I think using love potions deserved sentence to Azkaban. I am surprised that student at Hogwart weren't expelled for those.

I agree with you. I thinkt Avada Kedavara is the least evil because death is a mercy in contrast to the other two used in the worst way.

Avada kedavra is by all means the most merciful one as it kills instantly painlessly. Imperio co-op's you into doing tasks and you can through sheer willpower refuse. But cruciatus strips you of all reasonable forgiveness you cannot just regret and become whole again, nor can your opponent refuse, you strip away their ability to interact with the world or essentially get three quarters of the way to a dementors kiss without a dementor present which is why crucio is by far the most evil vindictive and troglodyte of the unforgivable curses.

I don't think the imperious curse is the worst since it was originally created with good intent but became corrupted by dark wizards. While the cruciatus curse was created specifically to cause pain not to the body but the soul. And the death curse irrevocably rips one's soul from their body never to return.

I'd say Crucio is worse than Imperio, simply because there's nothing you can accomplish with Crucio that you couldn't also accomplish with Imperio, except inflicting pointless pain.
Usually, torture is used to force someone to do something. But that's what Imperio does, pain free. Even making a person go insane can be accomplished with other spells, Lockheart kinda does it by accident on himself.
So, if a Death Eater wanted something from me, and they were going to use an unforgivable curse to get it, I'd much rather get Imperio than Crucio.

I think it's a matter of scale, on a personal level Crucio might be worse than imperio. But on a bigger scale that flips, like having some evil guy torture people left and right sure isn't nice, but having them mind control a bunch of people to do their evil bidding is much scarier.

Personally I still think Crucio is the most evil. In the books, Imperio is described as a "light, floating sensation" which seems much nicer than pure and complete pain. Sure, you could have a huge network of control, but any evil done with that will probably be done with the killing curse or crucio. I see imperio as a tool, kinda like blackmail. Bad on its own, but only really bad when used to do more evil.

Consider that the receiver becames slave to the caster, still conscious but unable to react. Ponder the implications...

Imperio can make you drown yourself....which both tortures and kills you. Think about it!

Would you rather experience pure pain, or be made to subject your family to it? Pain can be forgotten and overcome, but to have someone take away everything that makes you who you are seems much worse; that kind of pain never leaves people.

  • @QuietRiot3991

As shown in Goblet of Fire, the Imperious curse can make you jump out a window or drown yourself, which may as well be a combination of torture and death; the other two curses.

Your thoughs are really good fundamented! In my eyes, I see the Imperius curse as a form of psychic pain, while Crucius is the physical counterpart. On the other hand, Avadakavra is just mercy, and that's why Voldy used it for last, when his victims begged for mercy. Adding to your view on Imperius, there is also the legilemency when used to manipulate the mind of the people, getting them to see things, dive them into madness, another iteration of control, which is so evil. I used to believe crucius was the worse of the 3, but seeing ur pov and the multitude of use of Imperius, it is indeed the worst of them all.

(Before watching the entire video) I would say Crucio just because I don't think it ever has a "morally justified" reason to be used, unlike the other 2... but yeah, depending on how it's used, Imperio has the potential to easily be the worst.

If I had to endure one of those curses than I would definitely pick imperius or cruciates. Both are much preferable to being killed (assuming you don't have some Harry Potter level immunity to Avada Kedavara).

My idea of the worst curse is definitely imperious because it takes away free will and it's just creepy as all heck it's like blood bending from the avatar the last air bender but with a wand

The Imperius curse can make you k!ll yourself. Why use Avada Kedavra? Most powerful. But also least evil of the three, for it can be used for good.

Just one more thing. Voldemort wasn't the only one who has created the horcrux. We meet that person in Chamber of Secrets. It was Arthur Weasley and his enchanted car. Mr Weasly as many other men had an obsession about the car. He literally put a soul into it. There is a reason why the car has appeared in the Spider Nest of the Forbidden Forest and saved Ron and Harry.

No just no arthur weasley a murderer no. That ford anglia has so many enchantments on every nut and bolt it became as sentient as a golem with an order to do something unspecific like live

By the same logic, the sorting hat is a horcrux. Just, no.

      @lubystkaolamonola529 22 години тому

@@xyreniaofcthrayn1195 It seems that in order to make a horkrux you do not need to commit murder but rather transfer the part of your soul without tearing it. Many men love their old cars even if the repair costs more than buying new one, they insist on fixing it and care for it. They talk to the car. You only need to be deeply attached to that thing and transfer the positive energy into it.

@@lubystkaolamonola529 Then you don't know why a horcrux is quite literally dark magic with absolutely zero good intention or application unless a dark wizard. No that car is enchantment city so enchanted in fact that it became sentient though I do agree it does behave a smidgen like Mrs Weasley and Arthur Weasley may have accidentally cast the same enchantment Lilly potter put on Harry in her final moments but again enchantment every square inch of every nut, bolt and plush leather seat is enchanted making that car the single most enchanted object in the Harry potter world (gringotts eat your heart out) and now serves as a sentry for students dicking about the forbidden forest.
