There were a few interesting differences in the molding of the two Bumblebees. While the Nitro Bumblebee did not have a painted plate, his plate actually has numbers molded into it whereas the original DOTM Bumblebee didn't have numbers on his plate - just a painted plate. And Nitro has sculpted Autobot symbols near his doors - unfortunately, they're really tiny and just not painted. I've been debating getting a second Nitro while they're still on sale for $5 a pop at Family Dollar to paint.
There is another nice little trick hidden in this figure's molding. Look at his forearms in robot mode - you'll see that he actually has his plasma cannon from the movie molded right into his forearms. ^_^
I have a question Optibotimus, have you got the Wal-Mart exclusive movie Bumblebee? I'm somewhat confused by the packaging. On the back, his chest and shoulders have this orange sunburst fade that makes the robot mode look great, but when I opened the figure and transformed him, he was his normal yellow and black. The reason why I asked is because I'm wondering if it's always like that, or if it's just my version.
I dont know why but i really love this figure. He looks so... different i love the stealth force look so ill probably buy 2. Great review man cant wait to see more DOTM reviews.
TheDarkOne Gaming if you have the original dotm deluxe bumblebee, you can take the arms off of the original, take off nitro bees arms and put the originals arms on nitro it still transforms nicely i did it on mine
One thing I didn't like about him is that he has a huge gap in his torso. I found that I can rotate the door kibble, unfold them and bring them under his arm pit, either door or wheel first (I like door first so the wheels pop up from behind his shoulders). It hides the gap away and I think it makes him look tighter. Its not the usual 'door wing' look but I like it better.
the thumbs on yous have the ends cut off i was fortunate to have this guy and crankases hands fully intact. l love your way of transforming him i am gonna start doing it like that. great video.
On my movieverse shelf i have this version of Bee as the robot mode, and the TFTM "concept camaro" deluxe Bee as the vehicle mode. Ps, i have no TF Prime bee, but this guy fits in nicely with all the Prime deluxe figures, and if you didnt know the show well youd think it was part of the line.

When I was a kid I didn't like this figure and it was a mistake that I got him. I thought I bought on eBay the regular version. Always be sure you are buying the right thing, but that being said, I love this figure and I'm happy I got the wrong one.

hey paul, I was thinking of picking up a few Deluxe Class figures from wave 2, I want Topspin, Sideswipe, Nitro Bumblebee and perhaps the Walmart Exclusive Deluxe Optimus prime. Do you suggest I not pick up some of these figures? I've seen Peaugh's review of Sideswipe and well his video's dont help aswell as yours do. So if you can please get Sideswipe and Review him. the rear bumper os compleetly different in that area thats supose to be black, the exhost tips are different on the new one and theres a negative impresion mold in the midle of it

I traded the Nitro Bee's weapon for Mudflap's. This weapon is weirdly identical to Skid's. Switching them and giving Bee Mudflap's 'Bumblebee axe thing ala Battle Blades' really makes Bee and the twins look great.
@Slayershoop do the creator of the first transformer anime is also the one who creates all transformer animes????? coz i'm wondering why do they have to create a different version of bee???
I just bought 1 and i have to agree with paul, the only thing that is not good with this bumblebee is the lack of risk articulation. Same thing with the battleblades bumblebee
@mikoji123 Well, bumblebee in G1 was a lot different, and Hot Rod was supposed to be the kiddie character, well for the movie and 3rd season at least, and Hot Shot is the kiddie character for the Unicron Trilogy. So basically movie Bee and Hot Shot are the same kind of character.
@Slimshadow457 i agree. i'd be jumping with joy if hasbro decides to remake all characters from animated series to "Bay-formers" version...example: Animated Lockdown to Movie Transformer Lockdown-Bay version...that Bay version Lockdown looked very wicked cool, dont you think so?
I also have drift from aoe and I keep his 2 little blades on the roof/backpack of this bee like 2 little yandu arrows from guardians of the galaxy vol.2
I really like this figure in both modes but like you can't stand the arms! However, I took the Deluxe Class DOTM Bumblebee's arms off of him and stuck him on Nitro Bumblebee and it looks a whole lot better, but you can't transform him is the only downfall. Which defeats the purpose of calling it a transformer, but if you don't mind just having him as a display piece on the shelf then yeah it looks way better than the arms it came with.

How you fix it
Use a bit of glue. And move the joint every half a minute, as to not let the glue freeze the joint.
it may be because i actually have the actual toy in front of me, but the paint on the head sculpt makes him look adorable

That was my second Bumblebee figure I should know how to transform him but you forgot to mention that the shoulder pads can move

Nitro Bumblebees weapon is actually DOTM Deluxe class Skids Mechtech weapon, but re-painted.

Uh oh bee is sportin' the butterfly doors haha. Love the back end of the vehicle mode I think that's worth a buy right there.
The only one closest to the actual DOTM Bee is the one from wave 1, becasuse it has the spoiler. We could just paint in the missing black.

Vehicle mode looks less techy cybertronian and more of a modernized version of Doc browns time machine. Now that would be an awesome custom.

actualy nitro does have the autobot sybmols on both doors, but theyre like battle blades optimus, small and barely noticable

the doors on nitro bumblebees back can get pushed in right up against the middle of the hood of the car in robot mode thats what i do at least.
Found one complete with pack and extra mechtech wepon for $5 at thrift shop!
