The song swings you around, throws you down and stomps on you before picking you back up and hugging you better. Gives you a kiss and then spits in your face one last time before leaving.
Wilder... This is wilder than Wee Man by a long way.... Edit 8 months later realising I might be wrong: actually wee man is pretty intense I mean this is wild but yeah I see what u mean...
I suspect the 'Many of Horror' fans who are completely unaware of Biffy's first 3 albums aren't playing this on a loop... ...the lack of enthusiasm from the crowd and awkward near-silence when Biffy played 'Wave Upon Wave Upon Wave' live when I saw them a few years ago was kinda heartbreaking.
Very rarely do I listen to a song and love it straight away...but this song has provided such a treat. So many levels and layers of emotion combined to create an amazing piece of pure brilliance.
I saw it described as "orchestral prog", and was thinking "OK, so something vaguely mathrock or postrock?" -- but this is way more like something from Genesis, circa 1972. Complete with fake flute! :D
no mate I play it on repeat the way I play songs like genesis can utility and Nina hagen naturetrain,,,,,,3 masterpieces that will live as long as Mozart etc. (in my opinion of course)
Absolutely beautiful! I found ellipsis abit bland at times, but they are more than fully back on track. That instrumental gives me stars and shits vibes too

OMG WHAT THE FUCK JUST HAPPENED!!!!!! BIFFY IS BACK BABY !!!!! that was like some Pink Floyd masterwork. Bravo!!!! more like that please. That was the 1st song in a very long time to actually my hairs on my arms and neck stick up.
Anyone notice that all the songs from this album have one dislike at the moment from that one guy who doesnt like this album. But this is the one song that has no dislikes currently. Not even he was dissapointed by this song
The "one guy" is probably that guy who inspired the whole album, the guy who walked out on them and made them feel like they had been used as a money train. Because let's face it no one else can dislike the album!
What fucking great stuff is that!!! Whow.... BIFF found they roules..... great i love that!!!!...... the Sound is between Vertigo and Puzzles!!!! Congratulation to the Band..... your are the one and only!!!! Fucking BIFF we love until 15 years!!!!
Anyone experience a 10 minute version of this song? I have a CD of a Celebration of Endings, and there's like another song attached to Cop Syrup at the very end
I think it might be “I can’t take my mind off you” from blowers daughter or maybe frankie valli can’t take my eyes of you - similar cadence/chord progression
The melody in the middle part somehow reminds me of the guitar line in "der Graf" by the German band "die Ärzte" :D is anyone hearing that too? ^^ Both great songs :3
I absolutely love this song BUT I do wish it went on for longer when the harsh vocals came back in at the end. Just a personal nitpick, otherwise their best song in ages!
Aye Biffy did a gig at Bellahousten park in Glasgow with Fall Out Boy, Wolf Alice, Cage The Elephant and The Xcerts as support. Was an absolutely insane day!
The song swings you around, throws you down and stomps on you before picking you back up and hugging you better. Gives you a kiss and then spits in your face one last time before leaving.
Jesus, this song is kinky.
I love this comment!😂 spits in your face one last time 🤣 brilliant
@billybhoy 79 we've all been there
yea sounds like some relationships
THIS IS THE SOUND THAT BIFFY MAKES!
Let's be real nobody is leaving this song feeling disappointed... 🤘
Bowman Hath I was personally hoping for something a bit wilder. Like In The Name of the Wee Man.

Typical of the lads to leave an absolute banger for the last track innit...'mon the Biffy!!! 😎

Both amazing songs 🤘
So Cop Syrup is one of the most beautiful songs from the Biffy Clyro. Sounds like pure madness. You don't know if you want to scream or cry.
The instrumental part of this sounds so much like Steven Wilson... that is to say, it’s absolutely beautiful! What a song!
Tom Lobley which implies that it’s prog rock as fuck! Reminds me of Peter Gabriel’s Genesis as well
Can you imagine the pits at the gigs to this 🙌🏻 madness 👌🏻😂
@@Wartung88 Oh yeah! It would be awesome :D
Tom Lobley love Steven Wilson, love Biffy, this is excellent !
imagine how good this is gonna sound live 😸
Awesome 💙
Roll on Kentish Town forum to go mental to this banger
I hope to see them at Download Festival 🤩
I can t wait maybe only 10 more years till live music!!!!!!
Ok.this song sounds focking cool😎
I was fortunate enough to be there when they played this live for the first time… tears were rolling down my cheeks
I can't explain with words what this song does to me. It's hauntingly beautiful, depressing yet uplifting at the same time. It's a masterpiece.
More uplifting in my opinion.
This is the best thing Biffy have done for a long time.
This song is honestly a masterpiece, easily the best on the album and such an amazing finale to the record
Apparently Simon wanted this song as the opening track but was advised against it. It's definitely spot on for the closing track.
@@helensoutham8290 I agree 100%
Zedaph- is that you? Mon the Biff!
Why? Either this or End Of are better openers than North of South IMO
Agreed. I’d put it in my top 5 they’ve ever done!
Brilliant album. That song is one of the best of Biffy Clyro.
Every time I listen to this song I have the chills and shiny eyes! It’s like standing in front of a work of art, it’s pure genius and magic !
Very rarely do I listen to a song and love it straight away...but this song has provided such a treat. So many levels and layers of emotion combined to create an amazing piece of pure brilliance.
That instrumental section is like something from Fear of a Blank Planet. Love it.
yeah, it has a lot of progressive vibes :D
Reminded me of The Doves
Nice instrumental section but the vocals are awful
cool to see other Porcupine Tree fans in here!
I saw it described as "orchestral prog", and was thinking "OK, so something vaguely mathrock or postrock?" -- but this is way more like something from Genesis, circa 1972. Complete with fake flute! :D
One of the greatest songs in the last 10 years!!!
I absolutely love this album, it combines best things from all of their albums into one, great masterpice. I missed this screams so much
Glad this album had at least a couple heavy/oddball songs on it, for me it’ll always be what Biffy does best by a long shot.
I love all of it, odd ball, normal, electronic, heavy. I want it all
I’m i the only one that wants the instrumental version to go on for an hour or so 😳🤯😊☺️
no mate I play it on repeat the way I play songs like genesis can utility and Nina hagen naturetrain,,,,,,3 masterpieces that will live as long as Mozart etc. (in my opinion of course)
@@TheBobbymcd I agree about Genesis - the early incarnation of the band produced some incredible music 👍
Keep playing it on repeat, can't stop myself

Amazing as always!! 2:15 onwards is just something else
Great song to end a terrific album with.
An absolute classic piece of Biffy 🤘🤘
Honestly this goes right up there for Biffy songs for me already
Absolutely beautiful! I found ellipsis abit bland at times, but they are more than fully back on track. That instrumental gives me stars and shits vibes too
I actually think it's their best album since Puzzle. Not a bland moment on it. Couldn't stand Ellipsis.

The majesty and serenity of the strings ÷ the capitulating mania of the drums.
Congratulations Biffy, you just released the best song ever!!
This is the best song by biffy they have an amazing catalogue of music but this is just the best, i am so impressed
