it went passed my LLV and I only brought enough to go to the LLV. Threw off everything from there. Then when I get to the halfway mark the sun starts going down and now I cannot finger the mail and have to use the street lights to see the mail. 3 other carriers came and helped me finish. They were cool and were puzzled on how such a green CCA could get such a route. The map I was given was small and even was missing a couple streets I had to draw on. I asked one of the guys that helped me if this was the point where most CCAs quit. He laughed and said “Pretty much”. I can see how doing a full on route can be easy in the sense you still have to hustle but you can knock it out before OT kicks in. But that’s if you have experience in doing the route. I have an idea and hopefully I can do a video that might help not just CCAs but careers attempting a new route.
I’m almost at 2 years as a CCA, I got lucky with the 2 stations I’ve been to. I feel sorry for these CCA’s that get treated like shit, you made the right choice
Mandi I am an RCA and at the moment it is worse than Christmas. I have to say I put in a lot of hours there just to be treated like dirt.I'm only at my current home office and my other part time job. I can understand why you left, it is really a stressful job. I'm actually proud you stuck it out. I have faith that you do better at your new job.
3 weeks in as a pse window clerk, I was let go for being slow. Supervisor said he had been watching me since he clocked in. I said, oh you can watch me thru your office walls?! What a joke.
I know. USPS is a joke really. Too many people talking behind your back. The lady at my orientation said they will snitch and talk behind your back. Be prepared. It's true. There always seemed to be someone hiding and lurking around, ready to snitch. Not my kind of job.

Gosh girl, you are so hard working, never think of yourself as a quitter. I really really hope that the corrections officer job is for you. If it’s not don’t be afraid to leave just because time is passing by and you need to “ have your feet planted “ for your retirement. Stay strong:)
Hated it! This job isn’t for everyone. Everyday I felt so drained and exhausted. They work you like a damn slave and then get pissed at the most slightest inconvenience. Congrats to you for getting the hell out of there. Best of luck to you love 💜
I knew from your previous content that this video would be good. I'm sorry and disappointed you had to quit. Laughing as I type this because it's at the same time hearing you laughing at saying the same thing. I fully understand and agree with everything you eloquently stated. After almost 29 years of carrying mail, 27 in the same location I'm well experienced to validate everything you said.
I've been a cca for almost 2 months now and I think about quitting this bullshit job everyday lmao. I just took the job because I was bored but now im just tired af all the time lol
I quit after a year of abuse. I remember it was hell. We would have an insane amount of mail and packages. And the reason it was so much, was because they were under staffed and would combined multiple routes. CCAs are always treated like we should be just as fast as the regulars. We get moved from route to route never given a chance to learn the street or the route. U.S.P.S is the worst place to work as a CCA. We are nothing but mules for them. I had panic attacks every morning because I didn't want to go back to work. It was awful. Best day of my life was when I resigned. I'm sorry for all mail carriers who are still suffering in that job. God Bless you all and protect you and I hope your days get better.
First off, sorry it ended the way it did for you, that's not fun. My last 3 careers, I had zero experience for, a deck hand on tug boat, fire dept, and paramedic intern. I was yelled at a lot in all 3 and dismissed, patronized and put down. After I plowed through those "hazardous months" learning the job, things turned around for the better. Unfortunately, the constant beat downs eventually break a person. For others concerned for their futures, it's ok to push back and also learn how to stroke egos. Sometimes they want to know how much you can take and some are just genuine pricks. Push back and hold your ground when necessary. That will garner more respect in the long run.
I lasted a month. I had high hopes and was looking forward to this career. I had a supervisor loose his shit on me on day three and then all this other shit went down. Worst job ever. Good for you for not putting up with the shit. I took all my cloths to the union office.
You're speaking straight facts... They trained me for 4 days and I asked for more training and they was distraught like what do you mean?? I'm like I need more training to do this job is what I mean!!! So they ended up retraining me and it still didn't help because like you said...they know they're own route. They know what house has dogs and where the mailboxes are on the house etc; My biggest problem was I did my 8 hour route and by time I finished it was 7pm maybe 8pm and I was like ok can I go home? And they would send me out with more work at night, can barely see. I was like its not safe outside....like seriously they was like go buy a head light. It was horrible and I never got a day off.. I ended up calling in like yes, I'm not gonna be in today because they work you like a slave. They don't care about your life. They don't care about you and only the mail. It's sad.... I applied for a different position. I see why the there's a high turnover because of the nonsense they put you through.
Wow you look real good thought you were early 20s. My app is in process right now makes me nervous going for rca position. Iv been at my current job for 10 years walmart sucks so bad. All the people working there are just terrible so much gossip it’s like high school. But guess that’s gonna be every job you go to just how people are . I know the video is over a year old. I just became a CCA, but I was a Casual from '03 to '05. After leaving, I joined the Air Force, worked security, state prison as a CO, a city police officer and armored truck driver/messager. Since becoming a father a month ago, I decided I needed something a little more safe so I can watch my kid grow. I decided to try USPS to try and buy back my military time toward retirement. I'm carrying in a fairly large city (four offices) with MANY open regular positions open. The problem is, they're losing CCAs too quickly. One quit two days ago on the eve of becoming a regular! Now this video has me second guessing my decision.
I hope everything worked out for you. Everyone's story is different. A lot of people quit, but a lot of people stay and retire. It just depends on each single persons experience
I start 2mm orientation, very excited. I work for nyc parks and recreation. I have great supervisors and they don’t want me to go, they said well keep you on payroll. Figure it out 😉
I recently was let go for failing to improve enough during my trial period. During the 72 days I was with them I had only one day off a week, was given conflicting orders from the supervisor and postmaster, and given the silent treatment by the staff because I wouldn't engage in office gossip. To make matters worse, the Union representative and supervisor were very hands on and flirty with each other so I had no confidence any grievance I may have had would have landed anywhere but the supervisors' ear.

