Thank goodness for PJ Chen! Had an issue trying to deal with a design being put on an object. Now I know what to do while learned another way of using FlowOnsuf.. (:
another great video, thanks for sharing. it would be nice to include Orient on Surface, pretty similar to Splop, which lies somewhat between flow and orient on surface.
Hi pj , i have a problem, when i do the splot and and the sphere appear i cannot see the object inside, so it's quite difficult to choose the size of the object😢
Is there a reverse method of of this? I have skewed model that I want to make straight. Think a warped window, but need to be flattened to make parts. I can't seem to do it without totally flattening every piece of geometry in the model. Unroll and smash do not work for what I am trying to do here, or I am going about it wrong.
You can try unroll. I have a video may able to help you. ua-cam.com/video/L2dYFw-4GLY/v-deo.html also check on this one ua-cam.com/video/Ea_eIghyVXY/v-deo.html
@@PJChenJewelryDesign Thank you for replying. I used Meshmixer offset to shell a 1.6 mm stl object, created a surface (with zero thickness) in Rhino and splopped the shell onto the surface. When viewed from the interior, It appears as a solid object on the surface and can't find the sequence to hollow it after splopping. Am trying to print objects with uniform thickness.

After using Splop or Curve along surface, how can the added object be hollowed so that the modified original has a uniform thickness?
Splop or Flow Along Surface are transform tool. it is easier to hollow the forms before you transform them to curve surface.
