I bet the Big Bud 747 could out pull it. But that was fun! 😅 It takes more than a tank to tame the wheat fields of Montana.
@@ironwoodworkman4917 i don't think theres a single vehicle on earth big bud couldn't atleast budge.
A T55 only weighs 36 tons, big bud is 61, youd need a heavier tank or some other very heavy tracked vehicle. Obviously something like a 9800G6 would out pull 20 big buds @@ironwoodworkman4917

Thanks for the upload! Great spectacle! Was wondering how an older T-55 would compare in a tractor pulling event when you see online modern tanks being sent to these events and absolutely curb stomping. Glad to see it held up with a dominating performance.
@@rikspring Actually, it is. It is a Poland made recovery vehicle, built on the T-55 chassis, because behind Iron Curtain, T-55 were made under license in Poland and Czechoslovakia, apart from Soviet Union. From total 95000+ vehicles, more than 10000 were built in Polish People's Republic.

Well when you need to make 36 tons go 51kmh you're gonna need some power
More importantly, it's really heavy compared to a tractor. More weight on the ground directly translates to more traction.
@@nerd1000ify Plus just the nature of the treads, it has a lot more surface area to actually grip rather than four small (relatively) areas where the tires come in contact with the ground.
It's a tank recovery vehicle. Of course, it will out pull tractors.
Its not power but grip

Super dik om de WZT-2 van dichtbij te zien! De tug-of-war met de skidder was wel 1 van de mooiste momenten van heel de dag.
was een hele leuke dag om mee te helpen! een hoop mensen leren kennen!
Ik werk op de sleepboten in de Antwerpse Haven en die trekken de tank volgens mij probleemloos over eender welke ondergrond :) Konden we dat maar eens testen !
de tank maakt zou geen schijn van kans maken met zoon monster sleepboten hahaha.
effe vraagje, heb je al gevaren met de/een waterstofsleeboot in antwerpen of is die nog niet afgeleverd?
@@lpt2606 Die is nog in aanbouw momenteel. Maar daar zijn andere collega’s voor ingepland. Ik heb de voortstuwing van die waterstofboot nog niet onder de knie ;) De Voith daarentegen kan ik mijn naam
mee schrijven.
Je verwacht het niet, Schepen die dik over de 250 ton wegen, met een bollard pull 60+ ton. Ja daar gaat een Tank inderdaad niet van winnen
@@luuk341 Klopt. 2 motoren van 3600pk en een cilinderinhoud van 191liter per stuk. Het koppel is 25.320Nm. Bollard Pull 70Ton

Heeft ie eindelijk weer eens lekker hard kunnen werken. Mooi man. Ook een heel stuk minder rook op het laatst, zoals eigenlijk wel verwacht.

It's not like that. These tanks had the option of adding oil to the exhaust manifold. This was how they put up a smokescreen. The oil doesn't hurt them. :)
@@Robert-ze1vw it’s one gallon of engine oil down the inlet valve stems per one hundred gallon of diesel. They really use engine oil when working correctly :o)
Traction, weight distribution and gear ratios with a competent power source. That tank fits the bill.

Hoi Milo. Als je een LPG systeem monteert naast de diesel en 5% lpg toevoegt, krijg je betere, volledige verbranding van de diesel, meer vermogen en minder rook.
word veel te heet dat ding heeft koel problemen als je ook maar iets toevoegt

WZT-2 is still in service with the Polish army. About 40 of the 330 delivered remained. About 600 were produced in total. The last one was produced in 1992. Interestingly, they meet NATO requirements. :) They are used, among others, for towing Leopard 2a4s. Of which there is still some in the Army.

Mooi om die motor eens echt aan het werk te zien. Dat die toch nog zo'n werk had voor die full pull, joh Ik had verwacht dat dat makkelijker zou gaan. of hadden ze de kar op maximaal ingesteld?
Moet voor jouw ook wel lekker zijn emiel om eens zo rond te kunnen scheuren ipv de garage in en uit en dan al weer terug moeten omdat het erf ophoud.

Not exactly a fair contest.. A T55 weighs 36 Tons and has at least 500 HP in the engine as well as having a very low center of gravity and the extreme surface area of the treads.. It was never in doubt that the tank would win against everything.. The only way anything else could win would be if Milo missed a shift or made some other error in driving...
Not to mention the sheer amount of torque too.
a T55 has 580 to 690 hp, but hp is meaningless: The only thing that matters is weight because thats what creates traction. Maybe the skidder and the tracked John Deere together, bring enough weight to counter the T55s roughly 40 ton
Caterpillar dozer d10/d11, might do the job. Only finding here one in NL might be a problem

A real tank with a turret and gun (his T-69 II) would have been a better spectacle. This is a WZT-2, an armored recovery vehicle. Is it a tank though? The mind boggles over words and terminology.. ..

@@Hjerte_Verke Meh. Having a weapon changes nothing about the pulling forces and mechanical engineering involved. I couldn't care less about the type of tank involved.
It was originally built as a tank regardless, and then converted into a recovery vehicle.

Leuk om te zien, en de T55 is in goede staat, bedoel de motor moet aardig aan het werk om dat te presteren, zo te zien heeft hij het helemaal overleeft.

That recovery tracked vehicule was designed to tow broken tanks or pull stuck ones out of mud and so on,did anybody tought that any tractor from there could have any chance against it?😅

Yes , the John Deere 9RX Or Case Quadtrac Versatile 620 and Big bud tractors...
That’s was a little baby 8Rt deere. The big 9RX would pull with that tank. Btw, tractors are built to tow for thousands and thousand and thousand of hours, not really for short burst all out tug o war applications.
Well, pound for pound, tractors are much much stronger than any tank. A tank wouldn’t pull something that weighs as much as it does all day, every day.
Get a D11 dozer in there, and it will drag that tank like it’s nothing.

I mean that's an engineering vehicle. It's been specifically built to pull heavy vehicles that are stuck or can't move under their own power. If you can literally drag an tank or self propelled artillery piece you can "out-pull" a tractor.

Geweldige dit, echt leuk.....ik heb trouwens geleerd dat voertuigen nooit rechtstreeks tegen elkaar mogen trekken, anders trek je het differentieel naar de gallemiezen....
alleen als ze niet gemaakt zijn om te trekken.
The tank is always going to win.
It's sits lower, weighs more, and had metal tracks.
The first tractor was big, heavy, but still not as heavy as the tank.
It also had a higher center of gravity. Making it more top heavy.
It was also at a disadvantage from the start by being articulated. Giving it terrible weight distribution. The center being it's weak point. Causing the whole structure to go all over the place as soon as it gets off balance. Losing whatever grounded position it has.
The second tractor even though it has track's, it has rubber tracks. Which doesn't come close to the advantage of metal. It also isn't as heavy as the tank, nor come close. In fact, there's a video somewhere of a huge articulation tractor with 4 threads that gets completely owned by a similar sized tank. So if that tractor didn't stand a chance, and it's far bigger and stronger then this second tractor, then this tractor didn't stand a chance.
The tank has better overall more dense weight, lower center of gravity as stated, more power and torque, has a more fixed body, has metal track's, etc.
It's all interesting but sea levels are rising because concrete and road's don't really absorb water we kind of need plants in middle of this so there's lot's of work to do because it all has to get very green i think?