I was a CCA for 3 months and I had a positive outlook like you at first, I’d always be trying to uplift my coworkers who were sick and tired. After the 3 months I had enough and I drove my mail truck back to the station and told them I quit. The environment that I was in was super hostile and my supervisors were pieces of shit! After I quit, I was filled with regret; I loved the job I just hated the way my supervisors were!

Shipping clothes is so easy though. Just get some polymailers.. those grey bags kohls uses can be reused or order some on ebay... a postal scale.. and packing tape. After you sell something a link will show up that says something like Print Shipping Label. You click on it and it will bring up the shipping screen. You type in the weight and dimensions. It will give you options on different services. If you use a flat rate box you have to pay for flat rate shipping, etc. A polymailer can go first class if under a pound. I like to double bag if I can or at least put the item in a bread bag from walmart (look on very bottom shelf with ziplocs for cheap box of bread bags) and then put in polymailer. If it's a sturdy item like a book put in a bubble mailer. Or you can wrap in bubble and put in a polymailer or box or whatever.. doesn't matter cause it's media mail =cheap so weight is not gonna be a killer. :) You can also squish clothes in a flat rate mailer or flat rate bubble mailer.. the bubble mailer has a higher rate so make sure to select flat rate bubble mailer. Those are handy if you go over a pound in weight of clothes. You can roll them or squish them in. There are lots of ebay shipping videos! Once you do it once you should be good! It's easy! You can order USPS priority boxes and flat rate priority mailers, etc. online!
My Postmaster is devoid of empathy/ compassion. Honestly a complete psycho. No joke. It was newspaper day, so I was delivering heavy bundles of newspapers (40-50lbs) in addition to the regular mail/ small packages in my satchel. It was neg 20 wind chill, snow/ ice everywhere. Walking in the snow for at least 10 miles was like walking through 10 miles of quick sand. She stopped to harass me that I was 3hrs behind schedule and needed to pickup the pace! Yet she's never in her life done my job! Always well dressed in a comfy office. She's a psycho with zero appreciation for our hard work in a dangerously cold environment. Another time she was hounding for not being quicker in the same kind of conditions and this time I stood up to her and told her I was working as safely as possible and she left me alone.
Sad you quitted seeing all of the precious advice you had been giving to people about CCA/RCA. At the same time I fully understand your decision. Everyone has to choose what is better for them in life.
I'm a correction officer ready to leave.. i been a correction officer for 4 yrs. You get to feeling like a inmate . And they ugh complain nag.. as correction officer its not worth it well not for tdcj..
Policy should be if you haven’t carried mail for 10 or more years you can’t be supervisor. Problem is they don’t know how to treat people. Been a carrier 20 + I’m doing 30 and I’m gone. I’ll be 56 and I’m not walking away when I retire I’m running. Good luck to you

I found you while I was in the hiring process for a CCA... You loved it in the beginning and made me feel optimistic. I’m sorry it didn’t work out for you, but I have been here 6 months and love it. I have a good office with decent supervisors. I love the fast paced work. Being outside. Exercise. Getting to know my coworkers. I’m just leaving this comment for the others who are starting out and thinking there is no hope. The internet stories makes it sound horrible, but it can be a great fit for you.

