Also - dying to see the reassembly of ITB's and all the piping and ductwork in the valley of the V... because tackling some of that stuff myself with the engine in the car was pretty difficult due to the lack of room.
Why the convoluted way of doing ring clearence?? 1.) put ring in. 2.) Find what size feeler gauge fits in. 3.) use some of that extremely difficult mathematics to take current size of ring gap away from desired size of ring gap.. 4.) cut once.
You really need a "torque plate" sitting on top of the block in order to measure the bores properly. Basically, it's like having a cylinder head tightened properly on top of the block which affects the bores in the block.
Amazing video. Thank you very much. I am looking to swap an s62b50 into my e28. What is your take on that. Also, how complicated would it be to to take a used engine block from a seller and rebuild it out purchasing the remaining required parts?
So S62 or S65 is a better engine? Better gas mileage, better design, makes power more efficiently, lower maintenance of expensive parts. I know the S62 was first and the S65 is newer, but if I were to have one to replace the other in an E39 or an E90, which would be more reliable?
I noticed you did not specify that the piston ring gaps needed to be in a particular orientation when the pistons are installed, like M539 Restorations just did with his S65 rebuild, is this process not necessary on the S62 for some reason? What is the gaps all line up? Sorry in advance if you did mention this and I missed it..
❤😂 Hello 👋 there I need that engine for my BMW E34 4.4i V8. My mechanic passed on and my engine was been stolen at the time. Thanks again I am watching your videos from South Africa, Pretoria. ❤
Can't wait to see this thing fired up
That was the most relaxing video i have seen this year. Your a true tradesman
Hope to have you build my N55 one day!
I'm in the same boat!
That is one of the coolest thing I have ever seen
Outstanding video.
TONS of great info here. Thanks for the next one!

Excellent!
great content! are you planning on going through the full timing proceedure with the S62? ( assuming you aren't deleting the vanos) thanks!
Good Stuff!
solid intro. love it. great content man.
Artisan
Awesome build so far!
love it. keep em comin
Are you doing that rebuild in your bedroom?😂 I’ve rebuilt engines, lots of work, can be tedious, but satisfying when you start it up again. Nice work!

Can you guys share the link for someone to purchase the rod bearing?
What song is that? I need that. Perfect cruise music
Where the cylinder bored? Or are they stock bore
Hello TYSPEED! Whtas the matter with your BMW E39 M5 Engine? Does it run?
does the s85 have those small oil squirters as well ?
How much does something like this cost?

They always need to be spaced equally apart. If you have 3 rings, 120°, if you have 2, 180° etc.
Поршни и цилиндры надо было маслом смазывать, а так молодец👍🤙

pistons don't have a coated skirts?!
The lighting in the video makes it hard to watch. Some nice bright light would be great and skip the RGB stuff.
8000rpm with 99mm stroke crank? 😳 So its like 5.5L stroker?also CR is not even close to oem 11,0:1 with that insane 99mm stroke
