@@jackpewter8076 Having partied with Mark Knight isn't that much of an achievement if you consider how long he's been doing it, and mostly, how much of a madhead he is
Mark, it is so refreshing to hear your thoughts on the beginning days of djaying when clubbers came to dance and meet people. I’m 57 and been djaying over 43 years still for the passion of music. And yes what are they looking at? It kills me to see lifeless crowds. Toolroom forever. Keep pumping out those monster bangers. Cheers from NY. Just be in the moment.
Yes, Mark speaks from my soul. I'm almost as old as he is and was also able to experience the emergence of house music. I was always fascinated by the vibe and the atmosphere that the music spread. Today it's more about putting on a show and being seen to make as much money as possible. Yes, there was something special about that time and those who were able to experience it can count themselves lucky.
I remember watching Mark Knight in The Glam nightclub in Cardiff in 2012 and we were shouting to him “DO THE AYATOLLAH MARK KNIGHT!”. Great times indeed haha. For any DC10 Ibiza underground music fans, check out “DC10 Ibiza CircoLoco Greatest Hits” series on UA-cam!
Mark Knight & Toolroom getting outside the fray, love it, and couldn’t happen to a better team & brand 🤙🏽🖤. 25+ years producing electronic music and I’ve gained 10x knowledge using Toolroom academy. No FKN way we could access that level of quality content 5 or 10 years ago…so cool and inspiring. Never been a better time to be an artist 🤙🏽😎🖤🕺🍻
Excellent episode again Mike! Always been a fan of Mark and his music, he’s produced some Absolute Tunes! Great to hear him on the show. I Didn’t actually realise how much he was behind 👏🏻👏🏻
great podcast yeah in Germany they tape your camera up if u get caught taking it off your kicked out the night club you was thinking about is berghian proper gaff
Interviewer needs to research a little better, already been raised that Red Face is a Garnier original. MK edits it nicely and brings the flow up to date for sure but interviewer should know and ask how he went about securing licensing and Laurent blessing etc
Remember meeting mark at the shindig in Newcastle he was sound as fuck. I think most of the newer DJs are more about image I actually think it’s boring now.
Loads of cool parties about that people just boogie,no phones in sight..some nights in Ibiza are just worst with phones …Party’s with that burning man vibe are about the music .
Man with the red face was originally made by Laurent Garnier, not sure why there was no mention of this as it’s not a MK original, he may rearranged it but not his idea. 🥸
Mike you should do more interviews with people you are genuinely interested in cos it really come across aswell. Could see you enjoying this one, talking about the music you enjoyed etc As oppose to some of the finance stuff you seem a bit bored in those but aye, just some feedback. Keep on truckin
Partied with Mark many times, dudes a legend. Toolroom for life!
Sure you have 😂

I`ve been following Mark ever since the early 2000s. Such a legend. Thank you for this one. Kudos from Romania.

53 brother and feeling it more than ever (at least that I can remember) 😂 cheers 🍻
Finally a dj doing a podcast!!! Love it!!
Laurent Garnier - The Man With The Red is the original and beautiful track.
I'm surprised Mark didn't mention it, especially since his version is basically the same as the original
@@stephanelk7930 He did mention it, he said it earned him a lot of money on Beatport. His mix is better for DJs.
@@stephanelk7930when he talks about getting the guy to jam on the sax lol, even his own body interrupts and calls him out

Yeah... I was disappointed too. In his place, the first thing that would have come to my mind would have been a shoutout to Laurent Garnier.

As a Dj myself really enjoyed this and did share it on a few platforms
You've got the love is my all-time fav house track ever! It defines house music!
Ya dun kno bruv! Tune
As an aspiring DJ this was such a good episode, thanks Mike!
Mad respect, been a fan since 2010, money is just limited to this life, the soul transcends this life, its eternal
Lauren Garnier should get some credit. Don’t take his creative genius and claim as your own.
I could have swore it was his track before this interview.
LEGEND .
I remember when Mark started blowing up in 99 and 2000 we started shifting over to the CDJs- it was an amazing time for DJs❤️🔥
Such a good range of guests
More DJs and producers please 🙏
Marks in it for all the right reasons, 100% the real deal...
Can I ask why Mark doesn't even mention Laurent Garnier when it come to the Man with the red face?
Well this was an unexpected surprise, great chat, very inspiring 🎵

Toolroom is the real earner, just goes to show you need to build a quality brand.
Please be the first to interview Samuel & Ruben Onuha. They just bought a villa in Dubai ❤
What a dude, great video
My mate gave Mark a line of Mkat at MOS back in the day 😂

Thx so much for your testimony Mark! Much appreciated! Thx for your passion & keeping real.
Niceeee always wanted an artist/label owner as a guest on your pod one day
Loved it ❤
Downpipe isn’t house music. But it is great.
They spoke about phones,I saw a video clip of Solomon stopping a gig because everyone had their phones out