I lasted five months as a CCA before I decided it just wasn't going to work out for all the reasons you listed here. I switched to a Postal Support Employee (PSE) position this month. Now I'm sorting mail and parcels to the carriers in the morning, and when that's done I sort the mail for the P. O. box section. A lot less stress and pressure.
Did you have to take the test to become a PSE?
@@blancapedraza153 Yes, but I took it back in October last year when I worked as a temp PSE for the holiday season at the distribution plant. All of the various pre-hire tests are done online now and are very easy. It only took about five minutes.
You got really lucky because I couldn't make it until they hired me as a PSE

I worked as a CCA for 4 months before I resign.My test score was 98 for a CCA position. I just applied for a PSE position and I score a 93 so I'm hoping they contact me. I just hope the job is better than being a CCA cause I was crying constantly after work being a CCA

Mandi! I am honestly so devastated you were forced out! 😭 I started last year in September as a CCA and struggled immensely. Everything you have described, I have felt on some level. I wouldn’t say I had a supervisor that directly made it difficult for me but she definitely was not always my cheerleader. I also learn by doing things over and over and over (like the same route). So I can basically memorize things without having to think about it. As a CCA this is difficult to do, you are switched up all the time and you’re just expected to preform as good if not better than the career carrier. I took to UA-cam last year trying to find anything and everything I could to get me through my struggles as a CCA. I found you and you gave me so much hope and inspiration. I truly am grateful for your videos and your time spent as a CCA. You 1000% helped me through my 90 days and taught me things I never learned in training. (The sequence number for instance.) I understand why you left. I often ask myself can I really do this for 30+ years?? I hope so. I want this to be my forever home. But I get it. The USPS needs a revamp. I’m curious what your dad’s input was on your experience? We have a couple of carriers that have been there for over 30 years and they often talk about how they missed the days before Amazon and the Internet. i remember u. I feel really bad for mandi. what mandi is referring too is that supervisors dont have leadership skills. and yes its a skill. Mandi got caught up in the politics of the job and not the actual job. I am coming up on my year . But i tell them, the supervisors i am talking about. to do not involve me in the politics. I am here to deliver the mail and get it to the people. if i cant do that thenn why am i a mailman and why are you guys telling me about this politics shit. I do not and i have no problem telling them or whoever supervisor it is, I have told all of them that in they face.that they dont have leadership skills and they need to take a class. I know exactly how you feel I was only with the post office for 6 months and I was a PTF so I'm glad I got all the benefits and 401k off the bat but it was just so understaffed and so overwhelmed with everything just one day I couldnt handle it anymore and quit that day it was the best decision I ever made. The next morning i felt so relieved and was able to actually breath.
Definitely has to be your office. After watching your videos before my OJT, i was super worried about getting a bad office with bad supervisors. I love my office, my supervisors, and the postmaster. I guess I got lucky.

Sounds all too familiar. Ex mail carrier here. I left in November of 2019. Best decision ever and will NEVER look back. The USPS needs to be revised all the way across the board. Just keep grinding Tisa. I got hired as a CCA but I haven't started yet. I've had jobs like this before though. Don't let them get you down. Do your best every single day and the job will get easier, I swear. Don't take anything personally. Just try to improve a little bit each day and eventually it will get better. I promise!

I feel bad for the experiences people have but c'mon man it can't be that bad. I served 4 years in the Marines did a 6 month tour in Iraq and work at Fedex. I don't understand why people say they cry after their route is done or have to carry a heavy package up some stairs and they bitch and complain about it. I can tell you this if people buckle at the post office they would scream bloody murder working at Fedex.

