I have no issues with writing, but could never get a "perfect nice handwriting" even when trying hard. And always getting 1-2 letters wrong, and have to cross them out, and repeat. I remember a moment of bafflement in kindergarten, where one particular writing exercise I found close to impossible while other children had no issue with it. I told myself "I hate this one, I won't do it, it's not my kind of exercise", but then I automatically had to think "and how do you imagine yourself in future life? those are formative years, if this is hard for you, this is exactly what you should be practicing!". So I did. I still find it hard. It's funny how those moments are now actually looked back at by adult me.. no idea if it is related to ADHD, maybe it's normal? Never talked to anyone about it, and would never expect my future self to remember it later :D

my handwriting is still incomprehensible, but at least it is technically correct. Until about the 4th grade any letters with horizontal asymmetry would get flipped randomly. I could read the difference between 'd' and 'b', but I could not reliably write them with the correct orientation. It doesn't help that I am left handed and none of the normal writing forms/techniques were actually applicable to pushing the pencil to the right from the left, and the spine of every notebook made it so that to write comfortably, I would have to start writing in the middle of the page. And inevitably, if the line of text is long enough, it will curve downward as it moves to the right. Writing was probably THE biggest issue I had in school.
I also remember that the fluorescent lights in the school made me feel physically uncomfortable and spaced me the fuck out. And still to this day am completely useless in noisy environments. Never been able to enjoy live music because of this, even though I am a relatively musical person. I also get intention tremor doing fine motor manipulation (so, writing, playing piano) with my hands. Don't know if that's related. But I still avoid hand writing anything to this day at all costs.

I am terrible at spelling and with handwriting. My daughter is as well at ten but she can spell better than me from what I see. I know she takes after me unfortunately I just worry about her future. She is a smart kid and I not just saying this because it’s my daughter. She is smart but she has started to hate school.
