    Great album.
    Bought it when it first came out.
    Saw them on this tour, at the Norwich.
    Great show.
    Met Paul afterwards and had a good chat with him.

      Up there with Battlezone's Fighting Back. If Paul was a bit wiser with his choices we could've had the Metallica/Megadeth situation where the guy that leaves a group before their huge success starts an almost equally successful group.

    • @frankwells7520
      @frankwells7520 2 роки тому +3

      @@Martsapso21 yep, the problem is he needs someone writing music, and he struggled finding musicians and even more a steady musical direction. He couldn't decide if playing light hard rock or classic heavy metal, then he even jumped on the groove metal trend.

    • @danielwildeboer1382
      @danielwildeboer1382 2 роки тому

      @@Martsapso21 Well, I don't know if it would be possible exactly like Metallica/Megadeth, because Maiden always had Rod Smallwood's management who is the real leader of the band, plus all the marketing with mascot Eddie, the awesome cover arts by Derek Riggs and also the support from the record label EMI, and all the trappings for the stages and their tours. It's practically impossible to compete with that. But I agree that Paul is a very talented vocalist and musician, but sadly he doesn't seem to value himself artistically or professionally speaking. It's a shame as it's a waste of talent. I like all the albums in his discography, but if he doesn't value it then the public won't value it. Even if he himself valued his solo career, he could be underated by most of the Metal audience, but at least he would have a loyal fan base with a productive and creative solid solo careere equal to Blaze Bayley.

      +Diogo Leonardo Sim. O Blaze investe na carreira solo, já lançou álbuns muito bons, só que o problema do Blaze é a imagem ruim que ele ficou no tempo do Iron, por isso o pessoal não da uma chance. Mas e o Paul? Tem uma imagem Boa no Iron, dois álbuns clássicos na história do Heavy metal, uma voz marcante e inconfundível e porque não engrena? Não investe na sua música solo, não se preocupa com a imagem (está obeso e desdentado), e vive falando mal da Ex banda mas 90% do set dele é Iron. Uma pena pra uma cara que tinha tanto talento.

This would sold better in 1983 or 84 instead of 92 when traditional heavy metal was on its way out commercial wise. Even Judas Priest's Painkiller had weaker sales in comparison to their previous releases despite it being a badass album.

      They would not have been quite able to continue up to this day Paul has been in a wheelchair since 2016 . He Almost died of sepsis and he has had a knee replacement which went wrong and now can't walk . He was in the hospital for 6 months in 2016 and they had to put him in a coma . He also had cancer twice prior to that.. His ability to tour post 2005 has been severely limited. From 2005 to 2015 he was only able to turn sporadically and has not performed since 2015 and even said in an interview a couple of weeks back that he has not sung at all the last several years. He is living in a care home /medical clinic in Croatia and said his medical bills have left him broke. He ocild not get the care he needed from the NHS in England so he had to pay for the care and treatment he needs out of pocket . Clap for the NHS. After 2005 he would have not been able to do the full scale huge tours that Maiden do . The ability to withstand a full scale tour both physically and mentally were one of the reasons he was fired from Maiden in 1981. On the killers tour his behavior became more erratic as the went on and it was determined he could not carry the band to the next level as a stadium band front man .. He was not taking care of himself and not taking care if his voice. People who have voices like Paul need to work hard to keep their voices in good shape

    As much as the intro song sounds EXACTLY like Priest, let me say it is better than anything Priest has ever written!