Ok this video just made me super nervous, cause I’ve already done my shadow my llv training and going to the academy training tomorrow but I completely understand this video. They had me casing and delivering mail and packages on shadow day and showing me what to do with the mail we bring back. They were treating me like when I come in they are going to treat me like I’ve been there for years so I should know what I’m doing and that scared me. Your videos have really helped me and I just hope and pray I can do this. LISTENNNN!!!! Everything you said in this video, you're absolutely right about!!!! I went into USPS as a RCA and converted to CCA because everybody told me to convert over to CCA. I felt as if RCA was hard but omg being a CCA is harder!! The supervisors talk to me like I'm dirt, they're literally overworking me and never saying anything nice to me! I cried so hard yesterday because I hateeeee this job now! With the elections around the corner we have sooooo much political mail to case and deliver the same day, that's not including all the buckets of ballots and raw mail we have to case as well. I think im going to quit soon.

As a CCA who’s been here almost three years I feel this, it’s taken over my life the 60 hour work weeks has ruined relationships and just taken so much from me. And I rarely ever even get a thank you or good job. I feel this to my bones tbh

Thanks for making this! I felt like i was the only one, I am same age as you, I am what some would call a job hopper ever since I lost a job i was at for a long time (now 7 years ago!). SO i def understand what it's like. Most companies out there do not care about employees, we are treated as disposable and it really really makes staying at any job difficult! It really helped to know i am not alone!
My sister was a corrections officer for many years then she became a counselor for the inmates in the same prison she retired at 53/54 years of age and is now enjoying her retirement, stay strong it is a very hard job good luck and don't let anyone bring you down.

I complete 90 working day on October 3rd! I love the physical side of the job i went from size 20 to size 16! The only tough part is dealing with the toxic work environment not everyday but there are the days where the OTs act like highschooler's. Wear earbuds while in office casing tune out the whiny babies :) good luck!!

Hi Mandi👋🏾 Good for you and Congratulations on your next move👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽🍾🥂 I been left USPS after a few months in as a CCA and I miss it sometimes but I agree with you 100% on how poor the training is!! You definitely work for the money and you would think that the places would treat ppl better and want you to be great at what you do but unfortunately they can careless of how sick u are and how unfamiliar u are with the work. All they care about is all the Mail being done to make them look good. I really loved it but I got tired of driving far to get to the hub , driving along Day delivering mail and then having to fight traffic an hour n half to get home only in time to eat dinner (late) and shower and go to bed and do it all over again 14 days straight 😩 man it was strenuous on the body!! My feet had broken out in sores and started becoming numb at the tips!! My husband saw the pain I felt and pushed through daily! I lost weight and began missing having a life. It awe to be a law for how they work cca’s!! Plus I was working for Miami so the mike radius was wide which means I had to be prepared to go out further to other hubs whenever they needed me there. That’s mainly why I left also because I preferred to be stationed at one location! And then of course on sundays there was amazon deliveries with USPS 🤦🏽♀️ well I got my feelings back in my toes and some of that weight back but most of all I have a life again. I’m sorry you had to go through the mayhems with such ppl but I’m glad your on to bigger n better things now! Forget USPS!!!

This is how I felt when I worked for Usps. I worked as a RCA in Pennsylvania and the same thing happened for me on the RCA side. The Training offered is not enough. We sat through powerpoints and more powerpoints. Had one day of a ride along with a regular and then I was thrown to the wolves. I think you should get more time with the regular to know the route. To learn where things are and learn the proper way to case. If Usps gives more time for training and such I don’t think the post office would have the problems they have, It’s a wonder why Usps is so under staff and there is a rolvering door. The attitudes I received from supervisors is crazy. And when you don’t know something they give you an attitude like you have been working there for 15 years and should know. Between the way the trucks are and how you are treated it’s crazy to me that Usps is still around.

I have orientation the 22nd. After seeing many CCA's experiences, I'm pretty nervous. I tried for a job at UPS but I would have to be a package handler to become a driver and there is a 2 year waiting period for that so I went with USPS. My friend is a Correctional Officer and is happy with it, good luck!

