Nice job. The trick is keep the water cool. Cooler the water, the smaller the shot. You’re correct about the flames. The air in between mixed with the vaporized plastic oils and combusted on the water. When I pour shot, I have a stainless bowl in the bottom of my bucket of water. Then I have to change the water between the crucibles. 5 gal isn’t enough.
I did shot once before, and I had a hose supplying cold water. I also did just a little bit. I used a stainless pot, but the pot was in use for a different project. I don’t regret torching my old buckets. The kids who were there got to see a wild show :) Thanks for your advice. I will fix my shot process so I can make better shot.
