    Joe burrow lands upon 7 or 8 in my opinion but the problem lies in the fact that he has a good defense and the best supporting cast in the nfl and for those that want to talk about his oline even joe burrow himself admitted that the value of sacks and a bad offensive line is greatly over exaggerated, and can y’all please stop mentioning his acl injury like it makes him a better quarterback. • @quinnjackson9252
      @quinnjackson9252 2 роки тому

      I think there is a healthy balance between looking at statistics and having a good eye for the game. Sure, stats are good for Burrow. But, Burrow obviously padded his stats any chance he could get, which adds a large level of bias to the math. Try analyzing Burrow's play style. Is "that ability to extend the play" a strength as much as it appears to be? More often than not, it is Burrow trying to get the glory, make the big play, feed his ego. Nothing wrong with that, it suits some people's play style, but in reality, the inability to settle and get the job done just means he forces long plays which will hurt more than it helps. Sure it works from time to time, which is why people will love him, and hence why he is overrated. People remember the big plays more, even if they aren't the best plays. There is a reason why Tom Brady is the GOAT even if some have better statistics than he does. Brady does what he needs to win. He doesn't make the glory plays unless he can do it easily or must do so in order to win. Rather, he will take his time, work slowly and patiently, and simply win. Another example is Josh Allen. Allen is undoubtably top 3, and is known for getting out of trouble and running it. The reason Allen isn't overrated is because Allen is, again, happy to make small plays to get what he needs to win, rather than force some big glory play. Josh Allen's big run plays are more part of his skillset and gameplan, rather than him trying to force a gloryplay. His ability to escape and turn out near impossible runs is just getting the job done when it needs to be, not him trying to make some impossibly big play. If Burrow matures and moves past his cockyness, and learns to settle, he can prove us doubters wrong. However, if he can't, which I personally think will happen because of his personality, he will remain dangerous and good, but never one of the GOAT's and unable to close things out when it comes down to it.

      @@quinnjackson9252 bro, you trippin if you think he’s “feeding his ego” while extending the play to not get sacked. lmfao u actually just think he should just take the sack. Plus, “padding his stats” when? I mean, it’s not his fault if he balls out. Fr, every qb stay pads to some extent. Plus, I haven’t seen many plays where he keeps it going when it’s a lost cause, when he just breaks sacks. He just tries to get the most out of a play. U actually have no idea what ur talking about. Keep hating lmao

    • @quinnjackson9252
      @quinnjackson9252 2 роки тому

      @@MASKEDMANGUITAR I think he should look short, obviously not take the sack silly!! Either that or throw it away. Seriously, guy never throws short. Brady, on the other hand, is happy to make a gain of four yards three times in a row to get the first down, rather than repeatedly force something big. That is why Brady does not get sacked, he knows how to be the best, and even though he is capable of making the big play, he doesn't unless the defense gifts it to him or he needs to in order to win the game. Just watch any Bengals game highlights and you will see what Burrow does. He throws the ball long far more often than he should. Where the best quarterbacks would throw a short throw that gets the job done and actually makes something out of the play, Burrow hesitates, looking for something long, and when he takes too long and protection breaks down, he is forced to scurry. Sure that leads to play extensions, but often, it leads to sacks, while a short lob would made for a gain of 3 or 4 to make something out of the play. Burrow makes this work sometimes, probably more than most, but he would be more successful if he learned how to play like an excellent quarterback rather than one who thinks he is great.
      Also, "U actually have no idea what ur talking about." Rather than getting all grumpy and resorting to childish insults, you could choose to continue the conversation, see my point, try to get me to see yours, and have a good time. Insults do nothing but spread anger and make it a worse place for everyone.
      ALSO also, I'm no hater. I think Burrow is good. Just not great. Overrated and weakened by the flaws I have pointed out.

      @@quinnjackson9252 bro, i cant name one time where the reason for a sack was because of him overextending the play. Show me an example and then wells start talking. Also, wdym “he takes too long and the pressure gets to him” joe has one of the quickest release times in the nfl, with 2-3 seconds almost every play. Joe reads the defense and makes an educated throw, rather than throwing it quickly straight into triple coverage. Also, STOP COMPARING HIM TO TOM BRADY, Tom Brady is the goat, joe is a second-year QB coming off a horrific injury. Btw, joe dosent throw long often, as he usuallay goes for more mid-range shots. I honestly just dont think you watch football man…

      @@MASKEDMANGUITAR ua-cam.com/video/ilkYSfNAsJQ/v-deo.html
      Remember this home game loss to the Chargers? If Burrow had read the defense, he would have noticed how the Chargers were sending the pass rush, which wouldn't give him any time to make a big play. Instead, Mr. Big Ego Cigar Guy decides that he wants to get some glory and go long. All it would have taken is a little lob to Uzomah for a nice little gain, if not a first down then at least a few yards and a manageable 3rd down. Before you say that Uzomah wasn't a good target because he was covered, the play, had Burrow gone short and not long, had the defense fooled and completely ready for Burrow to go long and not short, giving a clear window for Burrow to hit him, which should have been easy given his lightning fast release time which you tout. However, Burrow insisted on dropping with the intention of striking deep, giving the Chargers defense the perfect opportunity to strip him and take the turnover. So much for being great at escaping the sac! Watch what Herbert does the next play, just a short little toss for a big gain. Yes I know the Chargers were 3rd and 16 and had made mistakes and didn't pick up the 1st down etc, but the point is that those simple little plays are very manageble and Burrow much prefers looking for the glory play rather than just getting the job done.
      ua-cam.com/video/ilkYSfNAsJQ/v-deo.html
      1st and 10, no need to hurry, no need to look long. What does Burrow do? Looks for the big play. And what happens? Interception. What should he have done? Hit either Uzomah who was way more wide open than he was on the previous failure, which would have made it easily 2nd and 3 at least, or wide open Mixon in the middle there for another decent gain. And, this was against the Chargers lousy defensive line. What do you think will happen when he tries that against a decent safety tandem like Jordan Poyer and Micah Hyde? Ask Mac Jones how that'll play out...
      ua-cam.com/video/ilkYSfNAsJQ/v-deo.html
      Once again forcing the issue long. Instead of realizing that the bad snap had most likely ruined the play called, Burrow forces something that didn't need to be forced. He could have, once again, laid the ball off to Uzomah, making for at least a better punting position, if not a first down possibility.
      ua-cam.com/video/ilkYSfNAsJQ/v-deo.html
      Seriously, like a broken record here. Deep drop, delay, Uzomah has room to land an airplane, but sure enough Burrow looks for the gloryshot, and where does it lead him? pummeled.
      ua-cam.com/video/ilkYSfNAsJQ/v-deo.html9
      This one just confuses me haha!
      There are more examples from this game alone. He made some good long plays, some good short plays, but whenever he plays a half decent team, his ego makes him loose on some critical moments.
      Finally, why do you get so offended when I compare Burrow with Brady? Everyone does. There are many people and websites ranking Burrow as better than Brady. THAT is why Burrow is overrated. You argue he's not overrated, but when I compare him with Brady you say that's not fair because he isn't that good. Well, then, that makes him overrated! I can't wait to see the Bengals go against an actually difficult schedule, It will be fun to watch. That being said, I would be shocked if the Bengals don't loose at least somewhere around 8 games this season.