Some managers are the devil.. hubby had a boss that fired everyone he had under him (including firing my husband who he made work literally all the time on a salary and he made my husband so sad he cried, couldn't sleep, etc). His boss was middle aged and went to hospital one day and just died.. no reason.. sad. I had similar experience when I was a 21 year old single mom.. my boss sent my desk stuff to my home without notice essentially firing me. He was only 40 or so and died suddenly as well. Had young kids, a wife, huge house, living the dream. VERY SAD! Seems God took care of business? Btw, both of us are very hard workers and give 110%.
Good job , you lasted 1yr I only lasted 7 mnths as a CCA in South central district in Ca. I ended up take a job in the USPS P&DC center , so much better. And dont be sad about not saying good bye. Unfortunatly its the nature of the job. That poisition needs so much reform , I agree

Yes, everything you said is exactly right. I thought it was great when you said what I’ve always said....(almost 8 years in) it’s the hardest and the easiest job there is LOL. It’s so true but it is more hard than easy. It’s a shame that so many people bust their ass for ‘upper management’ to look good. Every carrier works so hard because you cannot NOT work hard with this job. It’s physically debilitating and then The way management treats you is mentally debilitating. Thank you for being honest about the facility and letting it be known that things aren’t always ‘perfect’. The general public thinks it is the best job ever. It’s not. It sucks i applied and didnt get it cuz there was a lapse with my DL but i really enjoyed your videos and i was really sad ehen you had to go through that surgery. I also had a bad experience working at USPS, a female supervisor was unfair, unjust and lied to get rid of me. All my coworkers at warehouse loved me, I worked hard and was very efficient. She was jealous and felt threatened by me, I was never absent and was let go because of attendance...left home sick 8 hours into shift once. And for unsatisfactory performance...total bullshit. I also cried from the unfair reasons I was let go. She was rude, condescending and out right miserable. I wish you the best of luck!!! I missed all major holidays with my family so I definitely didn't miss USPS. Felt relieved. You seem so much happier and you're so inspiring.
I finished CCA and a shadow recently and and still lost. Orientation was a mess. Didn't have proper trainers because they were short staffed. We don't even when we get health insurance for our selves/family. The union rep was the most helpful
Couple of comments - I watched your initial USPS videos and thought they were great, and very informative, since my orientation so far has not been ( I do driver training in an LLV next week). FWIW I'm a 48 YO male, doing a complete career change (international sales since 1997). What I've seen so far is making me seriously reconsider my choice. I'm fully aware that I will be entry level, and have no problem with that. In the last two years, I've done what a lot of people would call "lowly" jobs - I was a grunt for a house building company (talk about hard, and in 95 degree plus weather!), I did the Doordash thing, Instacart, etc.
What I DO/WOULD HAVE a problem with, is being treated like garbage, as if I were some newb in a fraternity being hazed. As someone mentioned in the comments below, it seems to be a USPS culture problem, not a job problem. And just based on what I've seen so far in my brief interaction with them, I tend to agree.
If I talked to one or even a few CCA's that complained about the treatment by supervisors, I could write it off as sour grapes, bad worker, etc. But I am hearing almost the SAME kind of complaints by very different people, in different places (including talking to people in my class that had previously worked there, quit (or were fired) and are back again). That tells me that it's probably systemic. Makes me think that, like a frat pledge (to continue my analogy), "they" put you through hell for...3 months? Why? To make you quit? No, but it probably feels like that. Because THEY were put through hell for three months, and they are paying it "backward", and maybe it feels "just" to make the newbies go through what they did. And some ppl are just teapot tyrants and like and abuse tiny bits of power (in their realm).
As a grown ass adult, IF that is the case, I am going to have a problem with that. If I could tell my 25 year old self anything in terms of the future career in front of him, it would probably be "Always stand up for yourself and don't just "take it". I'm not talking about talking back after being corrected for something you did wrong, and if you continually do those things, maybe even have a stern talking to, or write up, whatever. That's a given, and as a new guy in what sounds like a difficult job, I EXPECT some level of correction. Serious, even stern correction does not bother me at all.
I'm talking about what sounds like verbal abuse (screaming at people, physically yanking them in front of co-workers and dressing them down, etc). If I'm in a situation where I am being verbally abused, I'll be walking. When you consider that you will be worked to death (80+ hours weeks?), sounds like being on call, etc. no time off, ZERO work life balance, the pay is not THAT good. Anyway, I am going to try it, no matter what...and will try very hard to make it 90 days. Primarily because I LIKE working outside, doing physical work, moving around, etc. Perfect job for me. But if that perfect job is surrounded by a toxic culture...
I will close with a comment about your looks since so many other people (mostly in other videos) have mentioned this: 1. In your earliest videos, when you had NO make-up, I think you looked great (better, in fact than WITH makeup :D) You say you love beauty in your video...whatever. From watching your videos, you already have a beauty, and it has nothing to do with what goop you put on your face, or not, or even how you look. I think just from seeing your videos, that you have a great personality, and probably are a very good person, with a beautiful soul. Trust me when I say you don't need the "glamour" stuff. :P
I'm also sorry the USPS didn't work out for you. You sounded SO optimistic and excited, and even proud at first, your videos were really infectious and obviously sincere. Hopefully this next chapter in your career will go/is better for you!
Say good-bye to holidays, weekends (you have to work Sundays) and work at least 10 days straight at a time. But must don't get days off if you are under probation period. It is rough and to top it off you get buried in Amazon packages! I have had 14hour work days during holiday season.

