◼Monte Generoso is the main panoramic peak of the Canton of Ticino and is among the most fascinating in Switzerland. The enchanting view at 1704 m above sea level stretches from the Apennines to the Alps allowing you to admire northern Italy from above with the lakes region and the Gran Paradiso Alpine chain, from Monte Rosa to the Matterhorn and from the Jungfrau to the Gotthard massif. Information boards give the opportunity to recognize valleys, lakes, localities and peaks. A show full of emotions are the sunsets and the auroras, when the sun transforms the sky and the earth into a sea of colors.

The new tourist facility "Fiore di pietra" is a unique architectural work of its kind, designed by the architect Mario Botta. Gastronomy and architecture come together in the "Generoso" self-service with terrace and in the "Fiore di pietra" restaurant, located on the rocky edge of the mountain, thus offering a 360-degree view of the picturesque surrounding landscape with breathtaking views.
There are many hiking trails that allow you to reach the summit starting from Rovio, Mendrisio, Castel San Pietro, but also from the Muggio Valley. Going up one of these paths towards the summit, it is advisable to stop in places that offer suggestive panoramic points such as the Hermitage of San Nicolao, the Bellavista, the Dossi or even Scudellate.
Many activities can be practiced on the mountain such as mountain climbing, paragliding, snowshoes, but also birdwatching. At the top it is possible to visit (by reservation) the Grotta dell’Orso, walk the path of the planets or the Nevère path. It is also possible to organize guided tours in the area to admire nature and the traces left by the man who lived in the mountain pastures. On Monte Generoso there are still some active farmers who sell fresh products.
