The final number of how much you could spend on a trip to Gatlinburg is completely dependent on your activities.
There are probably a million factors: Where you stay, how much you eat out, how many attractions you see and do, and the list goes on.
But not everything in Gatlinburg costs an arm and a leg, there’s still plenty to do for a family on a budget. Here are some of the best ways to enjoy a mountain getaway without breaking the bank.
Gatlinburg Skybridge
The Skybridge and Anakeesta are two very unique things in Gatlinburg. The Gatlinburg Skybridge is a little more challenging for those who fear heights, while Anakeesta offers more activities. We, however, opted to see the Skybridge as it is the more affordable option of the two. While general admission for both is about $30-$35, we knew we'd spend way too much money trying to see other attractions once inside Anakeesta.
Our Favorite Spots in Gatlinburg:
The Gatlinburg Skybridge is the longest pedestrian suspension bridge in the U.S. at nearly 700ft across the valley.
Ole Smoky Distillery
Moonshine and Whiskey. Both are staples of East Tennessee, and the best part is, that it’s quite easy and cheap to try some.
Some spots offer free samples, while others charge a whopping $5. (Please tip your servers, though. They put on an amazing show!).
The hardest part will be leaving without buying your own bottle of moonshine, which we failed to do.

Love the budget challenge content. Gatlinburg used to be one of our family destinations. Haven't been there in years, so much has changed.
It was my first time there in years too and I was amazed by what changed and what I remembered. Feel like Ripley's have been there for ages!
I got tingles just watching yall walk over the sky bridge 😆
I get them while I was editing that part 😅😮💨
@@JourneywithJenandDrew hope he brought a spare pair of shorts lol
Yall have a great vibe. Great vid. ✌🏾 we love the Smokey Mtns.
Thank you so much. It's a little bit of a different experience than we're used to, but I love the peacefulness of the mountains as a break from city life.
My family and I going on a road trip in April. Will be going through Virginia and have the safari park on the docket. Then onto Tennessee and the smoky mtns. Another great video. You earned our sub. If u two keep uploading quality vids like this I guarantee your channel blows up!
Thanks for the kind words. Fingers crossed. A lot of work goes into these edits. Word of advice on the Sarfari Park, it's an unbelievable experience but be prepared for some paint scratches. You'll need a deep clean afterward too to get all the lost pellets out too.
heading there next Aug.. can't wait!
Is it your first time? Let us know what you think. Also, be sure to do a moonshine tasting!
I love Gatlin im going back 2023 January❤😩my heart get shivers everytime i think about it
what's your favorite thing about Gatlinburg?
Y’all are so cute!! I enjoyed the content.. Planning a trip in 3 weeks & looking forward to the moonshine 😃
Thanks! Hope you enjoy it! Moonshine tasting is worth it
I'm scared of heights. Wife said we going to sky Bridge. Lol
I'm going to do it.
Cool video
You got it! Just hope you get luck and there's no one trying to be funny and jumping on the bridge 😅.
I'm thinking about throwing my Lil Honda Grom in back of the Sante Cruz. U think it's would be worth my while. Running back in forth. Gatlinburg and pigeon forge area. It goes 55 mph. Lol
Might be pretty fun! How long are you staying? The trip from Pigeon Forge to Gatlinburg is pretty short, but getting stuck in Pigeon Forge traffic with that could be a hassle.
@@TheDetourDuo long weekend 4 days...
Never thought about the traffic. Thx
@@dasshape00 could be fun if you take it out in the morning. There was like no traffic from when we drove around at 8am. But afternoons down the main streets of Pigeon Forge and Gatlinburg is all stop and go by lunch time at the latest
@@TheDetourDuo thx for all the info. Any out of the way stuff that's cool to go to that unique or not well known?
Yall done spent the budget after ya ate if you include the lift lol
Haha yeah that's why we didn't include the lift because technically we bought it in advance of the day, but it's definitely a difficult place for a low budget. We were in trouble after parking. Once we ate breakfast we were done for.
@@TheDetourDuo lol I hear ya. I spent 1500 in 3 days there trying to save. I'm here now in a cabin I didn't have to pay for, trying to stay away from downtown. It's insane how much they profit around here.
Would you guys be up to do a collaboration in the smokies? Enjoyed your video!
Thanks. Yeah absolutely, but we won't be back in the states for quite some time though
HOW CRAZY IS THIS WE GO EVERY CHRISTMAS THERE TO WE ALSO GO TO DOLLYWOOD WE WAS THERE LIKE 3 MONTH AGO GREAT VIDEO
Dollywood is surprisingly fun. I remember going there as a kid having low expectations and ending up having the time of my life!
@@TheDetourDuo yeah it crazy two years ago when we started going over there i was in my mind do im going to like this place and now i look forward also we when to st thomas , dominica and barbero and aruba so it cool seen the you guys have been to the places the we also been to my wifr and love youre channel keep those video coming boss!
Love your video's!
Thank you!!!
What flavor whiskey did you buy?
We got a fifth of strawberry lemonade. It was gone the next day 🤣
What Air b&b did you use to stay for the visit?
We actually stayed up closer to Pigeon Forge and just drove in to Gatlinburg for the day. We really loved it! Affordable and comfortable. Here’s the link: abnb.me/UvsT1fyQNub
I have to do the moonshine when I go in nov
100 dollar challenge…orders side hash brown and side sausage the leaves a 25% tip 😮 immediately spends half their money
We like food 🤷♀️
How many shots did you take? How were still able to film? Lol.
Probably multiple haha. I found that if I look through the camera it takes some of the fear away. Just Kinda taking attention away from the big scary thing.
I am thinking to go there with my gf around September, would you say is a nice place and fair prices ?
It's a nice place and worth a visit, but definitely not fair prices. However, you can get by spending time there without breaking the bank by doing a few things we mentioned in the video. Ex do moonshine and whiskey tastings instead of going to the bars. It's cheaper and fun. If you want to do something memorable then spend a little money to buy tickets to the skybridge or anakeesta
Good video 🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏👌🏾👌🏾👌🏾🇮🇳🇮🇳
Thanks!
Sign us up for the moonshine testing.
the one that was like 128 proof definitely tasted like how I imagine old school moonshine would taste. But a lot of the flavors were dangerously smooth