Totally Agree with you!!! I'm on my 2nd week on the job & no one cares! "They" assume you KNOW all the routes and wonder why "You're so slow" or "what did your trainer teach you?". I said the same as you "They taught me THEIR route that THEY know." They don't care...they say "You should know how to organize so you can deliver faster, you did terrible". As a CCA we are treated badly & feel like we're walking on egg shells the first 90 days. Yes...supervisors & management does get your in trouble all the time where most places supervisors & management stand up for you!! Thank you so much for sharing with us your journey with USPS, so glad I'm not the only one who sees this!
The best response I learned was "I'm doing the best I can" ... The funny thing is that most of our higher ups, have never delivered the mail and have no idea what it is like. Even if they walk behind you, there is so much more to it than they even realize.

Be careful as a CO (corrections officer), it’s not all that different. Same toxic leadership, corruption, accusations, and scandals. That’s why I left corrections/police/private security. I did all 3. Hopefully it works out for you.
Security/Corrections/Police don't have a clue how to vet leadership. I left those professions, including the military. I was in the Air Force Reserves and towards the end of my enlistment, I was having anxiety attacks about going.
What amazes me is how all past CCA went through pretty much the same hardships. My experience was short lived (only few months), but I'm still carrying some baggage from it since it changed my lifestyle so much (eating habits, sleeping pattern, physical and mental stress). It could be a great job, but the CCA training and "so called" Academy are a joke.How they throw you on the street is definitely dangerous (especially the driving part). I am a hard worker, I was hoping for a change in life, put a good 20 years in it and then retire. Well, it didn't work. Now I'm trying something else and is working ok. Hope, my dear Mandi, your new path works ok for you too. Man ur so right , I thought it was gonna be a great job but I was wrong they’re rushing u to the streets they want u to be experts in casing etc why don’t they hire casers . Upgrade the vechiles etc .

@@LLSZXYY316 Doing Swimming pool and spa cleaning for privates. It's a huge business here in South Florida, where I live. Pretty much every home here has a pool and /or a hot tub, not too mention the hotels and resorts. A pool technician certification is quick an easy (can be taken online). The service is in high demands here, and you can make your own schedule. Few good clients and a few easy to care pools, and you are set. I have to add I was a server in fine dining restaurants for over 30 years and had no previous knowledge of the chemistry involved in pools.
A good text book, a lot of common sense and listen to other people's suggestions, experiences and tips and you'll be ok. Enjoy flexible hours and be outdoors (often in gorgeous gardens) in tank tops, shorts and flip-flops (and yes, I burned all my waiter's aprons and ties!!!). I still wished the Postal job worked out, I gave my best but that system is too messed up...such a shame..... Ciao!

I was a 2 times CCA, meaning I quit the first time and worked up the nerve to reapply to try again the 2nd time which didn’t end well for me either. I can totally agree with every single thing you said!! The supervisors make the job harder than it already is. It’s sad because I did love the job even with all of its challenges. But anyway, congrats on your new career, hopefully it works out for you!

I was a PTF and I only worked at USPS for 2 months. It started out good and I liked it but then they would put so much work for me and expect me to get it done in 8 hours when it takes a regular carrier to do it in 10. My supervisors were HORRIBLE! I honestly felt like the workplace was like being in high school again with all the drama.I literally cried everyday after work because I was so stressed out and i felt so unappreciated. They treat PTF like dogs and do not care for our well being. Regulars were talking about how supervisors were saying they wanted to fire me which I did not understand why the supervisors were discussing that with the regulars. I reported them to the Union and after that week I did do that, they made me resign trying to say i missed too many days when I did not miss any at all. Tried to call the union back but they were no help either. I definitely will never go back to USPS as a letter carrier. USPS NEEDS to have compassion towards the carriers, be more professional and definitely revamp training.

I was being moved around a lot - from traveling .30 minutes to over 1 hour to do routes. Amazon should REALLY take over the USPS and modernized it. Everything is old and outdated.

Mandi do not feel bad about leaving the post office. I did 30 years as a city carrier and every year it got worse. I am just lucky I made it to retirement. It was close those last few years with all the jerk supervisors they kept running in on us. I hope you find something good to work at going forward. You deserve it.

I empathize with what you’re saying. I just finished 3 days of OJI with a person with 12 years experience on their route. Also, and this didn’t help, English was their second language. So, first day with the training wheels off they put me on a route to cover for someone. I get to the office, told the supe that it’s my first day. They had the route already cased and took off a small portion. I so wanted to succeed. It was the park and loops that kicked my butt. I parked at the first house, say the order of the DPS and went. Problem was when it looped back it went passed my LLV and I only brought enough to go to the LLV. Threw off everything from there. Then when I get to the halfway mark the sun starts going down and now I cannot finger the mail and have to use the street lights to see the mail. 3 other carriers came and helped me finish. They were cool and were puzzled on how such a green CCA could get such a route. The map I was given was small and even was missing a couple streets I had to draw on. I asked one of the guys that helped me if this was the point where most CCAs quit. He laughed and said “Pretty much”.
I can see how doing a full on route can be easy in the sense you still have to hustle but you can knock it out before OT kicks in. But that’s if you have experience in doing the route. I have an idea and hopefully I can do a video that might help not just CCAs but careers attempting a new route.
I’m almost at 2 years as a CCA, I got lucky with the 2 stations I’ve been to. I feel sorry for these CCA’s that get treated like shit, you made the right choice
Mandi I am an RCA and at the moment it is worse than Christmas. I have to say I put in a lot of hours there just to be treated like dirt.I'm only at my current home office and my other part time job. I can understand why you left, it is really a stressful job. I'm actually proud you stuck it out. I have faith that you do better at your new job.

3 weeks in as a pse window clerk, I was let go for being slow. Supervisor said he had been watching me since he clocked in. I said, oh you can watch me thru your office walls?! What a joke.

I quit after a year of abuse. I remember it was hell. We would have an insane amount of mail and packages. And the reason it was so much, was because they were under staffed and would combined multiple routes. CCAs are always treated like we should be just as fast as the regulars. We get moved from route to route never given a chance to learn the street or the route. U.S.P.S is the worst place to work as a CCA. We are nothing but mules for them. I had panic attacks every morning because I didn't want to go back to work. It was awful. Best day of my life was when I resigned. I'm sorry for all mail carriers who are still suffering in that job. God Bless you all and protect you and I hope your days get better.

First off, sorry it ended the way it did for you, that's not fun. My last 3 careers, I had zero experience for, a deck hand on tug boat, fire dept, and paramedic intern. I was yelled at a lot in all 3 and dismissed, patronized and put down. After I plowed through those "hazardous months" learning the job, things turned around for the better. Unfortunately, the constant beat downs eventually break a person. For others concerned for their futures, it's ok to push back and also learn how to stroke egos. Sometimes they want to know how much you can take and some are just genuine pricks. Push back and hold your ground when necessary. That will garner more respect in the long run.

You're speaking straight facts... They trained me for 4 days and I asked for more training and they was distraught like what do you mean?? I'm like I need more training to do this job is what I mean!!! So they ended up retraining me and it still didn't help because like you said...they know they're own route. They know what house has dogs and where the mailboxes are on the house etc; My biggest problem was I did my 8 hour route and by time I finished it was 7pm maybe 8pm and I was like ok can I go home? And they would send me out with more work at night, can barely see. I was like its not safe outside....like seriously they was like go buy a head light. It was horrible and I never got a day off.. I ended up calling in like yes, I'm not gonna be in today because they work you like a slave. They don't care about your life. They don't care about you and only the mail. It's sad.... I applied for a different position. I see why the there's a high turnover because of the nonsense they put you through.
Wow you look real good thought you were early 20s. My app is in process right now makes me nervous going for rca position. Iv been at my current job for 10 years walmart sucks so bad. All the people working there are just terrible so much gossip it’s like high school. But guess that’s gonna be every job you go to just how people are . I just became a CCA, but I was a Casual from '03 to '05. After leaving, I joined the Air Force, worked security, state prison as a CO, a city police officer and armored truck driver/messager.
Since becoming a father a month ago, I decided I needed something a little more safe so I can watch my kid grow. I decided to try USPS to try and buy back my military time toward retirement. I'm carrying in a fairly large city (four offices) with MANY open regular positions open. The problem is, they're losing CCAs too quickly. One quit two days ago on the eve of becoming a regular!
Now this video has me second guessing my decision.

I start 2mm orientation, very excited. I work for nyc parks and recreation. I have great supervisors and they don’t want me to go, they said well keep you on payroll. Figure it out 😉
I’d keep in contact with those supervisors. The turnover rate for the USPS is 50-60%

I recently was let go for failing to improve enough during my trial period. During the 72 days I was with them I had only one day off a week, was given conflicting orders from the supervisor and postmaster, and given the silent treatment by the staff because I wouldn't engage in office gossip. To make matters worse, the Union representative and supervisor were very hands on and flirty with each other so I had no confidence any grievance I may have had would have landed anywhere but the supervisors' ear.

Dominance oh you are in for one hell of a surprise, let me tell you that. I was a CCA for 3 months and I had a positive outlook like you at first, I’d always be trying to uplift my coworkers who were sick and tired. After the 3 months I had enough and I drove my mail truck back to the station and told them I quit. The environment that I was in was super hostile and my supervisors were pieces of shit! After I quit, I was filled with regret; I loved the job I just hated the way my supervisors were!

Shipping clothes is so easy though. Just get some polymailers.. those grey bags kohls uses can be reused or order some on ebay... a postal scale.. and packing tape. After you sell something a link will show up that says something like Print Shipping Label. You click on it and it will bring up the shipping screen. You type in the weight and dimensions. It will give you options on different services. If you use a flat rate box you have to pay for flat rate shipping, etc. A polymailer can go first class if under a pound. I like to double bag if I can or at least put the item in a bread bag from walmart (look on very bottom shelf with ziplocs for cheap box of bread bags) and then put in polymailer. If it's a sturdy item like a book put in a bubble mailer. Or you can wrap in bubble and put in a polymailer or box or whatever.. doesn't matter cause it's media mail =cheap so weight is not gonna be a killer. :) You can also squish clothes in a flat rate mailer or flat rate bubble mailer.. the bubble mailer has a higher rate so make sure to select flat rate bubble mailer. Those are handy if you go over a pound in weight of clothes. You can roll them or squish them in. There are lots of ebay shipping videos! Once you do it once you should be good! It's easy! You can order USPS priority boxes and flat rate priority mailers, etc. online!
My Postmaster is devoid of empathy/ compassion. Honestly a complete psycho. No joke. It was newspaper day, so I was delivering heavy bundles of newspapers (40-50lbs) in addition to the regular mail/ small packages in my satchel. It was neg 20 wind chill, snow/ ice everywhere. Walking in the snow for at least 10 miles was like walking through 10 miles of quick sand. She stopped to harass me that I was 3hrs behind schedule and needed to pickup the pace! Yet she's never in her life done my job! Always well dressed in a comfy office. She's a psycho with zero appreciation for our hard work in a dangerously cold environment. Another time she was hounding for not being quicker in the same kind of conditions and this time I stood up to her and told her I was working as safely as possible and she left me alone.
Sad you quitted seeing all of the precious advice you had been giving to people about CCA/RCA. At the same time I fully understand your decision. Everyone has to choose what is better for them in life.

I'm a correction officer ready to leave.. i been a correction officer for 4 yrs. You get to feeling like a inmate . And they ugh complain nag.. as correction officer its not worth it well not for tdcj..

Policy should be if you haven’t carried mail for 10 or more years you can’t be supervisor. Problem is they don’t know how to treat people. Been a carrier 20 + I’m doing 30 and I’m gone. I’ll be 56 and I’m not walking away when I retire I’m running. Good luck to you
